And I can legit agree and see deporting murderers, but will it end there? How far are they gonna go? Cause that "border czar" said families could be deported together. That's frightening. What about the lives people have built for 5-10-20 years? Homes, families, community ties, education, all their possessions what happens to their whole life bc they snuck in and the only illegal thing they've ever done was not wait on a faulty slow system at a "port of call". This to me, is just as devastating as losing a house in a fire, flood, or hurricane. Everything they've worked to achieve gone in an instant bc the govt won't find a solution. It seems simple to me, there must be records of employee payments, rent receipts etc, phone bills etc, if you can prove you've been here x amount of time then citizen, under x amount visa etc. Hold employers taking advantage of these immigrants liable for lost wages/wage theft/jail if they don't comply bc it's working for subpar slave wages. And then they must continue the employment at the correct wages, with insurance etc. That way illegals become legal, employers don't get to run slave wage games while holding the almighty power of ICE above their heads to take advantage of them. But I dunno, it just seems more logical to me but it would also cut employer profits from farms to corporations, so it's unlikely they'd want to do that. And court fees at the employers expense. Be like Greece and Turkish immigrants, or similar open amnesty for 3 months or longer. But what do I know? Lol

And I'm still reading about some of these orders 47 made, and it's gonna be a mess. Why are we leaving the climate deal? Why must there be more drilling? Why is gender political and not just medical? Why are politics in on any medical issue, whether it's transgender care, abortion or not? How did, who a person is and how they choose to exist, become a political issue that can be regulated by law? Instead of private medical care between patient and doctor? Why aren't we more focused on education? Why aren't we more focused on why there are so many school shootings? What's wrong with DEI? Why stop it? And instead of more important matters he just pardons people that stormed the capital with violence. What?

Sorry for the rant, but yea part way through this unbelievably long list, I'm a bit sad. You stay safe too, I live in a blue section of a red state, so it won't be too bad here (I hope). And while saying all that I know we don't have it bad here, it's certainly not the Sudan, Iran and more where conditions for women are more than dire. It just feels this is a backwards step for the land of the free.

I wanted to write a blog post because I haven't in a while but Tumblr tried it's darndest to impede me. Why is signing in on web so hard???? BUT! I have news! I have deleted TikTok! I don't want to be addicted to my phone. It added NOTHING to my life, just took away time. If there's anything I don't want to lose; its time. AAAAAnyway, I would like to make blog posting a more regular thing -- quite enjoyable. Today has been mostly a complete wash; rained all day, did nothing. Do you ever get that feeling like you just can't get comfortable? That's me right now. I don't feel like... GOOD. At all. I'm like weirdly itchy, my neck hurts, the lighting in my room is bad, my room is messy, I feel bloated and hungry at the same time.

Okay, took a break to eat and I actually feel a little better. School is not cancelled tomorrow which is a massive bummer. I think I'm going to clean my room, then I have to do homework :(((((((, I need to figure out some public speaking stuff so I'll do that too. I need to figure out my next couple of walks so I can plan them. Also; would not mind getting back to reading, I only work tuesday this week so I should be able to get a lot of stuff done -- SPEAKING OF WORKING, my friday and saturday shifts went decently well, makes me want to rethink quitting. I was worried about saturday because it's lunch which is always stressful, and it was stressful, but I did it. And I'm proud. I hope whenever we go to the beach next it's sunny and warm, because this weekend really sucked it big time.

I feel better about myself now that I've deleted tiktok, I think the next step is to delete all social media BS and just use my phone for the necessary stuff. r/dumphones has some good ideas. I like the idea of using my laptop for social media stuff because then using it feels more intentional, like I'm actively making the decision to use it instead of just using it because it's there. I've gotten really into r/EDC (every day carry) stuff too, and they kind of facilitate eachother, using your phone for less stuff necessitates carrying more stuff with you. I think I need a Kindle or some ereader thing, I want to get back into reading daily. I like the greyscale phone set-ups, I think it would help a lot with the whole "going-to-my-phone-when-I'm-bored" thing. I think the greyscale dumbiphone is the most elegant solution to the phone addiction problem because I can still use it for work stuff, calls, emails, taking pictures, listening to music, podcasts, maps, carplay, BUT its less attractive bc greyscale. - tangent over.

he’s a man of moderation and not usually a heavy drinker or makes sure he’s drinking plenty of water between drinks

• you were about to do a challenge that has been going around tiktok for quite a while. you were not one to do tiktok challenges very often, so this would come as a surprise for heeseung.

