general sweet hcs for hazamada, okuyasu and maaaybe miyamoto?(i know we barely got to see him so!!) maybe first date or confession scenarios 👉👈 👀
oml i love miyamoto it’s a shame we didn’t get much of him... i hope you like these!!! whole lotta fluff
hazamada + okuyasu + miyamoto sweet hcs & first date scenarios !
hazamada
sweet hcs
- was not very confident when first pursuing s/o but still did ‘grand’ little gestures that he deemed romantic (holding doors open for them, offering to walk them home despite it being totally out of his way, speaking in length about his fav manga)
- still melts whenever s/o says his name, even after getting into a real relationship with them
- becomes soooo playful when he lets his guard down around s/o (really loves tickle fights but never admits it)
- loves having s/o around even if there’s nothing to do, just their presence makes his heart happy
- one of his favorite things to do with s/o is cuddling up together and reading manga (sometimes he forgets to read the pages because he can’t stop staring at his adorable s/o)
- loves getting sweet little gifts for s/o and sometimes they can be quite random (it’s the thought that counts! he just really likes surprising his s/o)
first date scenario
- for their first date, hazamada invited his s/o out for lunch and a nice day out in morioh. he got soooo antsy and had to memorize what to ask them the night before (he was so damn relieved when s/o said they’ve been waiting for him to ask!)
- on the day of he brought s/o a pretty little flower he found on his way to their house and it later became a date tradition once they got onto a real relationship (how fucking CUTE ????) while he and s/o walked to the cafe he was a liiittle awkward because he was terrified of doing anything that could upset s/o and ruin the date :(
- wanting to impress, hazamada paid for everything they ate at the cafe and refused to let s/o even reach for their wallet. afterwards he took s/o to a bookstore + very proudly showed s/o alllll of his best recommendations and asked them about some of their favorites (didn’t judge s/o no matter how questionable their manga taste may have been)
- when walking s/o back to their house he very cutely asked if he could hold their hand (his face went bright red oh my lord he will never stop thinking about this moment + was trying so hard to keep ‘i love you’ from slipping out)
- gave s/o the tightest hug and asked if they’d like to go out again (he was still blushing btw)
- the moment s/o stepped into their house, hazamada full on SPRINTED to find koichi and reminisce in how lovely his date was + fangirl over how beautiful s/o looked when they sipped their tea / coffee
okuyasu
sweet hcs
- this man does absolutely nothing to hide his feelings for s/o. NOTHING.
- rants endlessly about how in love he is at least once a day and it’s become an actual component of his daily routine
- loves pda and will always have at least an arm around s/o when they’re together (absolutely loves when s/o grabs onto his bicep or his hand whenever they’re out in morioh)
- always bragging about how perfect s/o is to josuke (this is the most okuyasu thing ever)
- gets so happy seeing his s/o laugh even if it’s at something embarassing he did. if his baby is happy then he is happy !!!
- really loves hugs and almost cried the first time he held s/o (they smelled so nice how couldn’t he get emotional about it?)
- always trying to show off for s/o and loves a little praise
first date scenario
- with all the sweaty flirting okuyasu had been doing, nobody was surprised when he asked his crush out on a date to trussardi’s. he was so excited for s/o to experience everything at the restaruant but was sure to give a few warnings beforehand
- on the walk there he was more excited than usual and was pointing out anything of interest (the foremost attention grabber being how the sunset turned s/o’s hair the prettiest color)
- he set reservations so that it’d just be him and s/o + had trussardi play some romantic mixtape that he curated. the songs were cheesy as hell and s/o loved it. okuyasu also asked trussardi not to do anything that could potentially embarass s/o (we all remember what was up with his tummy before he ate there for the first time)
- showed immense, genuine interest in anything s/o had to say and was great at keeping a good flow of conversation. also threw in some compliments every so often (told s/o how cute they looked upwards of ten times that night) also loves asking s/o more about themselves and their family
- kept his hand on s/o’s for most of the meal and he was a little surprised they were so comfortable with it. okuyasu is one smooth criminal.
