Renault has unveiled its latest electric restomod, a reinterpretation of the iconic Renault 17 fastback coupe from the 1970s, created in collaboration with French designer Ora ito.
This one-off show car, coated in an exclusive Galactic Brown finish, brings the original car's sporty essence into the modern era. Powered by a 270-horsepower electric motor, the new R17 maintains many of the original's design features, such as the distinct door structure and side louvers, but with a wider body and advanced carbon fiber chassis to reduce weight and improve agility.

When you aim for gold at the Paralympics, but leave with a diamond.💍
Italian sprinter Alessandro Ossola proposed to his girlfriend in front of tens of thousands of fans in the Stade de France on Sunday.
At the end of his race, just after missing a place in the final of the T63 100m, he ran to his parents and girlfriend Arianna in the stands, dropped to his knee and popped the question.
"She answered me 'You're crazy, you're crazy' and she kissed me, so it was really exciting," he said.
For Ossola, his proposal had extra significance, given his journey and a life of incredible loss. A motorcycle accident in 2015 resulted in the death of his first wife and meant he had to have most of his left leg amputated.
"I'm a positive guy but at the beginning [it] was a hard time. But sports help me exit this darkness, this turmoil," he said.

"I've been thinking about this queen all day long."
Moo Deng - a name that roughly translates to "bouncy pig" - is a two-month-old female pygmy hippo going viral.
Zoo visitor numbers are said to have doubled since her birth in July, but videos have emerged showing some people mistreating the animal.
They were filmed throwing shellfish and even splashing water on Moo Deng to try to coax her out of sleep.
"These behaviours are not only cruel but also dangerous," the zoo's director said in a statement posted online.

Lava spewed from a volcano in southwestern Iceland on Friday the sixth time since December the volcano has erupted the Reykjanes Peninsula.
The eruption from a new fissure began shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday following a series of strong earthquakes and within the hour a 2.4-mile fissure cut through the Sundhnúkur crater.
Iceland authorities say the eruption's effects remain localized with road closures but do not threaten the population.

Marcellus Williams was executed on Tuesday night in the US state of Missouri after spending more than two decades on death row.
Williams, who had two previous executions suspended, maintained he was innocent in the 1998 fatal stabbing of Felicia Gayle in a St Louis suburb.
Lawyers for Williams had said there were concerns over the handling of his case, including arguing black jurors were wrongly excluded from his trial.
Missouri's Republican governor, Mike Parson, said, "No juror, no judge has ever found Williams' innocence claim to be credible."

The asteroid known as a 'mini-moon' is expected to make a single orbit journey around Earth, ending on November 25th.
Discovered on August 7, 2024, this asteroid is roughly 10 meters (33 feet) in diameter and will be captured by Earth's gravity from September 29 to November 25, 2024.
During this time, the asteroid will loop around Earth but won't complete a full orbit. After the two months, it will return to orbiting the Sun.

Olympic athlete Rebecca Cheptegei has died days after being doused in petrol and set on fire by a former boyfriend, a Ugandan official says.
The marathon runner, who competed in Paris, had suffered extensive burns after Sunday's alleged attack, the doctor treating her had said.
The authorities in north-west Kenya, where Cheptegei lived and trained, said she was targeted after returning home from church.

Jayden Tkaczyk, 16, says he attended an outdoor party in a wooded area in Gloucester Friday night when the alleged incident occurred.
