out of the bedroom charles is just such a genuine sweetheart that yes, he will hold your bag, and of course he'll hold your shoes, and obviously he'll buy you that necklace. youre his girl, taking care of you isn't only natural it's a must. and he feeds into it so much, like truly to a ridiculous extent.

he's the type to still hold your hand and use it like his own while doing things that require both hands so he doesn't have to let go just because he knows you want to be held at all times at all costs. all it takes is some well-timed puppy dog eyes and anything you ask for is yours in an instant. he's just so happy at the prospect of making you smile that he can't fathom telling you no or letting you go even for a second.

in the bedroom, he's nearly the same. anything you whine or plead for sounds so pretty he just can't tell you no. you want more, he's giving you so much you can't even handle it. you want it harder, softer, slower, it doesn't matter what it is he's immediately groaning and complying. he is not one to say no to his girl, even if it means overstimulating you both to high hell in order to do so. he never makes you work for it, and he never teases for long, because he wants to hear you moaning and blissed out ASAP.

Things I need in a Reverse Robins AU

-I don’t care what the order is but please let Duke and Jarro be adopted before Damian is taken in! I need Damian to be jealous of an alien starfish, my bones require it 😭

-Duke ans Damian make Jason and Dick’s lives so difficult… not as antagonist and purely because they snuck out and caused so much havock that Bruce now has a sixth sense for when his kids want to act up. They cannot even attempt stealth because Duke and Damian did it better.

-I want Duke and Damian to be those kid brothers that never got along. They used to regularly ‘spar’ (fist fight) but Dick, Cass and Jason don’t believe it because they get along so well now? Tim and Steph are obviously lying.

-A grown Dick Grayson being so mad because he went his whole life wanting to be taller than just one big brother, one! And he never gets it 🥰 (Him and Tim are the same height. He hates it w a passion) Technically he is taller than Jarro. But so is Ace and Tidus, that accounts for literally nothing.

-In contrasts to his big brother’s stealth and sneaking out shennanigans, Tim just straight up lies to Bruce when he wants to take off with YJ, vaguely saying their plans (baseball, trip to some histprical landmark, chilling on Bart’s new ride) So while Bruce blames Duke and Dami for his greys, he says that Tim is the only reason he isn’t fully grey because he’s so responsible and considerate and always tells Bruce everything. (Tim tells Bruce exactly three things, two are half-truths and one is the boldest lie in town 😇 Bruce is nonethewiser.)

-Running off of that, I want Tim to be the sneaky middle child always in chaos, but I want Dami to know this and point it out to Bruce and gst shut down (like Candace Flynn levels of bad)

-Dick is spoilt by his many older siblings. He knows and takes advantage. I’m talking like 18yo Dick Grayson showing up at 22yo Jason’s place when Jason is at College and Jason returns home to find his little brother wearing his robe, eating hia cereal and asking if he can borrow Jay’s car because Bruce is hiding his keys until Dick actually gets a drivers license, which he doesn’t need because he hardly ever drives anyway 🙄😒 Jason tells him to fuck off, kicks him for not throwing thw empty cereal box away and asks where tf he thinks he’s off to anyway??????

-I want Cass to be a bratty younger sister, but only to Jason. She’s happy to hangout and cherishes her time with all her brothers, but she terrorises Jason. Purposefully is quieter when walking near him to frighten him, steals every comfy, bright hoodie he owns, wiggles into his bed and leaves her stuff for him to pick up, clean. She happily helps with chores until Jason asks and suddenly, she did not hear him, she was ‘busy, calm down grumpy.’ I want her looking at his school work and making faces at him if he tries to help her. I want her to want nothing more than to bite Jason, but also have him be her secret favourite brother. I need them to be best friends but the sort who will sell each other out for a single corn chip.

-Dick convinces Damian to help him steal an elephant. If Damian weren’t so weak for his baby brother he’d think about how even tge manor is not large enough to comfortably house an elephant. Duke isn’t completely sure it’s a good idea, but he trusts his brother’s to be smart enough to think this through ☺️ (they have not and will not think the logistics of owning an elephant through) Tim is fully aware this is a bad plan, he’s just even worse at saying no to Dick 💀 Steph is so mad that she has to be the voice of reason among these idiots 😒

-Tim dropping out of High-school actually leads to a huge fight lol. Bc Duke and Damian have Masters and Jason is looking into Ivy Leagues and Cass adores you Tim you need to be a role model 😠 Tim moves to San Francisco and doesn’t talk to Bruce for months after that fight. He still regularly contacts his siblings though.

