What are your favorite things about each adam driver character?

oh jeez ok buckle up for the several long paragraphs i am about to write that no one's going to care about it because it's going to be feral nonsense ok <3 i'm just going to talk about my top favs since there's so many adc's and we'd be here all day.

— KYLO REN/BEN SOLO: putting our emo boy first because he's the first one i fell for (insane cause i went into the films ready to hate him because he killed off a fav of mine but then he took off his mask and i was like ....ima hear him out). as someone with both mommy and daddy issues it's no surprise i gravitated towards him and actually loved the dynamic he had with his parents because it's completely up to interoperation (i have read no sw books so exclude them), but han and leia both hint to them being not great parents. so thinking about the internal struggles that ben probably went through to become kylo and how easy it probably was to taint his mind because of absent parents or parents who didn't really know how to be their best for him literally sends me spiraling. not to mention this lil fucker is resilient as hell and he literally is just a ball of feelings and rage and doesn't know how to handle them because he was never taught how to and hellooo the call is coming from inside the house. his lightsaber is also superior (besides mace windu's). i will forever be bitter they focused hella on his relationship with rey than anything else (also this is no hate because i love rey ok). like i get it but also adam had the range to play as ben, to be something other than driven by trying to convince some girl to be on the dark side and take her down. like no hate but my boy deserved a bit better writing.

— ADAM SACKLER: i only watched girls for him and then i ended up really enjoying the show which was huge surprise but it just makes the rewatches that more special. but this little perverted freak is just so chaotic and toxic in his own way and it just makes me go dumb. because he's the little weirdo your girl friends will be like yeah stay away from him but he's the one who will love you so deeply to the point where it's a little scary and chaotic and toxic and dependent but he will also lift you up and do what he can for you and he's big as fuck and can carry you around everywhere, build you things, make you things, plus watching him in plays and little movies and shows ughhh. he's chaotic boyfriend material. a chaotic messy himbo if you will. he's just so unapologetically himself and has a lot more depth than one would think from first glance or the first two seasons of the show. and he's incredibly sensitive!! ok i'll shut up (but if we focusing on thirst um...the dirty talk?? yeah).

— PHILLIP ALTMAN: aka adam sackler's less-chaotic but a bit more toxic due to mommy issues counterpart (if we're being honest), i really have no real ground breaking explanation as to why i have intense feelings towards this man. it could be because the movie i really love the movie he's from?? like i don't know but when i think of him i just want to lay down and listen to lana and really think about how i could fix him by making him worse. i also think this character has hidden depth we didn't get to see and there's a lot of unspoken familial issues going on there and like he's a little lost (relatable). plus he's silly and his little dance hip thrust could convince me to forgive him of everything. plus the line "the stuff that's going on in fossil fuels is just really sexy" kills me each time.

— JUDE: i honestly think this character is insane. like he has a darkness to him that people either don't mention or just overlook because there's a kid involved. but even before said kid was involved he was...something else. like he's the worst baby daddy but also the best but also you get it but also you're like...do i get it because there's something off here?? like it's just one of those characters you're like do i like him? do i want him? is he okay? am i okay? what's even really going on with him? i just love it lmao.

— PATERSON: husband. boyfriend. material. that is all. you know the quiet soft boys that just make you want to scream into a pillow and be like 'when will it be my turn?' yeah, that's this man. he's everything!

Tiamat- Build Speculations

Please note before I begin with this post this is being written on the day of Tiamat’s full reveal and before any PTS and official gameplay has been revealed. If this is read at a later date I’d like you to keep that in mind.

While I am definitely not a competitive player I would like to think that I am well versed with my mages even the more difficult ones such as Hel, Persephone and hopefully I can add Tiamat to my repertoire. Anyway without further delay let’s begin!

Starters, oh starters, what’s a girl to choose?

First of course to discuss is the new starters and which I believe Tiamat will perform best with. When it comes to the three basic mage starters, I believe all have some merit to choosing them with Tiamat.

