the lion guard does something those stupid cgi remakes could never do & that's admit timon & pumbaa are simba's parents via saying they raised him, them repeatedly calling him their "baby," & crying to the point of incoherence every time he's in danger. disney WISHES their cgi shit was HALF this good

#this is actually a trend i've noticed. the big budget movies keep things as cishet abled & white as possible #while the random tv show spinoff does the opposite & goes hard as fuck #examples off the top of my head: Jurassic World & The Lion King #hell even Spider-man. all the movies refuse to admit he's bi but. there's a whole cartoon where MJ doesn't even show up #& Gwen isn't a love interest at all. it's HARRY that Peter goes on dates & to dances with #the biggest & most dramatic identity reveal was with Harry #every time they have A Moment (even a little one) the background fades away into pastels & sparkles until it's just them two #& it literally does not do this with anyone else. Peter has no other love interest. he doesn't care as much as he does with Harry #GAY AS FUCK DUDE #''when are we going to get canon parksborn'' we did but it got cancelled like 4 times lol #when a cartoon isn't really that well known a special thing happens in that the writers can get away with SO much shit #example: The Owl House. couldn't get away with anything. was cut severely short #Emperor's New Groove. literally didn't even have a fucking script what was up with that #also i didn't expect TLG to like. actually be accurate to real life when it matters. that's neat
