I said I didn’t like canon divergences but I really should give more of them a shot. in this one, a-yuan has a twin, wx got together in the BM, and lwj is the person who died defending wwx at nightless, not jyl. wwx throws himself off the cliff, but survives unbeknownst to the rest of the world. the twist is that lwj also survived, so they each raise one twin while being presumed dead by the other (and assuming the other twin is dead too). the characterizations had to be a little flexible for this to work, but the way it shakes out is remarkably believable. and jyl is alive!