• when the familiar “WAP” began to play through your phone speakers, heeseung’s eyes widened.

akaashi: This Side of Paradise by Coyote Theory. eep akaashi the hopeless romantic we stan- anyways yeah he found this band in like his first year of high school and has been addicted ever since. he doesn’t really share his taste in music with others, but the one time he let bokuto listen to music with him, bokuto got way to excited and accidentally dropped akaashi’s phone and cracked it.

sakusa: 24 hours of nothing yeah he doesn’t listen to music he just puts this on with headphones so people won’t bother him. he finds the silence relaxing and hates it when people interrupt him (cough cough atsumu)

Hey guys i've just finished this little headcon about Gavin and Victor that has been on my mind for a long time. Enjoy it ^^

When Victor/Gavin is coming home after work finding MC making Tiktoks

Victor:

+ Victor is at LFG for a meeting while you're at home all by yourself

+ Althought Victor had told you that you're not allowed to cook something on your own you're making some cookies to kill time and to surprise him *not only with a completely messed up kitchen*

+ So you go get the ingredients, mix them in a bowl to get the dough, form the cookies and you put them in the oven ect

+"Hm...What now?"

+ You decide to check your Instagram and find some videos from Kiro where he makes some kind of choreography to a short soundtrack in the background

+ "Huh...What's that? Tiktok?" *feeling like Victor when he got to know modern language*

+ You think they're really funny and that you want to make that too

+ You decide to download Tiktok althought you first have to figure out what you exactly have to do

+ As you get everything and watched some Tiktoks from other people you're looking for a soundtrack to dance to

+ The song "Boss Bitch" by Doja Cat caught your eyes immediately

+ You watch some Tiktoks with this trend to figure out a choreography

+ You try and fail but you don't give up so easily *thanks to Victor*

+ While you're trying to make your Tiktok Victor enters your apartment with some groceries to cook you something very delicious *not only your pudding*

+ Gets alarmed as he sees smoke coming out of the kitchen

+ It dawns on him

+ "MC?" Running into the kitchen to find the cause of the smoke *but ofc he's worried sick about you althought he wouldn't admit it*

+ You were surprised to hear Victor voice *why is he home yet?*

+ You finally notice the smoke coming out of the kitchen "OH NO MY COOKIES!!" also running in the kitchen with your smartphone in your hand to call the fire fighters if needed

+ Gladly you see Victor taking care of the burnt cookies like a real man while opening the window *damn I would nearly give everything to see him so stressed like that*

+ After things were under Victors controll again he glares at you *ohoh*

+ "Idiot! How many time do i have to tell you not to cook or bake when I'm not around! Also look at this mess! Can't you take care of such easy things?"

+ Silently hearing him out while being embarrassed "I-I'm sorry i forgot the time an-"

+ Victor, interrupting you immediately "What? What where you doing to forget the fact that u've put something in the oven?"

+ While getting more and more embarrassed you show him what you were doing "Uhm I've found this app where you have to dance to a soundtrack. It's called Tiktok. I thought it would be fun so I tried it out. Here, have a look at it."

+ Victor furrows his brow as u show him that Tiktok of you *Tiktok? Whats that?*

+ "Dummy..." looking at you "Don't do this again, you heard me? If you want to bake something tell me."

+ You nod as you take your phone away "Got it but Victor...would you maybe want to do some with me?"

+ "You really think that you're in the position to make any demands now? Take a wet towel so that we can clean this mess up u've made or else I won't be able to cook dinner."

+ You just need to hear the word "dinner" to speed off to go get a wet towel "On my way, Mr. Li!"

+ Whispering under his breath while maybe parting his lips for a little smile "Dummy...don't make me worry like this again."

Gavin:

+ Gavin is gone because of some sort of mission so MC tries her best not to worry about him that much *but she does*

+ "I hope that he is ok..."

+ You try to figure out something let ur thoughts drift off from that sensitive subject

+ You scroll through your phone for your game apps but you have played them so many times that you get bored just at the sight of them

+"Boring..."

+ You find Tiktok on your phone

+ You have heard about this app but never actually tried it out so you look through some Tiktoks to figure out what you have to do

+ "Alright! I just have to try!"