-Personally don’t love Jason dying in Reverse Robin AU’s, but you know if Joker killed him at 15 he’d be dead in two weeks tops. Oh you want to kill the baby brother of a trqined assassin and Tim, one bad hour away from villany, Drake-Wayne? You think Duke would stop them? Dick? You think wrong. Dick might even try to jump ahead of the line. Cass is perfectly happy to shut her eyes and pretend she cannot see her brothers planning 🫢 The Joker would die a slow and painful death. Steph and Duje would run Batman distraction. (Bruce actually has a support network and two kids younger than Jason who are grieving. He’d need to be a parent and help them with their grief. He’ll probably be shit at it, but he’d still need to try.)

-When Steph starts college she occasionally visits the manor, liberally fills her bag with spare socks, new towels and non-perishables. Alfred doesn’t mind. Bruce does, but only because he’s more than willing to buy it for her and she will kick him if he even glances at any of his credit cards or bank accounts while she is near.

- Barbara probably has a crush on Steph and Tim. Like not a serious, I want a romantic relationship crush. But like ���Steph is so strong and pretty and she’s so smart Dick, she wants to be a Doctor that’s so cool!’ And Tim is that weird crush you can’t describe. Like Matthew Gray-Gubler. He looks sorta like a raccon and an addict, but he’s weirdly handsome and can work a computer like no one else, ‘isn’t he so smart Dick?’ Dick doesn’t know whether to be jealous or to laugh at her because. Like. Really??? That’s who you think is cute from all my amazing big brothers ans sisters?

-Dick, as youngest brother, probably has the most eclectic music taste. He listens to classical, trap music, K-Pop, scremo, RnB, showtunes. Just all genres. He doesn’t love all genres, bit he k ows enough to have a super weird road trip playlist.

-Dick also always has to deal with his friends, civvie and otherwise, having crushes on his siblings.

-Jarro barely spends holidays with the family, but he gets presents put aside for him and is the most patient, most fun big brother of the batfam. Damian still hates him, but will begrudgingly buy him gifts and invite him to family events because unfortunately, Jarro is his sibling. -Because he's never around, Jarro is the favourite older sibling, with Jason, Cass and Dick always making him projects from school. Duke, Dami and Tim see Jarro more, since they love going to see the JL or going to space and don't care that Bruce disapproves. They will either lie to Bruce or sneak out or just leave the manor 'Because I am a grown ass adult B, you can't ground me.' Steph does not like space or the JL half as much and is more busy studying/working than the other three losers. (affectionate)

-Gotham villains are in shock when, after having highly predictable vigilantes who just come in through the front/back door (Duke and Damian) they are faced with vigilantes who will in fact bazooka an entry way open (Jason and Cass)

Hello! I’m working on some OCs of mine, and one of them is a genderfluid Black person that has a spectrum of femme to masc presentations. Obviously a lot of that is going to be with clothing changes, accessories, and whatnot, but I want to have some hairstyle variety in there too!

I’ve read your guide to Black hair and asked around, but a lot of the hair styles require a lot of time to do, and aren’t something you could switch between in the few week timeframes between presentation switch ups (not unless he was spending lots of money on getting her hair done monthly lmfao).

So I want to ask, what is a basic way of wearing Black hair that allows for multiple style changes and isn’t gender specific? :)

The afro is already gender neutral, as it is the hair growing out of our heads!

For whatever reason Google doesn't believe in showing me women and men in the same pictures with afros right now 🙄, but yes. From short cuts, to mid sized, to full, afros themselves are gender neutral. The shorter the afro, the easier it is to rewash and switch up- but it may also mean less variation, especially since you're making it sound like this character doesn't want to put that much effort into it. Accessories are key- a clean part and a couple bowties or flowers were my go to when my hair was in an afro.

Me personally (and especially since you said the character is genderfluid) hair is hair, and anyone with enough confidence to rock something can do it regardless of presentation. 🙌🏾 But there are "more feminine" styles, if that's something you want to get specific on.

