stupid fucking bastard. i am not coping with the leaks
#dead leaf for leafpool and gull feathers for feathertail#like yeah it's funny that cherith does whatever the hell she wants as soon as she's in the driver's seat#but it's also baffling and frustrating that she wanted this in the first place#crowfeather or at least the version of him in my head is a fun and interesting character because he's shitty#in the newer books there's been a weird attitude toward him where the other characters think he's irritable but also noble and attractive#also tawnypelt is such a nothing character it's upsetting that all she's ever been is an accessory to the men around her#her father her brother her mate her son her grandson(s)#and her pov is no longer merely boring but actually insufferable thanks to her poorly handled “kids these days” plots#if it were up to me#the new prophecy would focus more on tawnypelt feeling out of place in shadowclan and struggling to prove her loyalty#contrasting brambleclaw who is generally accepted in thunderclan but victimizes himself due to his insecurity#i would also explore how tawnypelt and rowanclaw get together since he hates her in one scene and then they're lovey dovey in the next#although this does seem to be the basis of many warriors relationships#i'm not sure how i feel about tawnypelt getting a second mate as an elder but i don't want to begrudge old people finding love again#so i'm fine with it as long as it's not crowfeather#as for crowfeather#he would fall hard and fast for feathertail because she's pretty and shows him kindness but i want it to be one-sided#then he would fall hard and fast for leafpool for the same reasons#she runs away with him not because she loves him but because clan society is suffocating and she needs an escape#so when they get back to the clans she moves on pretty quickly but he lives a long and miserable life pining after her#his clanmates quietly avoid him because they don't like him that much because why would they and so he never becomes deputy#i can see him trying to reconnect with breezepelt and nightcloud as an elder#not necessarily because he realizes how shitty he is but because he wants a relationship with his granddaughters but it's strained#and then he dies! i'm tired of writing and being frustrated by these stupid books so i'm ending it here#changing skies spoilers#crowfeather#warrior cats#eel art#eel text

|| Squirrelflight ||
How I feel about this character – I love spunky sassy Squirrelflight. I really liked she and Leafpool when they were introduced and I still do. I’m a huge lover of Squirrelflight and I’ll be extremely upset when she dies haha. She didn’t get as much development as Leafpool did, but I really enjoyed their loving sisterhood.
All the people I ship romantically with this character – Squirrelflight/Brambleclaw is good later on in the series. Squirrel/Storm might have been interesting but ultimately I don’t think it would ever last long. Now… Squirrel/Storm/Bramble? Galaxy brain. Squirrel/Bramble is really only a good ship from PoT onwards - its not very good in tNP, which is where it ought to be good lol.
My non-romantic OTP for this character – Squirrelflight/Feathertail, Squirrelflight/Tawnypelt, Squirrelflight/Leafpool. Squirrelflight, unfortunately, didn’t get a lot of relationships outside of the journeying cats - even after they came home. I wish her relationships with characters other than Brambleclaw or Ashfur were elaborated on.
My unpopular opinion about this character – I’m no good at this part of the questionnaire okay don’t expect anything reliable out of me
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon – I wish Squirrel and Bramble had fixed their differences in tNP properly. Brambleclaw was in the wrong on all accounts and he was way too stubborn about not taking his head out of his ass for two seconds to realize that Squirrelflight was right. It wasn’t fun to read. I also wish that Squirrel hadn’t become reviled by every single cat she loved aside from Leafpool in OotS but oh well
side note: squirrel isn’t a word to me anymore
|| Crookedstar ||
How I feel about this character – I didn’t feel much about Crookedstar until his super edition, but even in the original series I thought he never got much. I like Crookedstar’s character - him dealing with his injury was a lot like Brightheart dealing with hers, and the manipulation he suffered under Mapleshade was intense and powerful and well done. All around? I like this big buff boy.
All the people I ship romantically with this character – Bluestar/Crookedstar, lol, and Willowbreeze/Crookedstar. I like both ships!!
My non-romantic OTP for this character – Crookedstar/Oakheart, Crookedstar/Brambleberry, Crookedstar/Shellheart, Crookedstar/Silverstream - anything that gives Crookedstar a good, loving family? Yes.
My unpopular opinion about this character – hhngngnnnruhcns
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon – I wish we had more of him, lol. I wish he’d gotten to tell Rainflower off properly, and have it actually affect her - or, if nothing else, have him realize sooner that Rainflower wasn’t the best mom.
|| Mapleshade ||
How I feel about this character – I fuckin like Mapleshade but I’ve never read her ebook so idk much about her actual character. From what I’ve heard, I do love her drive to find a place for herself and her kits, and also her desire for revenge. Unfortunately, even with an ebook, all her characterization is still more or less up to interpretation/guesswork.
All the people I ship romantically with this character – Nightcloud/Mapleshade, lol. Thank @silverhawk for all that way back when! But even in canon I imagine that the two would get along.
My non-romantic OTP for this character – Mapleshade/Darkstripe. Again, thank silverhawk lol. I’m sure even without the headcanoning their dynamic is something hilarious.
My unpopular opinion about this character – screams internally I guess I think she’s not overrated?? haha
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon – I wish Mapleshade had attacked anyone other than Sandstorm in The Last Hope. I thought Millie, Graystripe, or Leafpool would be more appropriate for her to try and kill lol. I also wish she’d gotten more of like. Everything - but I also wish that for all the Dark Forest cats.