+ You're looking for a specific soundtrack while you're trying to keep the movements in your mind

+ "What a man gotta do?" - Jonas Brothers

+  You're starting your Tiktok but you need a few tries to remind the choreography u want to do

+ As you tried ur luck over and over again u don't recognise that Gavin enteres the flat

+ He calls you but doesn't get an answer *immediately alarmed bc you're always coming to the front door to greet him**yes he does actually uses doors*

+ He starts to worry and is just about to enter the living room has he spots you dancing in the middle of the room to some random music

+ "Huh?" Standing in the door frame while watching you pretty interested *little stalker*

+ If you just could see him now! Getting flustered while his cheeks turn slightly pink as he watches you enjoying yourself

+ As you turn around you catch Gavin peeking at you. You stumble bc you don't watch your step and you're about to fall as a certain someone is fast enough to catch you while your smartphone is still recording

+ Flustered you lay your arms around his neck to press your face against his shoulder as he looked at your phone that has finally stopped recording

+ "Are you hurt? What were you doing here anyway?"

+ Embarrassed you explain him what you were doing as you cuddle him because you are also glad that he's finally home

+ Holding you tight as he takes your phone to look at your Tiktok and thinks it's actually pretty cute *especially the part where he catches you*

+ Taking the phone from him away to look at the Tiktok by yourself and you think the same way as he does

+ "It's reealllly cute and I promise that I won't publish it! I'll save it to my private tiktoks! But would you do some more with me?"

+ Gavin is kinda surprised by your request but because he loves you so much he doesn't say no althought he doesn't know what to do *being a bit helpless but that's okkk*

+ You explain everything to him and you're doing some Tiktoks together *they turn out a bit messy but they're just for u two so it doesn't really matter*

+ They're all awesome and you are very happy as you two look through them

+ Seing u smile is his biggest treasure

+ "We couldn't have done it better!"

+ Pulling you into a sweet kiss while being a bit exhausted *You had to repeat some Tiktoks because you didn't liked them*

+ "If you want we can do that more often. If this uhm how is it called again? Ah Tiktok..uhm makes you happy, I'm happy."

Hello! Long Time No See

Hello everyone idk how many people will see this because I don’t have a lot of followers but that’s okay. HI! I haven’t used this account in almost three years I think. I’m pretty sure the last time I used this was possibly my freshman year of high school and I am now going to be a senior in September. So the world has kind of gone to shit recently but I had some soul searching while stuck in my house for over 3 months and realized that I needed to try to find what makes me happy. So bc we have all the time in the world rn bc 1. quarantine and 2. school is over, I thought I would try to revisit things that I used to love from freshman year and before. Yes I am 17 and I am no longer a hardcore stan like I was in middle school but it’s been a little refreshing trying to find myself again. If you’ve made it this far on this post thank you so much! This is more of a revamp of myself bc I realized over quarantine that I haven’t been truly happy in almost 3 years so whoops. 

Anyways this is gonna be sort of like a long rant but if you end up reading to the end I really appreciate it I hope I don’t bore you!

1. A major thing I had to come to terms with during quarantine was that I am indeed depressed. For the past 3 years I have been shoving down my inner struggles really deep within myself and never officially addressed it. As I’m sure many others who struggle with mental health have had to deal with the same difficulties of being stuck at home, it was a very shitty experience that I had to endure. I think a lot that attributed to it was the pressure of school and the rapid change of being in school one day to having a complete flip was also a major adjustment. As someone who has major control issues and hates very big change all at once this was very overwhelming for me as I’m sure it was for many of you. With this, I also realized I never prioritized myself before quarantine. I never talked about my struggles with friends and I was very irritable around late April/early May when it came to a specific friend. I previously had a major breakdown in school bc I was super anxious over losing this friendship back in February so that was also affecting my mental health extremely. Since my birthday in May, I have since slowly learned to prioritize myself and to face my struggles instead of avoiding the problem like I usually do. I now have a therapist that I talk to weekly over the phone and also with school ending it has released a lot of pressure that I had on me before. I still haven’t really discussed it all yet but I am the type that doesn’t like talking about me in that way or discussing myself in a vulnerable way but I hope I will slowly learn to improve on that. School wise, let’s just say the 4th marking period was an extremely ugly one. My sleep is something that is on and off. I am constantly exhausted but I cannot sleep so I’m trying different methods to try to fix my sleep but that is a uphill battle. I am currently writing this at 4:39 am so if that gives you any indication there you go.