The Rookie 7x08: "Wildfire" Review (Part 1 of 2) – Finally! A Valid Reason for Chenford Separation

Spoiler alert! (obviously 🙄).

(Part 2)

After breaking the law, Tim Bradford broke up with Lucy Chen, because he thought he was not worthy. This doesn't make sense. Tim joined a therapy group as a redemption act WHILE he was still a policeman. He didn't quit from being a cop. Why couldn't he also still be in relationship with Lucy, while doing the therapy?

Fans accused Alexi Hawley, the showrunner, for dragging the love story to maintain viewership. What other reason could he have for regressing a solid relationship into a will-they/won't-they shit, when the audience has already known what the result would be? Tim and Lucy are clearly still in love with each other. They will be together again. The question is WHEN, not IF. The longer Alexi takes the time to reunite them, the more impatient we are.

A near death experience in ep. 7x08 "Wildfire" brought a love confessions out of Chenford. We love it. However, more than that, we got a glimpse of an important reason WHY Alexi insisted to break their relationship: Lucy is still under Tim's chain of command.

When Tim and Lucy were together for the first time, Tim had to either take a boring desk job or move to Metro Division to keep their relationship. This brought another problem into the writers room. It was difficult to write Tim working a case with the rest of the main casts. How many cases required the two divisions working together closely? On top of that, the show needed to pay more actors to be the Metro team members and leader. This storyline was not sustainable in the long run.

In the hospital scene of ep. 7x08, Lucy uttered her intention to take the sergeant exam. As Tim said, should Lucy passed, she would not be under his chain of command anymore. This would solve the aforementioned problem. Tim could still be part of the team WHILE being in relationship with Lucy at the same time.

Why didn't Alexi simply use the 'chain of command' reason to break Chenford apart? It more makes sense than Tim's 'I'm not worthy' excuse. It's probably beacuse Tim loves Lucy so much, more than he loves his career. Tim was willing to move to another division, and basically to regress his career, for Lucy (awww 🥰💞😍). Thus, Alexi should come up with another reason to break them up until Lucy passed her sergeant exam.

There's a risk in dragging a will-they/won't-they storyline for too long. Viewers could lose their patience and abandon the show altogether. It happened in Grey's Anatomy. Like Chenford in the Rookie, Jackson Avery and April Kepner in Grey's Anatomy have already had a proper built-up before being a couple. However, after marrying them, Krista Vernoff, its then-showrunner, decided to break the couple apart, then paired them with other people. Jackson and April clearly still had feelings for each other. Still, Krista insisted to drag Japril's separation longer, probably to keep the audience watching. The effect was the opposite. The prolonged dragging of their love story made some viewers, including me, lost patience and abandoned the show altogether. Even worse, before Krista could reunite Japril, Sarah Drew (who played April Kepner)'s contract re-negotiation reached a dead-end, so the character had to be written-off in a very disappointing way.

A contract re-negotiation between an actor and the producer sometimes reaches a dead-end, typically because the actor would ask for a raise, while the show have to cut cost due to decreasing rating/viewership. The Rookie is in its seventh season already, and the recent ratings are not as high as its earlier seasons. I hope Chenford would be reunited before Eric Winter and/or Melissa O'Neil's contracts expire. Based on the progress in ep. 7x08, the showrunner seems to think the same.

I'm going to probably explain this really badly 😝 but here goes.

I was wondering about your thoughts on how they used sound clips that were not from the footage the viewer is seeing in ep. 3? I'm not sure what you would call this type of editing but a moment I found peculiar was when they were trying on the North Face clothes.

We see the 3 of them going through the items/trying different things on, then we see JK trying a jacket, then Jimin with a jacket on turning around.

The audio doesn't match. You hear JK talk about the clothes. Then Jimin asking how he looks to JK. (not to mention how the messed up subtitle saga continues 🙄)

The second time I noticed the same type of editing happen was at the end of the episode at the go-kart place. After JK did his circling of his go-kart in front of Jimin & Taehyung, we see Jimin do that frog thing lol then we have a wide shot including both scenery and them in the corner chatting, then a drone shot, and the audio is of Jimin & JK talking about the day's activities with added music as well.

This second case felt right to me. It gave a bit of reflection and wrapped up the episode. 

But in the first case, I’m a bit confused. What was the creative choice there?

