Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d predicted? i feel like every year i say that i wrote less than i wanted to/hoped to and i feel the same this year, but looking at the numbers, i actually wrote more than the year previous which is bizarre considering that most of this year was a cacophonic whirlwind and i still don’t know how anything got done (the answer is ofc the carly rae jepsen fic is an outlier and should not be counted!!!) but basically, i started the year with a bang and then….steadily declined in creative output :D

What’s your own favorite story of the year? [OPENING HORNS TO RUN AWAY WITH ME.MP3 BLARE IN THE DISTANCE] we can turn the world to gold was written in a state of breathless dizzying adoration and i think it shows. i also have a bit of an inexplicable soft spot for where the water is darker

Did you take any writing risks this year? could probably answer most of this meme with carly rae jepsen horns but yeah, trying to turn my endless crying about yuri plisetsky and figure skating into coherent sentences was a risk. signing up for yuletide again was a risk given that i was deathly afraid at the start of it that i wouldn’t finish but then wound up getting fairly excited after i got the assignment so it worked out!

Do you have any fanfic or ofic goals for the New Year? just. write. stuff. and don’t overthink it.

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: i honestly find this question the weirdest to answer every year but nothing stands out. the stuff i was invested in felt fairly appreciated in some form or other 

Most fun story to write:  i honestly churned out the first draft of we can turn the world to gold in a week flat and i can’t remember the last time i did that for something of that size and it was cathartic and exhilarating and felt almost effortless. the skating and location research for it was also SO FUN and didnt feel like work at all. i actually recall a few people responding really positively and that they felt like the featured cities were accurately painted, which was immensely rewarding given that they were places i’d never been to/had known so little about!

Story with the single sexiest moment: aha ha h a does psychological bdsm ft. matoba seiji count?? if so, sleep-paralysis pro…bab…ly

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:  where the water is darker. i got weirdly and unexpectedly emo about matoba senior and that whole trainwreck family.

Hardest story to write: the theme for this year was ~writing is hard~ so idk. just about everything. yuletide fic was fairly challenging but in a strangely fun way and not for the usual/expected reasons and i will probably say more about this after reveals are out

Biggest Disappointment: my inability to finish things :)))

Biggest Surprise:  the carly rae jepsen fic but alsoooo…the way in which 2k17 managed to unwittingly entrap me forever in exorcists hell!!!
