I could never be J.C. Leyendecker but I could be my own artist, y'know?
#today I wanted to do separate pieces for the deadly viper assassination squad members#and I started with Elle Driver turns out man am I bad at drawing Daryl Hannah#but anyway I originally wanted to do it more on the style of old pin ups and Sveta Has cause I think it matches#I'm shit at that style#and then after like so many attempts one after another I was like ok how would *I* make this drawing#then I came up with something I was finally comfortable with sketching and it was BETTER#but I still suck at likenesses lmao#all that to say that like uhhh....... I focus a lot on equating my art to that of other people who don't necessarily have my skill set#and of whom I do NOT have the skill set of either#instead of focusing how *I* would draw this or how *I* would portray a certain scene etc#and J.C. Leyendecker is a big huge one for me like obviously I've been trying to learn his style for years#of painting not necessarily the way of portraying people because that I can do passably well#and then I forget#yknow#where's that drive thru guy meme#sir please get your sodas and go and I start talking about Norman Rockwell next#wmp.txt#not my art