- he was, of course, being his adorable self the entire night and did whatever possible to not let his nervousness get in the way of making this the ideal first date. there was a moment where he got a little vulnerable and opened up about how lucky he feels that s/o obliged to joining him and he swears his few tears were caused by the water
- after the date was all said and done he walked s/o home, he returned to his own house and told his dad how the night went :’)
miyamoto
sweet hcs
- really genuinely loves every single thing about s/o. he could spend a whole day with them and be completely satisfied just sitting and watching them be their perfect self
- always giving s/o very obscure little compliments (ex: ‘i love the way you’ve stretched your arms, just now’ or ‘you look really cute when you’re trying not to appear annoyed that the tv remote doesn’t work’)
- loves leaning his head on s/o’s shoulder when they’re sitting somewhere comfy together
- always knows exactly what to say or do to cheer s/o up
- he might not seem like the most romantic person, but it all becomes clear once his love language is understood (SPENDING. QUALITY. TIME. WITH. S/O.)
- likes writing little love poems / words of encouragement and leaving them at random spots in s/o’s home
- one of his fav things to do with s/o is slow dance (he doesn’t care if there is music playing or not he just really enjoys the closeness of it all and it’s the sweetest)
first date scenario
- it might not sound too romantic, but miyamoto asked his crush out to go people watching for their first date. s/o didn’t know what to expect but gladly agreed to go, and miyamoto did whatever possible not to get too excited so he could uphold his sexy bad bitch vibe
- he and s/o sat at the cafe, watching each and every passerby. s/o was surprised at how nice this was as a date activity, and miyamoto happily explained the objective, analytical ways he looked at people. it was all quite fascinating
- he stopped to watch s/o a few times, really trying to make sure they were enjoying his company (he hates to admit it, but he was extremely nervous for this date). whenever s/o met his eyes he blushed but immediately tried to play it off
- pulled out a few slips of paper that contained little inside jokes and other things that he knew would make s/o laugh (miyamoto was always using enigma to impress s/o and still does to this day)
- took a moment after he and s/o finished their food to explain, in detail, why he likes them so much. gets in touch with his more emotional side and tells s/o about all the adorable little quirks in their personality, the cute ass way their nose moves when they speak, among many other minute details that he has grown attached to. he loves everything about s/o and makes sure they know it
- held s/o’s hand as he walked them home and blushes a little when asking if he was any good at ‘this whole dating thing’

----
Once again, you got carried away sketching on your paperwork.  This time, it was Steve and Tony arguing over something petty while the mission meeting progressed.  You leaned into your arm, your pen pretty much moving on its own.
“Anyways, before I was rudely interrupted,” Steve started as he sent a playful glare at Tony, “does everyone understand their role?”
Everyone nodded.
You continued shading in various parts of the quick sketch, further capturing lifelike qualities.  The annoyance in Steve’s gaze.  The defiance in Tony’s eyes.
“Y/N?”
You looked up, setting your pen down.  “Sorry.  Yeah?”
“Do you understand your role for the mission?” Steve repeated.
You sent an apologetic smile.  “Aye, Cap’n.”
As the meeting ended, you collected your strewn papers with slight embarrassment.  It wasn’t the first time you were caught with your head completely in the clouds.
You couldn’t help it.  Sketching helped you concentrate, as strange as that sounded, and when you had time, painting helped you take your mind off of things.  Healthy extracurricular activities that were relaxing were hard to come by, especially for a combat and stealth agent like yourself.
You made your way back to the common room, where everyone was crowding around Thor and someone else.
“Thor, you can’t just bring him here,” Steve said.
Tony snorted.  “Yeah, what if he destroys half of New York again?  Guess who’d have to clean that up?  Me.”
“Oh, please,” Natasha groaned, rolling her eyes.  “You give yourself way too much credit.”
“No offense, but I’m not a big fan,” Clint said, eyeing the newcomer anxiously.
Bruce cowered behind Clint.  “Me too.”
“Of who?” you asked.
Everyone turned to see you standing there, your curiosity piqued.  They slowly backed away, revealing someone you’ve only heard about.
“Loki,” you breathed.
He stood in all his godly glory, adorned in his green and black robes, hints of gold making everything vivid.  He stood tall over you, making you shrink a bit at his bravado.
He smirked.  “That would be me.”  His eyes scanned you.  “And who might you be?”
“Y/N.”
“And she can kick your ass,” Tony added helpfully.
Steve sent a warning look.  “Language.”
Tony held his hands up in defeat, everyone laughing.
Loki kept his eyes on you with interest.  You had to break away from his intense gaze, or you felt you might be eaten alive.
--
When you got done with training that day, you found yourself sitting on the balcony overlooking the night streets.  You were snuggled up in a thick sweatshirt with your pencil and sketchbook.
