Just learned what hanahaki is (coughing up flowers from unrequited love) from a video by ColeyDoesThings on YouTube, and she had an idea we could take, so I will.
The Flower Husbands have been married for some time, quite happily. One night, one of them wakes up with hanahaki. Their husband no longer loves them. They're coughing up poppies.
