hello!! i always love your takes and you are truly a joy to read. i hope you know that and you haven't been getting any harassment for your opinions at all. <3 you are a gem of this fandom and i read your blog like the newspaper.

i just wanted to get your take if you would like to give it - today i read a thread on twitter where someone said that the reason anya's ID is in the cockpit's locker is because curly stole it to prevent her from going to hr. and i had to just sit there stunned for a solid while because people are uncritically retweeting it saying it changed their view on curly and how he's pure evil etc etc when... even aside from the fact not having an ID would not stop her, the ID positions in the game are pretty obviously (at least to me) a metaphorical device? otherwise how is curly's in utility post-crash for example. they always seemed to me like they were showing up in moments/chapters and in places where that character had a connection. the choice of which ones are/aren't visible in the weird ID corridor later in the game (curly and anya's being covered by jimmy's) certainly makes me feel like they're not to be taken at face value, they're there to represent something. curly's whole sad enabling style is inaction as well, not direct and malicious action. he fails anya but he's not like that. and even aside from all that - why would anya even go to HR? pony express is a defunct company that punishes people for HR complaints. she's not going to get anything out of that. she seems mostly just to want to get through a harrowing time of her life with as little conflict as possible.

I have been receiving some hate here and there, mostly people who haven't even bought the game for themselves and only know of it through streamers who aren't very bright to begin with. As for your actual question, I too saw that post and I rolled my eyes so hard they almost fell out of my head. (ーー;)

Curly doesn't take Anya's ID to stop her from reporting to HR or anyone else about being raped or harassed, he took it because of the gun incident, and how he mentions that none of this has to be on their record, he's taking her ID to ensure that doesn't happen. I don't know how people constantly miss it, but not once in the game does Curly ever doubt Anya, blame or even try to praise Jimmy. Anya does not want to create conflict, she has a lot of worries about telling Curly about the possibility that he doesn't even believe her or worse, report her to HR himself.

But your point about them being metaphorically placed is correct! I'd honestly say it could be a bit of both, but it is definitely a storytelling point and how they represent something in the current chapter they're found in. Just like how the state of their ID cards also reflects on their character in a way. Anya's is perfectly untouched, a reflection of how Jimmy feels no remorse or guilt towards what he did to her, whereas Curly's is completely destroyed.

Important Update

Hello, everyone. I just wanted to make an update post regarding my current situation, and to let everyone know about what's exactly been happening.

I am so, so sorry for suddenly disappearing and being inactive; my physical health has suddenly started rapidly deteriorating these past few weeks, and due to a multitude of health issues, I've not been able to properly log onto Tumblr and check my notifications. I currently have over 99+ notifications and am planning to go through them all when I'm feeling better, but in the meantime, I kindly ask that you please refrain from tagging me in any new donation posts. I wouldn't want to risk older notifications being buried under multiple new ones, or missing them entirely.

I'll also be leaving my askbox and submissions indefinitely closed for reasons similar to this, but please don't worry! If you're a Palestinian blogger who needs to reach out to me, my private messages are still currently open as I feel cutting that line of communication entirely would be unjust. While it will take time for me to reply back to you as my health issues have greatly limited my day-to-day function, and unfortunately I cannot guarantee exactly when that will be, I'll try to properly look through my messages whenever I have enough energy to.

I’ve been thinking about hunger games names and the significance they hold in the story. You seem to follow your own naming style as well (fleece, tye, carina all southern) I went down a rabbit hole of southern name ideas for my extended family (dog name sites are actually very helpful also the fandom name guide)

I like to think district 8 can have named after colors considering they’re textiles which would require dyeing. One of my friends from d-8 is “sable” meaning black.

AA HELLO SOL !!! Sorry I've been pretty inactive on this blog & missed this ask 😔 but its here now !! And I DO have many thoughts on naming for D8 and in general so you're in luck ❗️💥

I think that Eights having colour names is pretty inspired actually !! I definitely think its one of those conventions that would be a bit more universal (re: the covey, possible D1s named after colours too) but it fits v well for the District. In my DR they have fabric based names too (the D8 girl in my games is called Lycra, for example) but again I think they would share a decent chunk of their themed names w/ D1, branching off into simpler names where inner districts would branch into fancier/MORE themed ones like Glimmer or Opal or whatever

As for D10 the dog naming sites thing is so real.. when I tell you finding good names for my family on behind the name was HELL I mean it !!!!! I have a lot of my own HCs/thoughts about Ten being in the remnants of Mexico and I think carrying those Mexican/Spanish names or surnames over for people is a pretty safe bet naming wise, even if the double barrled surname conventions of the modern day might have been phased out or altered.