Not having appropriate footage of them (i.e. 1 person was not decent/not covered up) when they were having that conversation trying on the clothes? Then why use the audio at all? There wasn’t consistency in the use of this type of editing choice so it stuck out to me.

Anyways, just looking for some insight from someone with knowledge such as you.

Hello there! I'm so thrilled you sent this in! I love chatting about this stuff and you helped me notice something with this scene as well.

To your point, yes, there are usually a few reasons why editors will play audio from one scene as a voiceover for another.

It's an extremely useful tool for transitions, helping to build a bridge between two scenes.

In traditional TV and movies it's also most frequently used as a bandaid to cover when they want to change the lines an actor says after they've already been filmed.

It also can be purely stylistic. They did this in this episode at the end of the bit where vmin talk to jk on his bike for their mafia/hitman role play. The final dialogue as a voiceover helped continue the fun and fantastical moment.

For the moment you mentioned when they're changing clothes, I suspect it's edited this way purely as a utility for one reason: The guys aren't wearing their mics so there was no audio that matched up with the moment they decided to show. I'd easily wager there was a brand deal with the North Face to have the members wear some of these clothes as product placement. In that case, brands usually will have requirements about how much screentime specifically highlights their product and my even require approval of the final segment. The guys are obviously used to this so they made sure to record some good dialogue when they did have their mics on but the footage we got is more dynamic than them just complimenting straightforward to a camera. That would be my guess as to why this specific moment was edited like this.

Fun fact though: Tae never put his mic back on after getting out of the pool until after they put these clothes on. And JK only donned his while JM was taking that pic that was only the top of Tae's head. I'd wager they flipped the chronology of when Tae took his scooter ride cuz he and JK both have mics on when he gets back and I highly doubt Tae wouldn't have walked right by him if Jimin was still asleep on the ground when he got back.

Anyway, thanks again for the ask. I may be incorrect about why anything was done this specific way in these episodes but it's fun to chat about the possibilities.

"british vs american english" takes up like 0.1% of what we do in english class, like we had maybe one or two lessons in our lives where we talked about the differences for a bit. otherwise it’s really just "here, british vocabulary, pls study it for the test tomorrow, but OH, we‘re also reading an american novel for class now, have fun", and it makes writing in english hard sometimes😭 especially when it comes to dialogue and slang bc like obviously we didn’t learn about american 40s slang so SORRY we can’t write a young bucky barnes very well 🙄

I think overall there’s one of two „big“ problems happening for people who have a problem with TOWL (racists and the likes aside… 🙄).

1- The misunderstanding that this was truly much more a Rick and Michonne story than a TWD one. This was not TWD S12. It was about telling the story of these 2 characters and being able to put a dot at the end (or a dot dot dot). And you’ve laid all of that out perfectly. Like yes, in TWD, Beale (& the CRM) would have been draaaaagged out. But this was much more of a Terminus approach than a Saviors one if we will…

2- TWD was never the most ..subtle show. They tended to hit the audience over the head with stuff. And I’m not sure I would go as far as calling TOWL subtle outright either (idk, didn’t think about this until right this moment lol -obviously elements of it are, sure -just as elements on TWD could be on the subtler side) but compared to TWD, it certainly is lol. And there has been a very big „media literacy“ and „basic comprehension skills“ problem happening for a minute now. And I really don’t say this to be mean or make fun of people or anything but these are just facts. Some people really struggle with getting the information when they are not being hit over the head with it, over and over and over again. After the finale I saw several posts on my tl of people wondering why this, that or the other was not addressed or how/why this, that or the other did happen… and I was utterly confused because those things they claimed were missing were very much shown? I was like, there was literally a scene dealing with all of this? And it didn’t require any reading between the lines to be honest, no subtext, it was very much the text of the scene?! So it seems like some people just didn’t get a lot of things that were happening 🫤

(BTW I don’t mean that even if someone didn’t have these specific problems with the show, they MUST love it then. Likes and dislikes etc etc. As much as I really loved the show as a whole, if I decided to put down the Richonne-colored glasses I wanted to and did watch to the show with.. I’d definitely have a few complaints lol, though still very much enjoyed the show even then)

That's definitely what happened. And to some extent, I get why, considering Rick and Michonne are 2/3 of the main show's Big Three. But when the press and promos started, and people were still talking about some Marvel-style meet-up, I was like...oh they're definitely not listening to what's being said, because it's six damn episodes, and also The Richonne story, not the Team Family jamboree. And then acting as if it's somehow 'insulting' to the rest of the characters if Rick and Michonne didn't talk about them. The man had PTSD so bad, he couldn't remember his own son's face. Why would you think it would be good time for him to pause in the middle of his wife telling him about a traumatic moment during her pregnancy to ask about anyone else? Please be fr.