Conduit Gem- Early game with Tiamat having limited abilities having extra damage on her 1 will be helpful especially since at level 5 and below she will at most have 2 ranks in this ability. When it comes to upgrades, my suggestion for conduit gem is most definitely Gem of Focus over Archmage’s Gem. Tiamat has a lot of abilities that she’ll be wanting to cast regularly, Archmage’s Gem meanwhile benefits gods that just rely on a few abilities to deal big damage.

Gem of Focus meanwhile can provide a Tiamat with everything a dragon like her would desire. Extra damage, extra movement speed and extra mitigations by constantly casting. Both Flying and Grounded Tiamat will desire those attributes.

Sands of Time- Any stance switcher such as Tiamat can benefit from a sands of time. Extra mana recovery and cooldown? This in my opinion is the best early game option for Tiamat. However she does lack the extra damage of conduit gem the early cooldown at level 1 can help remedy this. 

Now upgrades are a little trickier. Pendulum of Ages when Tiamat is released will be providing 20% cooldown. In a vacuum this is good. Tiamat would definitely want her cooldown. But there’s other items competing for that spot. Spear of Desolation, Soul Gem, Chronos Pendant even plenty of protection options are all fierce competitors for Pendulum of Ages, with potion of magical might also providing cooldown. I personally feel that there’s not too much room for those 20% cooldown items for mages.

Alternate Timeline is well Alternate Timeline, I don’t think anyone benefits a lot from it’s current state.

Vampiric Shroud- I say this is good for Tiamat specifically for two distinctive reasons, her passive and her solo lane potential. The sustain from her passive and this starter is what’ll give her the best chance of thriving in solo lane. The upgrades however, I don’t believe are going to be the best for Tiamat.

Blood Soaked Shroud might be good on Tiamat due to her plentiful abilities and instances of damage but I’m not going to bet on it. Sacrificial Shroud I would advise to stay far away from. Tiamat has a lot of abilities she’ll want to cast often. Having that 5% health cost per ability is more of a detriment in my eyes for her. 

Sure, guys let’s get the dragon stacked, that’s a great idea!

Despite the title’s little sarcastic joke let’s discuss stacking for Tiamat and can it work? In my humble view, unless you’re a hunter or a certain Baba Yaga stacking is not in your best interest. Book of Thoth and Warlock’s Staff have a lot of competition. Especially due to starters being crucial to have, mages generally have limited space for their choices so understandably these two items aren’t going to be able to fit.

Now if you want to stack on Tiamat, I believe it’s possible. But by all means it’s possible on anyone. Trust me I’ve seen a Ganesha build stacks and no it was not gauntlet of thebes. 

Book of Thoth is good if you want to stay around and cast frequently without worrying about mana. As a stance switcher, Tiamat definitely fits into that category. Plus possibly adding a shield with Book of The Dead could be fruitful with her Grounded stance. But the problem is that there’s limited room. Mages in general will also need their cooldown and penetration. With starters and boots staying around for most of the game, mages have little room to compromise.

Warlock’s Staff meanwhile is a better option for Tiamat stacking wise. It provides high mana, health, power and some penetration. Slap on some cooldown and this item would be perfection. The main competition however is Ethereal Staff. Which doesn’t require stacks to build and works of maximum health making it useful at every stage and is less time consuming.

Spears, a mage’s best friend

Let’s talk about possibly one of the best item trees for mages in general. Magical Focus’ item tree. Almost every mage can benefit from at least one of these items. ADC mages less so but there’s still some tempting options for them too.

Spear of Desolation and Spear of Magus in my opinion are going to be Tiamat’s best friends. The only mage not to benefit from the new spear of desolation would be Hel because she has basically no cooldown on her ult anyway. Tiamat having a very low cooldown with the occassional 8s off will let her keep casting her ultimates to her heart;s whim.