Other districts have their own conventions - other names that are pretty solid and non district exclusive are flowers (I love flower language and their individual meanings so I am biased here lol) though maybe they wouldn't work so well in 8, 5 or 3 where wildlife is much less common. It's also the case that for inner districts or just generally roman/shakespearian naming conventions are used a lot but I don't think its fun to restrict that to just the capitol !! The og script for the first film had someone from D3 called Prospero, there's Titus from D6, etc- if the name fits then district naming conventions don't matter terribly much IMO

hello there hyd this blog has been inactive for so long i don't think you'll answer this ask but i'm still gonna ask cuz i need someone idk to vent to. anyway so, I have this friend. once upon a time, we were the bestest of friends. but we hardly ever even talk anymore. and like I don't even know why. cuz like nothing really happened between us, we just grew apart after going to our seperate colleges. he's got his new super cool group of super cool friends and i've got my own group of very cool friends. (we're different kinds of cool. my friends are the kind of cool people who like to hyper-analyse books and movies and shows over snacks on weekends while his friends are the kind of cool people who party and go out every weekend, basically introverts and extroverts.) and like... i really miss him. i use to text him first all the time, asking about his day at college and stuff but he never did the same for me so i start med feeling like maybe he didn't want to talk to me anymore so then I stopped texting him. and we haven't talked in over a year (except that one time I drunk texted him on halloween, it's an embarassing story) but yk i really miss him. I miss my bestfriend. so much. (not in a romantic way but like..yk i feel like i've lost a part of me)

I asked him how he was and he said he was amazing. after 2 hours. i haven't seen the message yet. he's also asked him how i'm doing and i wanna reply with something that makes him thing i'm genuinely having so much fun with my life. I mean, I am. but it's not always rainbows and sunshine. but i kinda wanna make him think that it is. idk why. like he's my bestfriend. i miss him. why am I trying to make him jealous? of what? what's wrong with me? he was your best friend and you both have grown apart. losing your friends hurts more than a romantic breakup istfg. you could text him back and talk to him nonchalantly yk but you could also just ask him where it all went wrong.

I've remedied the issue and you are now tagged as an active author using the tagging filter on that page. I've also added your listing to the current "active authors" post that is in my draft for when I have ten active authors. Again, I'm sorry that you felt you were excluded on purpose, that wasn't the case it was simply a coding error on my end! Sometimes things just slip through the cracks when I'm coding and I don't pick up on it!

I figured it had been a mistake and not a deliberate slight, but it still felt not great, you know? Especially since there is a huge stigma where people stop reading your fics or commenting when they think you're inactive. Comments and feedback are the only currency we as authors receive and the feedback which often encourages us to write more (especially if it is more than just a "write more!" or "When's the next update!") can really feed our ability to write and to write with joy such that we want to share our work. Without that feedback, people give up. Decide the effort isn't worth the reward and really do stop writing in the fandom or at all.

Feedback matters and authors who are considered inactive get less feedback. People can have very good reasons for not updating and it can make them feel unwanted and unwelcome if they get tagged as inactive in their fandoms. In my case, I've been fighting 3 different, unrelated cancers since 2021, and while I've updated and written in that time, most of my energy has been devoted to my health and work so I can pay for health things. I know of other authors in this fandom who are going through major deaths in the family (parents/spouse), domestic abuse, or new parenthood all of which eat into someone's ability to update/write.

I kind of feel that the authors should make that distinction themselves (ie. state that they are on hiatus) or the length of time between declaring someone as inactive needs to be lengthened... A year feels short to me unless the author has declared a hiatus or died... because I do feel that death does put a damper on someone's update schedule. ~_^ From chatting with @rosefyrefyre we tend to consider a fic/author on hiatus if they haven't updated since 2020, and we allow for longer delays because of COVID, Real life, and the world going to hell right now.

I also understand that this is YOUR blog and you can decide what works best for it. I don't get to dictate what you do do on your blog. ^_^ I do appreciate you doing this in your free time, it has to be a lot of work. I also appreciate that we, as authors, are often easily upset or can get defensive. So dealing with all of the personalities can be tough.

So once again, thank you for addressing the error and correcting it. I do appreciate all of the work you're putting into this.

So I guess I am back

Hello, this is just a random update. It's been so long. I think I left this blog inactive for 2 years(?). So...basically life happened. I graduated from uni, struggled in the last 2 years of uni, and now I'm in my 1st year in law school.

Anyways, I'm here just to let ya'll know I'm still alive and I'm still planning to finish my ongoing fics (especially The Heart Holiday and TPAHR). I missed my babies so much.

For those who waited for me, thank you so much for your patience and I apologize for this super late notice and quite tired(?)-sounding post. Law school messed up my sleeping schedule and I sleep an average of 3 hours daily so I hope for your kind understanding.