I feel you on the comprehension thing, which is nothing new for this fandom. The fact that so many people legit thought Rick didn't know how to drive stick and questioned the 'realism' of it but never stopped to think that it was because he only has one damn hand. Y'all were fine with every silly ass moment that happened in the main show, that was either sheer dumb luck or handwaved away, but now we need a complete breakdown from experts on how Rick managed to fight off walkers one-handed. Now y'all want the realism, when you've been so giddy for weeks because you need one of them to die for the show to be 'interesting'.

I'm really not listening to people who need the narrative to hold their hand through everything, or need to see every piece of the plot onscreen for it to be considered 'legitimate'. (I'm officially banning the phrase 'plot armor' for the foreseeable future).

People didn't get things, because they don't take a minute to sit with the damn material anymore. From live reactions videos to live tweeting/blogging, people are just watching TV to make content and have an online moment, not for what's actually being shown. And yeah, TOWL isn't perfect, but the minor criticisms I have for it doesn't take away from the fact that it is very enjoyable and easily the best material from the TWD landscape in a long time.

(sidenote: I will say one of my favorite things from these past six weeks is everyone struggling to figure out the overall TWD timeline, lmao.)

Yeah... I choose to live and enjoy life and media with less caution, holding the show to higher standards than "avoiding backlash" and I hope they wouldn't pander story telling to a falsely perceived audience demand. I feel like they stick to their instincts and artistic intent and will portray their vision in full. Implied/open ended isn't going to work for Will's character. It's the physical expression of his sexuality that's required for his storyline or history will show that these creators are cowards.

The "many characters" excuse is thin. The episodes are long. They've developed relationships in the span of time of a season and Byler has been the series long arc. And Will is a big focus this season. He needs the meaty, weighty storyline. To be honest - shows like this rely on a romance. We're there at different stages for most others. A "get together" makes for compelling TV. Robin/Vickie will be one as well, but they are second tier characters. Mike and Will are mains. A breakup is interesting, a new relationship is interesting - so that's also narratively what Byler also serves.

I'm keeping my answer pretty level here because there's so much I can get into about continuously feeling distressed about the gay relationship in the show always being downplayed as "it'll be totally fine if they're just implied, open ended, subtle, maybe the characters will go separate ways and meet in the future, we don't have time, they'll never show them super romantic" WHY can't they be afforded that arc??? Like everyone else. We know why, I know why. So I'm not gonna relent to accepting that as to protect myself. I'm out here and totally chill with expecting a raised bar with these two. Not gonna settle for low expectations and scraps either 😘

Idk if you’ll post this & respond/share your thoughts, but this is what I think:

Chris has been talking about quitting for literal years. He always brings it up, but has also continued to work. From your insightful discussions, Nancy, it’s honestly apparent that Chris doesn’t care/doesn’t have the drive or passion like Pedro, for example, or anyone else in his age range - hungry for work, working towards something, critical acclaim, awards, etc.

It was starting to look that way, though, after Endgame with Knives Out and Defending Jacob - even with last year’s work for Lightyear & Grey Man. But at some point after, for whatever reason, it looked like he gave up. Maybe COVID & his mid-life crisis like you’ve brought up before? Maybe it was because of the $$$ performances, reviews, the fact he got no “acclaim” - Idk. It really seemed like he was trying and giving it all he got, though. It honestly was looking like he had a plan and was driven to get *somewhere* with his career & it honestly did look like he was going to get there. (At least that’s how it was looking to me.)

But then with the recent con appearances and these 3 recent films, Idk - it all just turned into “money grabbing.”