Spear of Magus is equally appealing if not more so. I say this for one simple reason. The damage bonus applies to all damage regardless of source. What does that mean? Tiamat’s little children will also be dealing additional damage which is not something to dismiss. Tiamat also is more suited to sustained damage so her kit in general will benefit from this item.

Divine Ruin is as always divine ruin. For ability mages this is your anti heal option. Since Tiamat does have some DoTs in her kit she can keep this effect sustained for longer periods of time.

Dragon Queen’s Hoard

Now let’s talk about some general items without putting them into specific categories.

Rod of Tahuti- I highlight this option because with the current passive it was always good for mages with sustained damage, Tiamat being no different. Now with it’s current and even soon to be nerfed state, it’ll continue in my eyes to thrive as an item for Tiamat.

Soul Gem- Mages with a lot of casting options such as Hel or Tiamat can get this item stacked very quickly. However considering Nu Wa don’t bet soul gem to work with your pets in any sense. Regardless casting frequently and being rewarded with sustain and extra damage is appealing for Tiamat. Especially in her Grounded stance so she can stay in a fight for longer in this stance.

Ethereal Staff- I mentioned this item while talking about Warlock’s Staff. For the Tiamat’s who like to be Grounded and in solo lane. I think this item will compliment that playstyle the best. 

Lifesteal?- I talked about Soul Gem already. But for lifesteal in general I don’t think it’s going to be a prime state for Tiamat. She’s no Anubis or Hades. Pythagorem’s will be a option for those solo lane Tiamats who want a little more power and sustain will still benefit the whole team.

Bumba’s Dagger- Without a doubt I think this will be a jungle Tiamat’s best choice. She’s a caster who’ll need the mana recovery this item will provide. But even so Bumba’s Hammer has a lot of competition and while the passive is beneficial. Tiamat might not be auto attacking a lot but she does have range which puts her above others when it comes to using this item effectively.

Right this has been a long post with limited experience on Tiamat personally. I hope at least a little might be beneficial and if I’m wrong well I’m wrong.

Rant (part 2)

Right I’ve got three people reblogging my initial reaction post who clearly didn’t read my ‘rant’ and an anon harassing me in my ask box who didn’t read it either and who evidently doesn’t get the hint that they’re being ignored, I’ve chosen to make a separate one so I can address all issues brought up in response to my post. But like I said if you had read my post, you would have seen the disclaimer. So please don’t pretend like you did or try and criticise me like you did. When you read it, then, and only then will I accept your comments as a rebuttal to my own. I’m not trying to silence your opinion on it or over shadow it with my own. You wanna express your opinion; you’re entitled to that and I’m very happy to discuss this on tumblr messages, I’m a very open person to friendly debate and acknowledge we’re going to have differences in that.. But I need to politely request you make your own post and do not hijack mine, or send me anonymous abuse, you will be blocked, thank you for understanding.

I’m not trying to be rude, I’m not trying to ‘fall out’ with people, and I’m not trying to cause arguments, I just wanted to express my own opinion and I shouldn’t have to justify why I’m calling Hirez out for a second time, just because you can’t be bothered to read my initial post or Hirez Ajax’s (which I also broke down and explained in my own). That is your problem. Like I said I had no wish to fall out with anyone, hence why the disclaimer was right next to the TL;DR so everyone who read it would see it.

HEL NERFS

I am not biased on Hel, as I said in my initial post, I acknowledged that some of the nerfs were needed and rightly so. But also in my post I discussed the concept that Hel’s kit was transformed to predominately poke and wave clear, and through Hirez reducing the radius on her dark 1, it affects her ability to poke successfully. The reason why it passes through minions is because it’s a wave clearing ability. Through the reduction in radius, yes it’s a small amount, but it still effects her if you take into consideration the radius of other god’s abilities, how shes doesn’t have an ultimate, how her dark 1 averages in damage with other mages such as Poseidon (who actually has an ultimate).