So for just a quick catch-up on what I've been up to before I left this app:

🌸 I had COVID in 2021 and I almost delayed myself from graduating bc I was so sick and I was struggling with my thesis that I felt the need to drop it. Luckily, I didn't drop it and I was able to finish it on time. Big shout out to my family who knew I would hate myself if I didn't graduate on time and supported me all throughout my thesis era. Ya girl is a Magna Cum Laude graduate 🏅

🌸 I applied for law school, not really thinking I would get in (bc I was already dying bc of my thesis and the review period starts the same period of my thesis writing). I just applied for the experience so if I fail, at least I already know how to answer the exam for the following year. So I was shocked that not only did I pass, I was able to get into the top law school in my country.

🌸 I rekindled my love for watching anime and reading mangas/manhwas/manhuas. I've been in love with these stuff since I was 6 yrs old and they helped me keep sane in the past 2 years.

🌸 I love Haikyuu and I've been an avid fanfic reader of Haikyuu fics. It's amazing and I enjoyed myself a lot so expect some reblogs of anime-related content.

🌸 Last anime watched: Chainsaw Man

🌸 Last manhwa read: We are not Dating

🌸 I still love BTS and I listen to their music although I'm not as active as a fan like I used to be. I also started stanning groups like ATEEZ and The Boyz.

🌸 I started getting into Western shows (sorry, Kdramas took up the entire 20 years of my life) and oh my god, I love Breaking Bad and that show is hands-down one of the best I've ever seen. Better Call Saul is amazing (tho I haven't finished this yet) and Stranger Things is also cool.

🌸 Currently enjoying my subjects Criminal Law and Civil Law. I hate Political Law bc it's kinda draining and the cases are boring and my god the great disparity of page numbers in Political Law cases - they're either 10 pages long or 185 pages long and I have to read them all (they're 11 Arial, single spacing, narrow margin).

I realised I'm kinda really late for an intro post, but, better late than never, so? Uh...

Hello, welcome!! 💚

My name around these parts is Eshi (she/her), and I mainly post meta/analyses of the characters and story, occasional art, and the few scarce fics and drabbles, if I ever want them on my blog instead of just my ao3.

I DO NOT support cc!Dream btw. Just as a quick disclaimer before anything, I need that man Gone. My current remaining interest in the dsmp is purely for the characters, story and nostalgia.

Some specifics:

(For context, most of these points were written back in DSMP's heyday, and have only been slightly altered - if that clears up anything lmao. And I don't feel the need to rewrite it entirely yet as I haven't been active enough to change the status quo of this blog, so to speak, yet, so!! There you go)

As you'll find out quickly, my main focus is c!Tommy. I love the other characters, too, however, I simply find him to be the closest to my heart, the most familiar :>

I've been in the fandom since the start of the smp!

I do not frequent twitter, tik tok, reddit, and wherever else besides youtube and obviously tumblr. Thanks to my friends who are for sending updates on that (as... cursed as they might be sometimes).

Obviously I love cc!Techno and miss him greatly like we all do, but most of my posts were made before his passing, so you will still be able to find posts critical of c!Techno (and c!Phil here). So if those upset you, probably best to not root too deep into my blog and block the respective tags ;^^

Really critical of c!Dream as well btw. But that should be obvious coming from a c!Tommy main, idk what a c!dream apologist (or a cc!dream stan, for that matter) would even do here.

That said, I apologise if I ever upset anyone with my rambles. I generally try to keep this blog positive, but some things I just don't feel positive about, and I don't always succeed in expelling that well. But I do want to be truthful in these opinions, and I adore having civil discussions. In any case, feel free to block me if needed. Others' comfort comes before my block men thoughts, please take care.

As for my general opinion on every character - everyone is gray, but gray is a gradient. Noone is blameless, and I want everyone to be happier.

And for my final point - I am... kinda inactive a lot, for personal reasons. So I really apologise if I don't answer your ask, I promise it's not against you or cause I don't want to, I'm simply really bad at juggling my time and focus. I might get to everyone eventually. But for now, sorry for that, and thank you for any interaction <3

The reason for this being that she rarely reblogs things, so in actuality she’s super active for all the posts she makes. Generally 90%+ dcmk, does a ton of edits and amazing analysis.

@meitanteimary Generally she’s a solid 90% dcmk, although if you look at the url rn it will show some misc other fandom stuff, but she’s definitely 90%+ regularly.

@tortureddove- They post often, run by a queue. The stuff on here is Kaito/Kaitou Kid centric, and is generally duper dark, torture, non-con/rape, gore, crying type stuff. 100%, however it’s more magic kaito than detective conan since Kaito is the person the blog revolves around.

@miskatsura - Long time Eri fan. Been following them for about 3 years now too.

@meitanteisonoko - Update, hint and fanart gathering type blog. Possibly a bit less active than the others, but does a couple posts at a time iirc.
