when i first watched fma:b back in march 2023, i thought i would manage to watch the entire thing without getting obsessed with a wlw ship. i was wrong. the second these two started interacting i immediately became enamored with the trust, respect, and intimacy that they share, and with the way they seemed to find in each other the same steely spirit, grit, and inner sense of self. their ability to communicate their philosophies, despite their differences, and listen to each other with ease and tenderness just. @machinerismsx's fic "An Open Invitation" is genuinely incredible. it's hilariously funny (there's lines in there i still think about and giggle), and also like. super hot. we didn't know anything about each other's fic projects til after i posted "recognition," but we were stunned to realize we'd written a lot of the exact same plot points, including what i refer to as The Curtis-Armstrong Alliance.

you may have noticed that in my compilation, sig and alex also had like, off the charts chemistry. m and i noticed that too! so in both of our fics, while sig and izumi are still married, they are also each get an armstrong all to themselves, lol.

Honestly, this work is packed with MASSIVE moments all throughout that I just cannot wait for everyone to read, but one big one that's been living rent free in my head for nearly 20 years as I've had unplanned hiatus after unplanned hiatus; After Ranma's Inner Senshi receive all their transformation items via mysterious means, Ranma receives a package (along with Shampoo and Ryoga) with a 'key' in it along with a note telling him/her to trust his/her heart and she'll know who the missing Outer is for her team. When Ranma (as Sailor NeoMoon) discovers that Ryoga is NeoUranus, she's suddenly not sure at all who the new Senshi is supposed to be if guys (besides herself, being...heh...genderfluid) can be senshi, too...until she sees Haruka and Michiru exchanging a private moment and realizes exactly who it belongs to, and it might just save Ryoga's life.

Deviation

Sunset is the first Freshman elected captain of The Friendship Games in Canterlot High's history, and in this universe the final round is settled by the highest ranking Alpha for both teams facing off in the combat ring. Sunset has barely been a human for six months, but she now must defeat the star student of Crystal Prep, the genius athelete and top Alpha student of the school, Shining Armor.

Double Isekai

When Happosai summons an oni to punish Ranma, the NWC are unprepared when the demon possesses Nodoka, who's already been dealing with temper issues. Now her anger has been turned up to eleven and is being fueled by a demon, and Ranma cannot bring herself to harm her mother.

Lost Little Wolf: The Minor Key

There's, like, only five chapters left of this thing, so the next big event I can't wait for is the resolution after the climax. As much as I'm okay with spoilers...this one is just too close to the end to spoil too much! 😜

And at This Point I'm Afraid to Ask

This one is a good 13-15 chapters into the future and there's LOTS of good stuff in the second raunchiest thing I've ever written, and readers of this work will understand by this point in the narrative that it's one chapter of plot, one chapter of smut, repeat. The following happens during a non-smut chapter and makes me giggle every time I think of the planned scene:

Ranma's polycule has moved out, mostly to get away from Ranma and Akane's parents so Ranma can live her best life as a transwoman...with LOTS and lots of private, free time for sex. Ranma's also discovered that she's a submissive bottom, and when her three butch lesbian girlfriends/lovers discover this they start doing some private role-play, including dressing in business suits and having Ranma wear a sexy maid's uniform while doing chores and 'chores.' One day, Ranma's mother comes over unannounced and, not realizing who's at the door, Ranma opens it while in full maid costume.

once again thank you for putting into words some of the worst problems i've seen/found in mcyt fandom that i just could not put my finger on. ever since i was first getting into dsmp & especially sbi, it always felt so baffling to try and talk about fanfic in the fandom because it was like people (vague hand wavey reference to twt fandom) were just picking and choosing at random which things were and weren't okay with NO basis. but like yeah oh my god its because of kink things. it's because they don't realize it's all kink things, but they'll latch onto and condemn the ones that "stick out" as objectively horny and make call out posts for it. without realizing they're writing the same exact things and just not realizing it's kink. like I'm remembering when sbi twt went to war about petnames and if using them in fic was okay or if it was creepy and it genuinely just boiled down to "it's okay when /I/ do it because I know I'm writing it in an affectionate/platonic way but when YOU do it it's weird because it reads as creepy/sexual!!" meanwhile the fics in question were written in the exact same manner and using the exact same words. LIKE ??

Yeah and like, I'm taking a bit of a different stance than Twitter, because I do think a lot of stuff being written in the SBI tags is kinky, but most of the time the authors are also trying to keep it legitimately platonic, and yeah, the streamers shouldn't see that, but my stance on stuff that the streamers shouldn't see is that we should keep it away from streamers, not that we should harass the people writing it off the internet. Just keep it on Ao3 and tag it and you're fine.

Like, my intent with all of this is not to shame people for having kinks. Almost everybody has at least one kink of some kind or another, and that's fine, whether you get especially into mind control or you find the idea of someone powerful being condescending and mean to you being compelling, or again, you just want someone in a parental role to take care of you and tell you you're good. That's fine. I can't overemphasize how fine that is. Lots of people have that. You can be super ace and also super kinky, even.