Hel is not a support. Don’t even try that unless you’re in a team with four other people who are willing to work with you on it via Voice chat. Aror does what the fuck he wants, even when it doesn’t make sense, but Aror is a pro for a reason.

Hel is a Mage and not a Support, although it is a viable option, it’s much like playing Aphro support and doesn’t work very well if you actually wish to make an impact  in game and help your ADC effectively i.e. not take all the farm for a start. Not to mention Aphro works best when bonded to a melee character like an Assassin. This is why Hades’ category was changed as well and why Hirez need to consider adding another classification to thegame where these types of characters can go.

Not to mention Hel hasn’t got enough CC to do much, her heal is already quite weak seeming as you need people to be running directly in front of you or stand still and most people like to run from side to side when you’re trying to heal them (which I’ll never understand), her 3 is a tick heal, so if you need help immediately you better hope that I land that one while you’re moving around or you’re fucked. If you reduce her movement speed from 25% to 10% that also removes my ability to  get you the fuck out of there, my movement speed does not make you immune to slows, and from what I’ve counted myself, lasts for 2-3 seconds, not to mention her inspire has a radius of only 30 whereas Heavenly has one of 55 units:

“ Using this item increases the Movement Speed of allied gods within 55 units by 30% for 5s, makes them immune to Slows, and makes them immune to Basic Attack Movement Penalty.”

Not to mention it  costs you mana, in which Hel’s mana pool is already pretty dire so it wouldn’t be that often anyways. And you can’t really compare Nike’s 6% to that because Nike’s MS is for everyone throughout the whole game and costs no mana at all and also provides power buff of up to 8%.

And yes in fact, had you read my original post I made a comment on the win %,

“And no one can throw the winning % at me because Hirez Ajax himself said they were untrustworthy and unreliable.

“Her ranked win % stats can’t even be trusted because her play count was so low.  Players very strongly believed that she was weak, but this was not the case. This put us in a pretty interesting situation.“ (4.1 and up)

Yes I’m aware as more people learned to play her better there was a turn in win %, But that is not an excuse to nerf the viability out of her if you’re not willing to do it for other Gods such as Nike. Especially if you reached your ideal goal and a happy medium. It even goes to show that if you keep nerfing her it won’t change her win %, so if that’s the reasoning behind ignoring the community you really need to re-think that.

 “ We have seen her play count increase greatly in ranked and casuals all while her win % continues to be at the top of the pack. Now the community perception is finally aligned with the actual stats. This is always one of our top goals. “ “REAL example: Nike is one of the most winning gods in SMITE history, even after many nerfs she is currently still a top god in every measurable way. There are no buffs planned for her soon.”

WHY I AM SO MAD ABOUT THE NERFS

My post is actually more in concern of Hirez ignoring the community, which is what makes these particular nerfs so aggravating. Hirez ignore the community but continue to give themselves pats on the back for pretending to listen and care about community feedback and what we have to say. If you didn’t bother reading my post about Hel, or dont particularly care about her, or you aren’t much of a reader;  I would suggest perhaps watching Duke Sloth’s video on the Midnight Dove Awilix skin. It basically discusses a similar aspect of Hirez doing “whatever the fuck they wanna do” under the guise of  "listening to the community”  

If you would rather have another example of Hirez likes to ignore the community take for instance the Anubis Tier 5? People voted more for what is now Prototype Scylla, not another Anubis skin. What about some of the community asking for an LGBT skin for Pride? Yeah sure it hit Smite in the Summer of Smite event, but how long was that after Pride? Also wow, Hirez listened to the community for once and reward themselves like they had done this great and amazing thing, but why should we applaud fish for swimming?  Overwatch was doing it well before Smite, and doing it better might I add.

If you wanna discuss any of this further just message me, I’m more than happy to talk about all of this on DM,I really hope that my stance on all of this is a lot clearer now. It’s not the death of Hel no, but it doesn’t help her case. Sorry it took so long to post this I’ve been super busy.
