Making sure people on tumblr get to see pictures & videos posted elsewhere online but also putting in a deliberate effort to include credit & sources has me like
#I know many people on here don't go on other social media sites so I feel this is the best solution#I try my best to make it easily accessible to find where pictures I post came from and give credit#because it used to drive me wild with other fandoms I'm in where there'd be iconic images getting shared around#and the source would get lost to time/reposts which sucks for the person who actually took & owns the picture#but also I personally like being able to go#''oh hell yeah that photographer dropping another banger image?? swear they never miss''#''holy shit my mutual took a kickass photo at the show you couldn't see that on the tv angle'' etc#also so many things like instagram stories get lost to time and if they're captured people don't always know where they came from#I wish it was a full time job to collect an accurately sourced/credited archive of images & videos#if I had the space/money to literally start a formal archive for it I would#(I already lowkey have a danhausen one I just feel like I need a couple hard drives etc for it because there is a Lot)#preservation of media my beloved
