Just finished watching the new teaser clip for TDP Season 4 and It was absolutely beautiful yet purely emotional. And I noticed that there were some comments saying that Rayla's decision to leave Callum, who I sincerely symphasize with and genuinely feel for him very much, were selfish and unnecessary. However, I completely understand and sincerely empathize with her actions and why she did what she did. This is not to criticize or disregard anyone's opinion or perspective. This is just to shed some light on Rayla's decision. Let me explain:
The reason why TDP is a phenomenal and beautiful show is because it consistently demonstrates and represents time and time again that each character has many severe flaws yet very strong, sympathetic and understandable goals and reasons as to why they do what they do. It doesn't make any of their decisions right, and alot of their choices are wrong or not always smart and very much misguided, but that every one of them deserves to be treated with the same open mindedness, compassion and empathy as well as encouraging the audience to put themselves in the situations and/or positions of what these characters are going through and what made them reach their breaking points.
For Rayla, there are so many conflicting and overwhelming emotions that she's going through in the first 3 seasons and in Through The Moon. But imagine her situation: Rayla's not only going through some of the worst stages of grief, guilt and trauma in her life, but having to come face to face with the heartbreaking realization that she's litterally lost almost everything she ever cared about. Losing 3 of her parents, being ghosted from her home, not able to see or talk to Ethari, her other father figure, thus losing her entire support system. Then coming to find out that what she thought she had to do to avenge her family's honor was all base on a lie because it was revealed that her parents were not traitors. On top of that, not even having the answers as to what happened to her family, but knowing that Viren was behind all of it. Which is why she didn't want to involve Callum in this, hence why she left.
But part of it is also because Rayla has no support system like what Callum and Ezran have. Which is why they can't help her nor understand her. In order for her to truly comprehend and process her situation and what she's lost. Of course, it doesn't make her choices right, but I completely understand and deeply sympathize as to why she did it.
Even though it'll be very difficult and challenging when they reunite, I genuinely believe that they will overcome these phases and realizing that they are stronger together.
P.S. Please give me a Callum/Ethari teamup in Season 4. It needs to happen. Let them both be reunited with Rayla and shower her with love, care and affection. All 3 of them need a hug.
Let's Go TDP Season 4. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ‘
