Tabletoptober Day 15: Techno
The Al-Qed Exhibition for Novel Innovations
Friedrich Kay stared at the man standing at his door. This was a joke, or a mistaken address, or a particularly vivid dream. But there was no denying that the man held a letter sealed with a symbol he knew all too well, and it bore his name in clean black ink. This was an invitation to the Al-Qed, to potentially become one of the giants that future researchers would stand on the shoulders of. He had to gather his notes, start working on a presentation- he had to tell his daughter. Even if he couldn't get an investor, the fame of just the invitation would open so many doors for him.
Every year, the Juetrun government hosts the Al-Qed Exhibition for Novel Innovations, a fair that lets inventors across the world advertise their creations to some of the most powerful industrialists in Alestra. Each exhibitor has their expenses covered for the week that the fair lasts, as well as the cost of travel to and from their home country.
Receiving an invitation to display your research is considered a symbol of great prestige, and those that win over one of the titans of industry might find themselves launched into incredible fame and fortune. The highest accolade, however, is a deal with the Juetrun government itself. With the near limitless wealth and industrial capabilities of Juetrun Tabiatsa, nothing is impossible and any dream can be made real.