You sighed happily.
If you had to describe your ideal night, it would be this.  No missions to complete.  No errands to run.  No one to meet or please.
Just you and your imagination.
As per usual, you let your pencil draw for itself.
You smiled a bit to yourself, seeing the rough shapes coming together to form Loki’s structure.  You began putting some fine lines in before shading ever so softly.
You’d been thinking about him the entire day.  Other than the mischievous look in his eyes, he hardly seemed like the egotistic maniac who destroyed most of New York.  Instead he looked gentle and reserved, taking in the world quietly, all while perhaps having a slightly sadistic sense of humor.
You shook your head.  You didn’t care what the others had to say about him.  You were determined to get to know him while he was here with Thor.
With your head full and your heart satisfied, you decided to brew yourself a cup of tea before heading back inside to retire for the night.
You filled the kettle and started the stove.  You nearly jumped when you heard the fridge open behind you.
“Do all you humans drink such revolting liquid?” Loki asked, holding up a can of soda.
“Depends on what brand you drink,” you answered.  “Would you like tea?”
He paused.  “Yes, please.”
As he put the soda can back, you reached for two cups in the cupboard and scooped some non-caffeinated tea into a couple strainer balls.  You placed them in the cups and carefully poured the boiling water, watching it swirl and change colors.
When it finished brewing, you removed the strainers and slid Loki a cup across the kitchen counter.
“Thank you,” came his quiet response.
You grinned.  “No problem.”
You sipped your tea, and looked at him again before laughing.
He blushed.  “What’s so funny?” he asked defensively.
“Nothing!” you laughed.  “I just never expected to see a god in sweatpants and a t-shirt.”
“Well, it’s quite comfortable,” Loki argued.  “And you didn’t expect me to stay dressed like that all the time, did you?”
“I suppose not,” you said, leaning against the counter.
It was quiet as the two of you finished your cups of tea.  You took his empty cup and rinsed it in the sink.
You smiled to yourself.  He really isn’t as bad as everyone says he is.
He stood awkwardly against the counter.  “Um, thank you again.”
You shook your head.  “Anytime.”
“Why are you being so kind to me?”
You blinked.  “Hm?”
“Well...”  He rubbed the back of his neck.  “Usually people scream or glare or something.  They think I’ll kill them the next instant or freeze them forever.”
“I don’t think you’re so bad,” you said.  “Misunderstood, yes, but you’re not a bad guy.”
A blush colored his cheeks as he looked away.
“Anyways, I’ll see you tomorrow, Loki,” you said with a smile.
He snapped out of his momentary daze.  “Yeah.  Have a good night...Y/N.”
As you began walking away, you couldn’t help but widen your smile, feeling your heart beating a bit harder.
--
The next week was utterly exhausting.  Each of you used your abilities to the very max hunting down Hydra bases and the likes.
Having Loki fight with you all was strange for everyone.  The Avengers always made sure to keep him in check, but you had no doubts about his loyalty, especially as you got to know him more.
There were also things unseen and unsaid.
You’d often catch him stealing glances at you, and you didn’t mind at all.  It was almost like he was afraid you were going to disappear.
He’d come up to your room late at night with a cup of tea and stay into the early hours of the morning.  Sometimes you’d talk, and sometimes you just watched the cars move up and down the street.
You’d become best friends with the god of mischief.
It wasn’t until you started dreaming about him that you discovered you were also in love with him.
Loki became your sole subject for your sketches.  You loved capturing his many different expressions, especially the looks of varying annoyance.
Eventually, you gathered enough courage to begin a painted portrait of him.  You were determined to show everyone how you saw him: vivid, charming, lovely, protective.
You used so many colors, a color for each bit of life in his expression.
As you painted, you got so lost in what you were doing, you didn’t hear Loki walk in behind you.
He silently studied you painting for a few minutes, taking it all in.
“What are you doing?”
“Jesus!” you yelped, nearly dropping your brush.  Your cheeks grew hot as you tried to cover your work.  “N-nothing!”
Loki laughed, catching you off guard.  “I’ve been watching you the past few minutes.”
“Really?” you squeaked.  “Why didn’t you say anything?”
“You looked like you were concentrating.  I didn’t want to interrupt,” he said.  “And I was enjoying watching you work.”
At this point, you were a red tomato.  You had no idea why you were freaking out so much.  It was just a painting of a friend.
