Pleased to see that jazz is not very high up on the list of least favorite genres. It's such a fascinating and complex genre that is so often simplified to Kenny Loggins and elevator music that I was expecting more of a negative response. If I had to guess that's because the average person on this website knows nothing about it, but hey that's better than active revulsion!

And that is the ice breaker for Akaashi at least because he knows u have another side who isn’t cold and aloof like what he used to think. So he makes the effort to get to know you better (he hopes there comes a point where you can be urself like how u are with your friends)

But slowly and surely as you open up he sort of have butterflies in his stomach

the 3rd years would gossip like “Akaashi is smiling more these days” “please he only ever smiles when s/o is around” bokuto wouldn’t pick up the signs of Akaashi falling for you but when he does… oh boy

Pls bokuto here would make it SO obvious that Akaashi likes you. You probably would know Akaashi has some feelings for because of how loudmouth and obvious Bokuto is being.

And one day when someone is flirting with you or something bokuto is gonna be like “stophh, Akaashi likes her so she’s off limits!” IN FRONT OF U AND AKAASHI. And Akaashi just facepalms and becomes flustered because now it’s being said aloud

I think it’s a given that akaashi is a very patient person considering he is the setter for bokuto. And you say you want someone patient who will wait until you open up to him. And I think that’s perfect. He has the time and patience to get you to slowly warm up to him and he surely has that ability too.

This of course would make your relationship progress slowly. He doesn’t want to rush you and he wants you to open up at your own pace. This probably comes in forms of not asking, but waiting for you to come up to him. But at the same time, he would support you behind the scenes and do little things to show that he cares and is paying attention to you

This would come in forms of getting you little trinkets or items that remind him of you, cooking your favourite food, or silently putting on a crime show on. Basically anything to make you happy ❤️

Another thing about Akaashi is that he is calm and analytical. This means, whenever you are overwhelmed or overthinking or even having trouble expressing your own emotion, Akaashi could probably get a good grasp on what’s going on without you verbally saying. And he will do his best to help you solve whatever is going on

You are overwhelmed or overthinking? He will either A: pull you aside and get you to not think about it (to prevent brain overdrive). Or B: walk you through your dilemma and your thought process step-by-step and stopping you whenever you are overthinking. Then he would find out ways to help you through the dilemma.

Both scenarios ends in hugs and kisses, words of affirmation and other affection 💕 and he will tell you “you did well. Good job!”

But on the other hand, there are times where Akaashi himself overthinks (spoiler: ahemseasonfourahem) and this is where you can give him some advice. It’s a really symbiotic relationship where you two support each other wholeheartedly

I just want to say you hit the Jack-pot. This boy is so sweet istg.

He is a total gentleman. He holds and opens the doors, gives you his jacket, and when you two are under a umbrella, he makes sure that you are completely covered. He doesn’t care if one of his shoulders gets wet.

I can imagine him taking you to like a cat cafe or dog cafe or a chinchilla cafe. You like animals and he likes his coffee and what better way for a cute date. When you interact with the animals he would just have the brightest smile on his face and you bet he would take photos.

And when he misses you or is down he would just pull the photos on his phone and look at you because you make him so happy omg I’m crying

And if you tease him during the beginning of the relationship, he will probably blush a little and look away all embarrassed god forbid bokuto or his senpais being there. They would be like “akaashi flustered????? What????? s/o you have incredible power!!!!”

But he learns. Once in a while he will cheekily reply with something witty and just completely flipping the situation where it’s you who feels all warm and fuzzy

And and and and he’s absolutely amazed and charmed that you can speak and are learning so many languages. (He would probably ask you if he can learn with you.)

He loves seeing you dance. When you perform somewhere, he will be there to cheer you on and film you (if you want to be filmed). It’s the same with the photos. Seeing you happily dance so freely cheers him up. I bet there was one time where he was watching you dance and smiling on his phone in the practice room or somewhere and Bokuto’s just like “aGAASHIII SMILING?!?!!” And the owl boy would peek and he would quickly put his phone away. LMAO

Handholding, hugs (after practice he would want recharge hugs), small kisses to your forehead and cheeks, and gentle kisses on your lips 💖💖💖 tho I don’t think he would kiss you much in public. At most he would pull you to a less populated area and kiss you. He isn’t afraid to hold your hand or kiss you in public tho.

And dw, because he is honest and blunt so he shuts down girls wanting to flirt with him real fast. (He probably just says “I have a girlfriend” and walk off real fast. If you are with him he would pull you to him and be more affectionate. And after that he would reassure you that ur the only one.)

Poetry. Akaashi would be curious, but he doesn’t want to overstep his boundaries by looking at then when you don’t want people to see them. What does this guy do. He writes his own poetry and gives them to you. And you two talk about it and it can turn into a deep and philosophical convo. (He is wishing for the day in which you show your poetry to him and when you do, he would smile brightly but on the inside, he is so happy and overjoyed b/c ur comfortable enough to show him.)
