ㅡ A CHARACTER STUDY: #2 - The Stage
references: hirai momo (twice), lee chaeryoung (itzy), huh yunjin (le sserafim) habits: sitting with her teeth showing, overusing hips, teasing the camera, flipping hair, keeping her back straight, ‘barbie hands’, pointing her toes, sensual facials, smug glances. favorite song(s) to preform: dreams come true, shut down, adios least favorite song to perform: savage strengths: presence, playing to the camera, captivating the audience weaknesses: struggles with the groups hard hitting and hip hop choreography with her ballet background (imagine how nakamura  kazuha ((le sserafim)) dances), stiffness in her posture, slight lack of flavor (aside sexy) when performing. 
living for the applause and the way you cheer and scream for her, hwang deiji performs for the reaction. she wants your ‘ooh’s’ and your ‘ah’s’ . she wants to audibly hear each gasp from your lips and she will drag it out of you with every last breath you breathe. if she can’t get attention from home, she’ll get it from thousands screaming and chanting her name, whether it be for glory or praise. a ballerina at heart, deiji cares about angles and grace. its all about telling the story, and making you believe she believes, feels, and dances every word. she cares about you believing the mask because that’s exactly what fuels her. with no dancer positions, daisy’s center spot has 0 to do with her dance ability, but rather the ability to out perform and out do, something she gained from the inadequacy you are made to feel while training seriously and abroad for ballet and the need to be seen and adored after growing up in a space where you were fourth in line (despite being the first born). she takes the longest to pick up the groups choreography but once she does, its wraps for anyone else getting your eyes. she’s meant to bombard and force her way into your mind, and it’s why she’s marketed as such. a blooming beautiful flower, planting itself in your vision only to multiply and grow into a  sea of suffocating weeds, capturing you into a soft, though deceitful bliss. and then its over. you pluck it from the ground, and it wilts into a disgusting black sludge but you’ve already been trapped. like momo, the performance will always be full out. sexy and alluring, with straight lines and amazing technique. like chaeryoung, she’ll capture your attention. one moment she’s there front and center and then she’s gone, and yet you catch a glimpse of her dazzling smile in the corner, or maybe a wink  from left stage. even as someone else relays their lines your eyes will still track her. like yunjin she’ll give her all, every. single. time. every movement is full out, striking, feminine and fierce. her energy is darker, more mature and  stronger than the other’s around her. if hwang deiji is on the stage, you will be watching her. she’ll hear every gasp, she’ll notice every blush and each time she returns she’ll use it against you. she is but a serpent in the center, who’s sole purpose is to grab you, seduce you, and leave you craving oh so much more.
but where there is your center, standing as the goddess that owns your eyes, no one tends to notice the way you’ve seen her, but no words have left her lips. as the other girls around her excel in each category by skill, and not the ability to wow you with smoke and mirrors. if the performance seemed especially on point for her that day, you may have missed the way her voice wavered, or the way her rap lines were lack luster in comparison to the delivery.  fireworks and flare, with no real show.