My theory? And I hate bringing it up, but maybe like you said, he gave up easily & around the time you know who came into the picture, and all these “money grabbing” things he’s been doing has to do with his new life, now? Maybe his plans changed because his personal plans changed too, you know? New life? Two weddings? Honeymoon? He’s the “bigger earner,” Idk. Maybe it’s to “pay off” all this stuff and his new life - maybe he truly doesn’t care anymore other than to make quick $$$, and that’s it. He’s going to ride off into the sunset, to live the comfortable lifestyle he wants, with the life he wants (apple picking and pumpkin carving day in and day out, while roller blading with his kids)? And going forward, he’ll do con appearances here and there & similar projects to Red One & Ghosted - because it’s quick $$$ & barely requires any effort on his part, you know?

Just my theory. But I can see this.

Then again, if there’s one thing I’ve learned from being in this fandom & especially over the course of the last couple of years - who knows anything anymore 🙄

So here's the thing that used to come up in old interviews all the time until the Marvel years. His ego (or self-esteem, however you want to call it) was obviously very easily bruised by being in projects which turned out to be universally panned projects. It really, really impacted him. He commented on it frequently in interviews, and you could tell it really did a mindtrip on him; he seemed almost despondent about being in "bad projects" for reasons beyond his control. But then look what happens when that trend starts to reverse in 2021 with Lightyear. That same equivocal talk from years ago has returned. His seeming disinterest in his career has returned. also, how does hamas know to differentiate between the jews of israel and the non-jews? they literally kidnapped a young bedouin hijabi and her family on october 7th, did they think she was a settler? or maybe, just maybe, is hamas a violent terrorist group that is not set on liberation, but destruction and domination? because that’s the only conclusion i can come to after seeing all of this. the fact that hamas kidnaps and murders literal CHILDREN is just further proof it isn’t about liberation. because young children are innocent by all metrics. they literally don’t understand war or countries or anything like that. so what benefit for the palestinian cause does it serve to kill children?

Have I ranted before about how the Devil's Square makes no fucking sense?

So I'm trying to write the next part of Batgirl, Repentant, and more fool me, that means I need to go back and re-read parts of Batgirl (2009) for research. And like what always happens when I do that, I noticed yet another detail that stops working when you stop to think about it for even a moment.

Because see, on the second page of the third issue, we get these two moments in rapid succession.

Scarecrow's hideout is in "Gotham's Western Quadrant, the Devil's Square," established in the previous issue as a bad neighborhood, quote, "Otherwise known as 'Thunderdome.'" This place is treated like it's a Big Stinkin' Deal for the first two arcs (maybe the first year? I don't remember clearly and I don't want to go any further down this rabbit hole than I have) of this series, but nothing about it makes sense.

We are never ever given a clear reason why this neighborhood is supposedly such a uniquely terrible place, but it's supposedly so bad that it's worth making a whole terrible philosophy lecture out of why criminals would choose to stay there.

But the closest thing we get is that, at one point, Professor Exposition describes it as "a demilitarized zone."

Which does not make any goddamn sense because that would require Gotham City as a whole to be the location of an ongoing military conflict. Y'know, like the one between the Koreas.

I can only assume, given Brian Miller et al's tendency to do zero research on even the most basic of plot elements (see also: labeling all of Stephanie's obviously freshman-level college classes with 400-level designations intended for seniors or grad students) that what he actually meant here was autonomous zone. Like the CHAZ, as imagined by your Republican uncle. The implication being that this is an area of town that's been completely abandoned by police and emergency services, reducing it to a lawless wasteland where criminals roam free. (A no man's land, you might say. 🙄)

EXCEPT. APPARENTLY. LITERALLY ONE ISSUE LATER. We get the panels I started this post off with, where Steph arrives at Scarecrow's hide-out in the Devil's Square and we get EXPLICIT confirmation that the police will be there in five minutes.

That's all to say nothing of the fact that it being "Gotham's Western Quadrant" that's been cut off makes zero sense on its face. Besides implying that's an entire QUARTER of the city that's just been completely abandoned, Steph at one point describes it as being "on the west bank of the Gotham River."

There is no west bank of the Gotham River. Gotham is on a series of islands off the coast of New Jersey. The west bank of the Gotham River is the MAINLAND where Bristol and the suburbs are.

Gotham's geography is super fluid and can change from book to book, but it being on an island connected only by a series of bridges was a big deal in this era and the only reason the No Man's Land concept even worked. If you're gonna rip that plot off, Miller, you gotta use an eastern neighborhood. Or a northern one. Or even a southern tip. Anything but west. That's like saying there's an east side of Chicago.

