so obviously oswald is vampire coded (duh) but i personally strongly believe EDWARD is also vampire coded, but specifically in the romance novel trope-y way of an angsty vamp who is always at war with his true nature. a lot of his themes make sense with those particular tropes. like i think ed very badly wants to believe that he CAN be "good" and "normal" with the Love of A Good Woman and all that but every time he tries to seek out these kinds of relationships (with kristen, isabella, arguably even lee) it ends up cannibalizing itself bc he cant HELP his true nature. and whats more Vampire than that. so basically what im saying is theyre both vampires but ed hates himself for it bc repression. anyways

yes he suffers the classic internal battle of the monster 😔 the crazy thing about ed is that it is easier for him to accept himself as a killer than the truth of who he loves. that conversation in his apartment in early s2 tells us all we need to know... and yet he still strives for connection bc he's starved of it, and once he's seen by the other person he's: unaccepted for what he is "a psychopath" (kill them), unaccepting of being faced with it "i was never going to be who you wanted" (kill them), or completely accepted "i love you, i know you believe that now" (kill them). funny guy. i also think werewolf bc i think this is just a general monster trope, especially one which involves transformation/duality, and bc he's dog-coded LMAO. and another monster thing to play up is OBVIOUSLYYY the jekyll and hyde thing i think mad scientist ed would be v fun and we should've gotten more vials and beakers and green syringes and whatnot
