Just finished my nth rewatch of The Lost Boys, and it's only just now occurring to me that Sam probably tries to lead into telling his mom upsetting things about vampires every time with 'I think we need to have a really serious conversation about this' because he's imitating the language she and his dad used every time they wanted to lead into telling him and Michael upsetting things about their divorce.