A little more info about today's "Hengdian" rumour and why bjyx are real Wang Yibo's antis

1. Bjyx spread a rumour that Yibo was in Hengdian based on some bxg's post that showed her Douyin indicating "7 km" while watching Yibo's Baseus post. A few words of clarification:

Two possibilities: Douyin ads location might show the nearest offline brand's store or it's just the application's bug (many users reported such unusual events)

Douyin DOESN'T show you the distance from another user!! It would require tracking another account's IP and would be a huge violation of privacy! Moreover it is simply illegal!!

Yibo's personal Weibo shows IP in Beijing today and we have no reason to believe he is not there.

2. The rumour was quickly refuted by Wang Yibo's Official Fanclub who is approved by YH to do such things.

But a very strange situation happened. Two original hot topics/ hashtags with Fanclub's clarification got supressed:

3. A Hengdian rumor is very dangerous because of another rumor that appeared at the same time. It is about an artist infected with AI/DS who is allegedly in Hengdian. Because of the rumor that bjyx spread, other Yibo's antis started to link him with that rumour.

Xiao Zhan's fan accounts, large and small, are obviously at the forefront of spreading this; linking him not only to AI/DS, but also once again to pros/titution.

A Fast Way to Fight the Worry & Anxiety (we are all feeling post election)

These thoughts bother us most when we are lying down trying to rest and our brains are to free roam and to imagine the worst for our futures. That is when this technique is most effective. (I do this exclusively lying down in bed when trying to sleep.) But you can do it anytime, sitting, standing, walking, or doing something that requires very little thought.

You concentrate on your breathing and only your breathing. You feel each breath in and each breath out. Thich Nhat Hanh (a well known Buddhist) suggests thinking these thoughts: With each breath in, "I'm alive." With each breath out, "I'm happy." (You can just shorten it to "alive" then "happy.") You may not be filled with bliss but just the temporary absence of intruding negative thoughts is a relief and feels a LOT better than twisting about in dread at the mercy of your imagination.

It takes practice. It is absolutely normal for our brains to wander. At the start your brain will wander every two to three breaths. Do not get mad at yourself. Our minds are slippery things and that is absolutely normal. Expecting expertise at this without practice is counterproductive because you will give up.

When your mind slips, just notice it, think, "Ooops" or "Oh well," and start over. You may have to restart 20 times after just two breaths. But you will improve. It takes a lot more work at the start but the work of concentration is balanced by the lightness you feel by not worrying. Even when you restart a lot, it still works.

Our brains can only concentrate on one thing at a time, so make that your breathing. That is why this truly works. It is not "enlightenment" you are after, it is the absence of negative thoughts.

Doing this enough makes actual changes in our brains. MRI studies have shown this technique increases your grey matter which act as brakes and a control on our thoughts, especially our negative thoughts. With enough practice you can learn to keep those thoughts at bay far more easily all the time.

This, of course, is "meditation" but I hesitate to use that term because that word comes with SO MANY preconceived, cartoonish, absolutely untrue notions about how meditation "should" be done. That is all baloney! You DON'T need to be sitting with your legs crossed. You DON'T need to have your hands resting on your legs with your palms up. You don't need to be sitting on a freaking mountain top! 🙄😂

No... do this nearly exclusively when you're trying to sleep because THAT is when our unbusy minds are most vulnerable to anger and to fears of the future that are so upsetting and keep us awake. Worries like those are a kind of pain that feels like it has no treatment. But it does!

This techniques has, obviously, been known for thousands of years but, in our Western culture we eschew holistic approaches as silly. We look down on them just because they are ancient. We think only modern ideas things have value. But, many of the best ideas were figured out a long time ago.

Western medicine prefers to prescribe sedatives which are addictive and which only treat the symptoms, not the cause which is worry. (Granted if your feelings are acute then get treatment. I'm not saying never take anxiety medications if you truly can't cope! Those meds work.) But meditation also works for above average worries that aren't pathological. It stops fear and anger immediately. It's free. It's immediate. You can add meditation to your treatment if you're taking Xanax.

Try this tonight when you're twisting in turning in bed fearing the worst like we all are. You are not alone. It's every other person with a good soul.

There are a LOT of good people in the United States (even some of the fools who didn't vote). We will take care of one another.
