Oh I actually have a fifth approach, though it's your usual VW reincarnation AU trimax->tristamp where only Vash remembers everything and he realizes the 'doomed by narrative' fate ww has to face:

He thought he could save him at first, but all plans were thrown out of the window at the sight of the recklessness of the current Wolfwood who's clearly way more irrational that his Wolfwood. (His Wolfwood—his! He can't believe he dared to think of him as such!)

I only wrote bits for it, but I think it's good food for thought!