I do sometimes feel bad when I see writers who have obvious kinks who are very afraid of exploring any element of sex with that— like I am sorry but vore is not normally a platonic kink, omegaverse being fun for you is fine but it's not normally platonic, but they're desperately toeing that line and attacking anyone who comes close to implying that they've crossed it.

Cause most of what I've read, I don't think the authors are conciously shipping it. You do get the rare person in the tag where I'm like "if kissing wasn't illegal, would this scene have ended in this specific way, huh 🤨", but most of the time I think people intend to be keeping it platonic. But uhhhhhh the fandom tropes that we're all working with now go along with ship and sex in any other fandom, even if everybody's pants stay on in this one. So the people who wrote it know that THEY very intentionally kept it platonic, so THEY are in the clear, but YOU are obviously using a shipping trope so YOU have to be called out— and then the twitter cancellation mill grinds through another cycle, which is not helpful to anyone. What are you gonna do, shrug emoji.

Oh man thank you!! that sandwich was not planned at all, that just suddenly needed to happen in the narrative and then came out of nowhere. I enjoyed writing it a lot! For me the sicko moments were in many ways endless -- I've rarely written something that was just one after another like that, haha, that fic was the best kind of indulgence. But, absolutely one billion percent the thing I wrote that was most feral were the half-asleep scenes. (nsfw + omegaverse under cut)

Starting with the fleshlight scene, not only for the sex but for that feeling of the middle of the night, awake in bed next to someone who needs something. The deep-night scenes are a lot of what I was trying to say in the fic, and a lot of what I was trying to say was Sicko Moment. I love the intimacy; I personally attach a lot of feelings about queerness to those moments. Also they were where I let myself let them just get weird. "It's the middle of the night and we're exhausted who cares anymore" meets "it's the middle of the night and it is imperative that we, two soft animals, help each other out until the sun comes up". Again I just liked writing the sex. And the exhaustion. And the joke about Leon's phone password being his dog's name.

So about from this:

"Matthew’s little gasp is as relieved as it is horny, Leon things blurrily. Twenty floors down he can hear the faintest traffic noise, maybe. The slightest sound of wind between tall buildings. Matthew moans, strung out and wanting in the dark, but with that tinge of relief. Leon is giving him that relief, even if it’s just holding a sex toy steady for him to fuck into.

Leon nudges until Matthew’s thighs give up the battle and he falls on his side facing Leon, quads shaking faintly, fucking up into the fleshlight now held between them. The slick noises are louder. It’s fine. It’s just Matthew in rut, fucking because he needs to fuck at 2:47 in the morning. The scent of him rises, not as sharp as it was when they started, still bitter but filling out with something warmer. Cooking sherry hot in the pan.

I have never, ever written something faster or more easily than this fic. It was a miracle and I knew it even as it happened. If I remember correctly I really wanted rat!matthew to eat boba. I spent hours on r/rats trying to figure out if boba would be poisonous to rats.

I think the hard part was when Leon IS feeding a rat boba and the emotional plot started getting stuck-- like ok how do you end this! and then Leon is actually angry and upset and worried! Why! I didn't start writing it thinking that they had a history. But when Leon finally was like "I've seen you naked, calm down" re: rat stuff, it all came together. Hookup exes who Care, all along!

Trucker King - trucker ari levinson x female reader - ok this one wasn't hard to decide. it's easily the fic i'm proudest of and love the most. also, the only reason i didn't pick my whole trucker au is because that's a combination of many fics and feels a bit like cheating, but it's my favorite au hands down.

all the apple cider and no more haunted houses - enemies to lovers bucky barnes x female reader - this was the very first halloween fic i ever wrote! and honestly, i'm just so so so proud of it. i feel like it perfectly captures the vibes of early fall/early halloween season, and the sex scene is one of my favorites.

halloween is the perfect time for tricks—and treats - friends to lovers steve rogers x female reader - god, i just love writing filthy perv steve, and i liked the idea of these two idiots both thinking the other is too pure for their filthy desires, and then the moments when they realize they're actually on the same level 👌🏻 from a writing standpoint, i feel like i indulged in so many of my own personal fantasies and it was just really fun to write.

property of j.b.barnes - ex-stepdad bucky barnes x female reader - this is another one where i just loved writing it because i included so many of my favorite tropes in here, many of which i hadn't written before, like sugar daddy and 'just the tip' risky sex. i also wrote this at a time when i was also dealing with some potential housing issues and it was just very comforting to write a reader who had someone who'd protect her and take care of her, no strings attached.

the alpha next door - alpha neighbor steve rogers x omega female reader - my first omegaverse fic!! god, i'm just really proud of this one, both because i tried my hand at something new and because i love the way the dual pov turned out. it was just so fun to write.

i also need to include a couple honorable mentions: safe and sound with bucky barnes because, even at my ripe old age of 34, i'm still scared of thunderstorms and this is just such a comforting, self-indulgent fic and i love it so much; and the last first kiss with bucky barnes because the part where bucky breaks through reader's locked door because he couldn't fathom why she'd lock him out is still one of my favorite bits i've written.

Bucky is a male Omega which is really rare and means that everything is set up for female Omegas which sometimes makes him feel really uncomfortable or out of place and he likes to let people assume he's an Alpha cuz it's just easier that way.