2. Since there hasn’t been anything else to do and I don’t have my license yet, I have been getting back into things I used to enjoy freshman year and prior as I stated above. On my journey of trying to find any ounce of happiness again, I have been re-watching and revisiting things I used to “fangirl” over such as tv shows, youtubers, etc. 

Shows I have re-visitied include: The Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolf, Reign, Avatar: The Last Airbender, I finally watched Shadowhunters all the way through and not just the first season

Youtubers: Maddi Bragg (she recently rejoined youtube so...), I also have re-watched Dan and Phil Games, specifically the sims series bc I used to love it. 

And bc I re-watched Shadowhunters I re-watched the Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones movie that is on Netflix and before I get bashed I used to love that movie bc I personally think it is more of what I envisioned of what the books come to life would look like minus the ending...I also really like Jamie Campbell Bower and Lily Collins so personal bias but Malec on the tv show are immaculate. Controversial topic I know. And just earlier last night ig I finished reading City of Bones and I’m gonna re-read the entire TMI series and re-read/finish TID series. 

3. Along with revisiting things I have sort of slowly reinvented myself ig. I cut my hair right after my birthday so before it was about right past my chest and I cut it to roughly above my shoulders and I re-dyed my hair black bc I cannot be a ginger. My music taste has also slightly put more alt music and indie groups. Everyday I find new bands such as Meet me @ the altar, 100 gecs, and I recently got into $uicideBoy$...but honestly I get good music recommendations from tiktok so ofc. Also with the current climate in the US I have been a lot more outspoken when it comes to politics and my activism. I have a pretty conservative republican father who listens to fox news for however long I can remember. And after the 2016 election, I never really tried to argue/debate my father about Trump and everything but I also was not super informed in politics. But now I am absolutely never silence. I have gotten in plenty of arguments mostly with my mother about my activism. I have also gotten into painting political statement paintings after I painted my BLM protests signs. I have put these paintings around my room but my mom does not like them but I don’t care. So I am definitely wayyyyy more vocal when it comes to social issues and politics and I am not afraid to back down. I think before I didn’t speak up bc I didn’t want to argue with my father bc he would shut me down immediately when I tried to say anything against trump. But now I don’t care. Bc everything he stands for goes against me and my existence so I will not be silent as much as my parents want to. They don’t understand that I have always had these opinions, I just never expressed them as much until now bc I didn’t know how to properly express it. That I am super proud of.

4. Another thing I sort of realized ig was that I can now fully say I am definitely pansexual. Bro even typing that is like wow. Okay okay back story. So freshman year I told my two best friends at the time that I believed I was pan bc I’ve always thought that but I was never comfortable enough to say I was apart of the lgbtq+ community bc idk I just don’t feel like I have a right to? Bc after freshman year I slowly moved to other best friends and with them and my family I have always referenced to only being interested in men and ig I instilled this norm that I could only talk about liking men in front of them and my friends so I never felt comfortable addressing it. I still always had that thought in my head and especially in recent months I have been turned off from guys in general besides maybe 4, all who are actors or Kurtis Conner lowkey. So I’m not really looking to date anytime soon so it doesn’t really matter but I just don’t see me dating a guy. I think about it for about 2 seconds and then I snap back to reality. But yeah I made a pan flag painting and put it in my room and my parents have no idea what it is so they won’t even question me. But I don’t feel comfortable addressing it to my friends or my family, oh definitely not. I’ve put it on my second tiktok account but I don’t let my best friends ig see it so yeah i will probably never tell them until college. I’m sure most of them won’t care but again, I never really addressed personal things about myself with them unless it’s like my depression where I couldn’t hide it anymore but anyways that’s just how I am.

So things I’ve learned since being stuck at home for 3 months: I’m depressed, I’m pan, I’m a leftist/left-leaning, and I will no longer just say I will beat someone up but I will actually do it not that I haven’t already but that’s not important. But anyways, idk how often I will use this but this is an update. I might delete some old posts based on me now and everything but yeah I will hopefully use this to update on the things I revisit! How to survive the boredom of corona

So, we’re young, most of us aren’t gonna die from corona, but we might die from the boredom of staying at home by ourselves or the stress of becoming your own teacher/ following up on online classes. These are the things I could come . up with to survive. 

1. School and learning

So a lot of universities and schools are closed now and are implementing distant learning. For a lot of university students, online classes are a thing but for me, they just want me to do it myself (aka become my own professor somehow?) 

