alright chat. how do I convince my dad (german man in his mid fifties who doesn't like anime and has only ever watched like two studio ghibli movies because he was peer pressured to by his horrible children, mostly moi) to watch fma brotherhood with me

#i'm too autistic about this. i need to show it to someone #he did watch hamilton for me but that was only two and a half hours and not like 27 #another problem is that the german dub is super cringe and while he does speak english if he had thr choice he'd probably pick german #i've watched a couple episodes in german to feel it out but ughhhh it's so bad. Al sounds older than Ed and he calls him basically #“brother mine” (Bruderherz) instead of just brother which is EW #all the military titles are so stupid too like ugh. they can't call bradley the führer in the dub due to unfortunate implications #so they call him the “great leader” like come on #BUT my dad is super used to german dubs because basically all movies are dubbed so he probably wouldn't mind it as much as me #then there's the problem that it's an anime. and the first episode is kind of really random and not the greatest hook #and that guy can be super judgemental and if anyone tries to talk shit about my roman empire imma throw hands
