last time i participated in yumetober was like 2021 and i somehow drew for the entire month. this year i am weak. however i wanted to do something small for the current brainrots (both old and new)
don't mind my short drabbles under the cut lol they're based off of many yumetober prompts floating around. some prompts are dialogues while others are just ideas so yeethaw
himueri - "you've been staring for a while."
"have i now?" himuro couldn't help himself. after all, when it came to that focused, determined crease of her brows, he needed to just take an extra moment to admire her features. and then decide if he wanted to tease her or compliment her. although, he supposed doing the latter would be interpreted as teasing her nonetheless. so, a win-win for him? as he made his decision, he opened his mouth. though before words could escape him, erika had turned her head, peering up at him with narrowed eyes. he decided to pause whatever it was he was going to say, anticipating a snarky remark from her, or a snappy 'stop staring and go do something productive' scolding. neither of those happened, evidently, as she raised her left finger and hooked it neatly under his chin, bringing him closer to her. "himuro tatsuya-san, it's rude to stare," she grinned. "i didn't start dating an impolite person, did i?" certainly, not one of her bolder moves, but the suddenness of the gesture quite unlike her caused his cheeks to heat up immediately. clearing his throat, he shifted his head, curling his chin into the palm of her hand. "well... that depends. do you like impolite people?" he smiled, hoping to hide the acceleration of his heartbeat. "because i'll gladly be whatever you want." her nose crinkled. "that's too much pressure on me, i think. then i have to shape who you are." standing on her tiptoes, she jumped up to land a small peck on his cheek. "just stay the way you are, i guess. if i really have to choose a kind of tatsuya-senpai that has to be cheeky." he hummed, leaning his head toward her as she retreated. and then promptly pouted when she didn't follow up with another kiss. "how much longer are you going to give that game your attention?" "i just have one more chapter to--" himuro plopped his chin on her shoulder, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her to his chest. "fine, but you have to sit on my lap while you finish then." "are you gonna help me make choices?" she grinned, complying with his demand request easily. "after all, otome-senpai is bad at otome games, isn't he?" without responding to her taunt, he simply pinched the side of her body, causing her to squeak and jump in his arms. and then prompted a glare from her. to which, he could only look away and whistle innocently. well, certainly, the two of them made quite a pair of children.
huito - "did you know that moles are where your lover in your past life kissed you the most?"
linhui paused in her writing, immediately eyeing the man who spoke with suspicious eyes. "and where are you going with this conversation?" ayato's head was propped up on his palm, fingers lightly tapping the side of his face. it drew linhui's eyes to the beauty mark at the corner of his mouth, which appeared to be the topic of interest for the evening. quite unfortunately, the location of that beauty mark was too close to an area of interest she preferred. and that smirk on his face told her that he knew what she was interested in. but would he allow her to indulge? absolutely not. "i was thinking, in our previous lives..." he hummed. "you must have really loved kissing me. because look." one of his gloved fingers moved to tap his beauty mark. "this location is so devious of you." "why are you assuming i was your lover in a previous life?" she huffed. two could play at this game, she thought to herself, forcing her eyes to return to the paper. this infuriating man wanted to see how her calligraphy work was like and he was distracting her from the task at hand. it was like his sole purpose for their rendezvous was to make her explode after weeks of not seeing each other, it seemed. "maybe you had a different lover, and they hated kissing you. that mole isn't on your lips." "oh? an interesting theory." ayato rubbed his chin in thought. "and where is the proof for that theory?" "where's the proof for your theory?" "i asked first, huihui." linhui forcefully put the brush down. ayato watched with veiled interest as she reached over and grabbed the collar of his kimono, pulling him closer. her cerise hues seemed to glow in defiance, with ayato's observant gaze falling on her lips, which were curled in a cute little pout. "my proof, yashiro commissioner," she murmured, their faces now mere millimeters from each other, "is this." he never grew old of this feeling -- ah, the feeling of her lips effortlessly gliding over his, as if the archons themselves decided that there was no other way for them to exist. his happiness was short-lived though as she pulled away after a second. he chased her fruitlessly, for she shoved a hand between their mouths with a flushed smirk. "on the other hand, i happen to enjoy kissing you very much." with her other hand, she grasped his chin and squeezed it playfully, forcing him to make a duck face and making his beauty mark stand out. even despite the smug look in his eyes, she could see it, the hints of his cheeks dusted in pink. "whoever your past lover was? they missed out on this part of your body." he hummed again. thoughtfully this time, as one of his hands wrapped around her waist. "i don't know about that, huihui. i'm not convinced." she frowned. "that was irrefutable proof." "you're quite the messy kisser. if you hadn't noticed, you touched my mole many times." he chuckled. "in fact, it's impossible to kiss me without touching this part, you know?" linhui froze. shit, he was right. and he knew she was right. "ah, but i'm glad to hear you say that you enjoy kissing me so much. so my lover in this life has the same tastes as my lover in my past life~ i'm pleased to hear that." linhui grabbed the calligraphy brush and swept it upwards - of course, he deftly dodged it and clicked his tongue at her. "huihui, that's mean." "you are a--" she yelped as the hand on her waist quietly slipped into the opening on her back. "admittedly, i grow tired of this task. why don't we do something more fun?" "you were the one who asked me to do it," she scowled. "am i hearing a no?" "i didn't say that."
sunrou - piercings
sunday's eyes were shut closed, shoulders stiff as a board. roucao tilted her head, frowning in uncertainty. "are you sure you're okay with this?" "... yes." "you don't look okay." "it is temporary. i am not accustomed to being touched." he forced one eye open, attempting at giving her a reassuring look. admittedly, he was failing, but roucao didn't want to knock his efforts out where they were. thus, with a bemused smile she moved behind him. "if it'll help, i won't look at your face." sunday nodded slowly. "it's up to you." he extended his pierced wing toward her, indicative of the permission he was giving her. her fingers reached out gently. even if he had expected he touch, he couldn't help the flinch in his wing. he crossed his arms over his chest. why... i gave her permission, but why am i... he felt his cheeks getting a little too warm for his liking. scolding himself for how juvenile his reaction was, he willed himself to restrain the shudder that ran through his body as her fingers brushed over his piercings. "did it hurt?" she asked. an expected query. he wondered if the memory of her long-life self had ever experienced pain, if she were to ask a simple question such as that. "it did." "why do it if it hurts?" he paused. "i liked how it looked." she perked up, a grin curling on her face. "then i want one too. can you do one for me?" "why?" "because i want you to like how i look." sunday choked on his breath. once again, her boldness never failed to take him by surprise. "that's--" "... no good?" she tilted her head. he closed his eyes and frowned. "you..." "hm?" his wing involuntarily (or voluntarily) pulled itself from her curious hands and moved to cover his face. now he knew his cheeks were definitely red, and he was glad that he wasn't facing her for once. "i... like how you look already. so..." "sunday!" she swept him into a tight hug, nuzzling her nose into his neck. "i like how you look too! hehehe~" out of the two of them, perhaps she was the master manipulator.