It involves reading texts on my laptop which I find hard because I need to be able to add some kind of structure to my text. For that, I use the extension called Weava Highlighter for Chrome, which allows me to highlight in PDF-documents and on most websites 

Another problem I often run into is being distracted by other websites or my phone while trying to focus. For my phone, I use an app called Forest, which I’m sure a lot of people already know, but you can also just use downtime on iPhone, which is already implemented. (I don’t have any knowledge on android devices, sadly). For my laptop, I use StayFocusd to block sites I usually go to to distract myself, which is tricky as I often Google random facts that don’t have anything to do with my classes.

For people who are now at home and don’t have any classes to keep up with, or have some extra time, this is also a great opportunity to learn new things.

2. entertainment

Some of us aren’t allowed to leave the house anymore, but some still are. I’ll divide these things into two categories: first I’ll talk about the ones you do have to leave the house for, next I’ll talk about the ones you can do inside (using materials most people have lying around in their house). To finish off I’ll also do suggestions on things you can watch.

outside

Go for a run. Extra challenge: you’ll have to maintain a distance from everyone on your path. 

Buy some hair dye and dye your hair. Who cares if it sucks, you’re mostly stuck at home anyway!

Write your information on a piece of paper and offer your service to older people or people with children who need babysitters. Do it for free!

Go on a walk and take pictures 

Disclaimer: When going outside, wash your hands before and after, and if you offer services to elderly people, try to do things you don’t need to be inside for as much as possible, only if they really need help inside the house you should go inside, but groceries, for example, can be dropped off at the door.

Inside

Paint with whatever you can find. If you don’t have paint at home, use that make-up that you never use, food coloring,... be creative and maybe you have a new painting by the end of this!

Try on all of your clothes and clean out your closet. Extra fun if you do this while on FaceTime with your friends. 

Open that bottle of wine you’ve been saving for that special occasion and FaceTime with friends or watch a movie (considering you are of legal drinking age!) 

Try learning TikTok-dances. Again, fun guaranteed if you do this on FaceTime with friends

Write a story, might I suggest a lockdown situation because of a virus called Covid-19 as the plot.

Read a book 

Movies and other recommendations 

Completely free:

Starkid musicals: there are 12 in total and they are all uploaded on YouTube. You might know them from the Very Potter Musicals or the ‘I don’t really wanna do the work today’-vine. Darren Criss (Glee and American Crime Story), Devin Lytle (Former Buzzfeed employee) (both were mainly in the older musicals) and Joey Richter (Petey in Jessie, is in almost every Starkid Musical) are also Starkid members. Their musicals are funny and silly but I love them a lot. Disclaimer: their first musical (A Very Potter Musical) was recorded over 10 years ago, so the quality isn’t the best. Also they use a lot of explicit language...

Brat TV is a YouTube channel that has shows with young actors (read Dance Moms kids, TikTokkers, etc.) which they upload on YouTube. Younger kids seem to enjoy it a lot, but when I watch it, I watch it to laugh at how bad it actually is. 

Your local broadcasters might have free to watch shows that you maybe haven’t seen before. In my country, I was able to watch the first season of Killing Eve through the public broadcasting company. 

Netflix:

Watching new things on Netflix can be kinda hard, so here are some suggestions of shows you might’ve missed

Crash landing on you: What can I say, it’s Korean, I wasn’t really sure at first but once I got into it I couldn’t stop. It has 16 episodes that usually last over an hour. 

Inception: I thought everyone knew this movie but apparently lots of people don’t. It’s cool, watch it.

I actually don’t have more. There isn’t that much content on Netflix that is actually good and people haven’t already heard about. 

Other platforms, I don’t even know where bc I watched these illegally:

Modern love: 6 episodes, each a different story about love. 

Fleabag: Phoebe Waller-Bridge is really funny, and in this one, which she wrote herself, she plays an unnamed character who goes through some shit. Especially season 2 is wild. 

Into the wild: emotional story based on the experiences of  Chris McCandless. Yes, this story really happened... You’re gonna cry.

Radius: I can’t explain this one without revealing the plot. Just watch it. 

What Happened to Monday: 7 kids are born in a world with a 1 kid-policy so naturally they are all named after one day and take the identity of one person 

And if you’re really, really bored, might I suggest watching movies that just look like they’re gonna be bad, and they are bad and you just have a fun time laughing at how bad they are lol.
