Note
(would be fun to apply this to other characters, but you decide)
SCP-348 is called "Gift from dad", and its a ceramic bowl that fills with soup whenever there's someone sitting right in front of it. To children, it tastes great and usually reminds them of their parents' cooking, plus it magically heals them of small bruises or things like the common cold. To people over 18, it doesn't taste that great, and many actually refuse to finish it.
However, if whoever is eating from the bowl finishes the soup, a message will appear. In legible dark blue to children, but more faded to adults.
The messages will vary a lot depending on what kind of relationship the person eating from it has, had or could have had with their father, so it's not always comforting
The bowl seems to anomalously learn the subject's dynamic with their parents on both sides while they eat the soup it produces, and will make a message appear in the subject's first language that reflects what it knows of the father's real feelings towards their child
Messages that appeared at the bottom of 348 include: "Why?" to a woman who was estranged from both parents and had refused her father's career training, "Thank you" to a woman who made sure her parents were well taken care of after she moved out, "I'm sorry, son" to a child whose parents were in the middle of a messy divorce, "I'm glad you're happy" to a boy who had just been recently adopted, and after being drained of soup, the bowl filled with salt water for 3 hours after a man who had murdered his own father tried one spoon of it
Some theorized the water was the man's father's tears, but the article creator has said that it was from the bowl itself, who was crying because it knew its soup wouldn't be able to help someone who had killed their own parent
I wonder if a similar effect could happen in cdta, except the bowl would be crying for Joshua, not the other way around
imagine having such a fucked-up life that even inanimate objects start crying in your presence lmao