A friend you wanted to be something more to.
“I’m flattered,” he continued.  He eyed the sketches of himself strewn all over your desk.  “You drew more?”
“Yeah, but they’re not much...” you trailed off as you shuffled them around a bit.  “I mean, it’s just a relaxing hobby of mine...”
He carefully picked up some pieces, his eyes filled with admiration.  “These are really amazing, Y/N.”
“You really think so?”
“Of course!”  He furrowed his eyebrows.  “But why me?”
“What do you mean?”
He nodded.  “Wouldn’t it be nicer to sketch someone like my brother?  Or one of your Earth friends?”
“I guess, but they’re not you.”
You were your reddest, if that was even possible at that point.
Loki took a moment before smiling.  “If you insist.”  He let out a small laugh.  “If you want, I could model for you some time.”
Your eyes sparkled.  “Really?”
He played with your hair.
“Anything for you.”

Oh you right about that Makoto stuff oml. I generally didn't really like her much cause I never felt I could really grab onto her character and be like 'yes this is who she is' I've just never been able to put it into words like that. That last ask was one of the most interesting TEDTalks I've read in a while /j but seriously someone pointing out the issues with her like that is not something you see everyday so imma go look at her arc in P5R Labby a bit and see if I can't make her a bit more interesting to me too outside of the stuff I have her doing. Any chance you wanna go off about Ann too? Jk unless? Nah you guud ^-^
Ah I missed this ask! And yeah, Makoto is one of those charaters that rubbed me the wrong way the moment I met her, but couldn't really put my finger on why until my third or fourth playthrough. Since she seemed like the sort of character that checked all my boxes, I tried to force her to be one of my favorites, but the more I thought about her and played through the game the less and less I liked her. Pinning down the reasons why was just the nail in the coffin.
Ann is the exact opposite for me; I actually really like her! However, it didn't start out that way. On my first playthrough, I found her to be really boring. I didn't dislike her, she was perfectly fine and did nothing wrong, but she never really stuck out either.
I have a lot less to say about Ann because I'm not actually 100% sure of the reason I found her so dull or why she later became one of my favs, but I do have a couple hunches.
Persona 5 (and persona as a whole, but it's much more pronounced in 5) is full of very striking characters who are each easily recognized by a handful of key character traits and all have bombastic story elements and character arcs that you'd never really find in everyday life. That's not a bad thing! It's a really good thing, actually! Simple characters who hold a lot of depth are very appealing because they're easy to understand and therefore relate to, and you get to watch their eccentric character traits bounce off each other in interesting ways.
Persona 5 wears its comic book inspiration on its sleeve, which is half of what I love so much about it, and therefore each of its main characters would feel right at home in an outlandish superhero comic of their own. But Ann is kind of the odd one out here.
She's not very easy to define in a handful of character traits - you can point out some things that she is (be it cheerful, optimistic, determined), but you'll always feel like you're missing the core to her character. Her story arc about wanting to become an emotionally stronger person is much more grounded that what you normally get from every other confidant in the game. Her biggest strengths and best qualities aren't glaringly obvious when you look at her, and neither are her flaws.
For all intents and purposes, Ann feels like a normal human teenager you could meet in any high school. This means in a game full of quirky hackers and heiresses, shady back-alley doctors and weapons dealers, a best friend like a walking firecracker and a starving artist who'd climb a telephone tower in the dead of winter to get a better look at some birds - she tends to get a little outshined.
She also doesn't get a whole lot of screentime post-Kamoshida (*cough* because every important line is given to Makoto *cough*), which doesn't do her very many favors in winning people over.
However! I do think that there's a lot of benefit to her more subtle character! She serves as a grounding presence for most of the game - in a story as wild as this one, it's nice to have someone calmer who feels a lot more chill and real.
Her quiet optimism and easy friendships with the rest of the thieves is one of the things that really made her grow on me the closer I dug into group dynamics. To one extent or another, she's friends with everyone in the group, so even the characters that fight a lot or don't feel very close in the first place share a connection through Ann, who cares about each of her friends unconditionally and accepts each new member without question. When the going gets tough she's always the one gently pushing the others to the option that leads them to be better people.
All in all, while she's definitely a lot less striking and instantly appealing compared to the others, I really do feel like she adds a lot to the story and the thieves wouldn't feel nearly as close and natural a group without Ann there.
