I have a hot HOT take coming in as a longtime Five x Lila shipper, now that I've had some time to sit on the season.

As much as I enjoyed what went down this season - because yes, the scandal of it all is precisely *what* makes it so tasty, to me - I actually missed some of the absurdity their dynamic had in older seasons. The soft domestic turn was sweet (and I liked it) but I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss the wackadoodle aspect of past seasons.

Like, their dynamic has ALWAYS been batshit crazy (the naked fight, the constant sniping, the begrudging affection despite their lurid pasts). The absurdity was a *part* of the appeal. I wish they'd leaned into that aspect a bit more - but then again, given all the hand-wringing happening right now, perhaps audiences wouldn't have been able to handle it.
