#alicent's whumpness is fun when i do it but annoying when people think she's the poorest little meow meow in the world#she's 30 to 40 years old. shes too old for you to say she's a victim forever and has no agency#this has been a post#remember when i was jumped for saying i wanted to ship her with whomever i liked in peace

Who are your top ten favourite ouat characters? Just curious!
oooooh goodie! I love curious questions!
Obviously, my favoritest character is Killian, but I think that goes without saying. And, of course, this covers ALL versions of Killian.
My second favorite is Regina. I absolutely love her wickedness and melodrama as the Evil Queen (though flashback Evil Queen will always be superior to S6 Evil Queen, who was a bit too camp for me), but I also love her as the mild-mannered still-evil-but-just-slightly-less-obvious-about-it Mayor Regina. And then when she decides to change for Henry... and she does so, over time and with much back-sliding, but steady forward progress... that’s great, too. And then even once she’s Hero No-Longer-Evilly-Evilly-DOOM Regina, she’s still so much fun to watch, because she’s snarky and sassy and hilarious.
After that, it gets harder to rank them in order, because I just have a hard time quantifying the things I like about each of them and which takes precedence over the others, so I shall present the other eight in alphabetical order!
Also, it’s hard to do, but I’m trying to separate these characters (and those that didn’t make this list) from their relationships with Killian when determining how much I like them. For example, Captain of Hearts is one of my fave ships... but Cora herself doesn’t really interest me too much outside of her interactions with Killian - therefore, she doesn’t make the list.
Alice: Oh, that adorable bunny. I liked her even before we found out she was Wish Hook’s daughter - and then I liked her even more <3 She’s just such a precious ray of sunshine and silliness. I don’t see how anyone could possibly NOT love that beautiful human. And the actress who played her is also a ray of sunshine and precious and lovely. BLESS.
Anna: I loved Frozen, and I liked Once’s foray into that world. I know, I know, I’m supposed to find it cringey and be annoyed by the obvious crossover cash-in to take advantage of Frozen’s wild popularity... but I don’t? I just love it. And Anna is one of the big reasons why. I just love her cheerful optimism and her hilarious quips that come straight out of her mouth without stopping by at her brain first.
Charming: I’m honestly not sure if it’s just that Josh Dallas is Good Guy shaped or if his characters just keep turning out to be likable guys who are masculine and soft in all the best ways, but I really just want to invite him and/or Charming and/or Ben Stone over for Pizza and Game Night and I’m not sorry.
Henry (S7): Don’t get me wrong, I love Kid!Henry and Jared Gilmore’s epic portrayal of him. But he was the quintessential Kid in the show, so most of his storylines were, you know, heartwarming Kid Stuff and his relationships were all Parent/Kid ones or some variation of that idea. But Andrew J. West’s adult Henry brought us all of Kid!Henry’s quirks and uncertainties and craziness in a package I could actually relate to. And he loved 80s music and movies. And he was awkward. And he made great murder boards.
Hyde: Okay, so I loved this guy the moment he showed up on our screens in the S5 finale, and not just because he likes putting people in straitjackets (although that probably did help). Sam Witwer delivered some epic performances here, and was just so. much. fun. to watch. He also pulled some epic WTF faces and had some hilarious moments amidst all the chaos that humanized Hyde and made you kinda sorta maybe totally wanna root for the guy. Then his back story got revealed and it was dirty and terrible and angsty and oh-so-good... and then they killed him off AND I WILL NEVER FORGIVE THEM.
Jefferson: Look, I don’t know who this guy is, since I don’t remember him being in any of the seasons we acknowledge on this blog, but I seem to remember liking him a lot and finding his backstory one of THE best things about The Season That Shall Not Be Named. It was whumpy as hell and disturbing and twisted and horrifying... and I loved it. And he was nuts, that always helps. Plus, I have a weakness for all things Alice in Wonderland :)
Mr. Gold: Okay, well, that’s a weird distinction to make. The thing is, I find flashback Rumple too predictable and caricature-y for my tastes, but I absolutely LOVE the unpredictable nature of Mr. Gold. What’s he after? What’s his ulterior motive? Is he working for good or for evil? Well, it turns out it’s neither - he’s working for his own purposes and gives ZERO shits about what that means for everyone else. Which makes him the proverbial Wild Card that keeps the viewer on their toes. And I love him in that role. I do hate that in order to KEEP him in that role for seven seasons, his ultimate characterization and relationships with other characters suffered for it, but I still enjoyed watching him each episode and wondering what he’d do next (and why).
Peter Pan: Oh, Robbie Kay. How he totally took on this role and made it epic and amazing. On re-watching it, you realize just how many of his stunning and chilling one liners (”Let’s play...”) were absolutely done for effect and had no bearing on the plot whatsoever, but who even cares? Pan was one of those rare villains you love to hate and hate to love in equal measure. Push it too far to one direction, and the villain ceases to be scary. Push it too much in the other, and you just literally want their stupid face off your TV screen already.
So that’s it! My own little hodge podge of favorites :D For the most part, I tend to prefer side-characters, villains, and guys who get whumped with angsty back-stories. Near-misses for the list were Cruella and Dadmo Nemo.

For the ask thing: 4/7 (they're similar), 13, 22, 27 and 46 :D
!!!!! Thanks so much for asking me ^_^ (fanfic writers unite!)
okay so:
4/7: three authors that were influential and why/early influences on your writingimma try to keep this short cos it was 4 or 7, not 4 and 7.
so the first author that springs to mind is (and i feel awkward tagging cos its not like we’re mutuals but oh well) @veliseraptor who i’m pretty sure really kicked me deep into the asgardian whump writing pit (i was already there for reading but im feel like its cos of them i actually got into writing for the fandom). the next person i have to mention is @ozhawkauthor (who i also feel awkward tagging but yea) just because i started reading their work around the time i decided never to write fanfic again, but once i started reading their soulmate shorts my brain went !!!!! and then yea…in terms of published non fanfic authors: i should probably read more but sometimes i get so stuck in fanfic eheh
the last person i’m mentioning (because they cross over to both my questions )is my big sister @hellopurpletiger who really really inspired me to start writing from the very beginning. i still remember her reading me all her re-written chapters never posted and all the plans she had for her fics, and the first time she read me gakuen alice fanfic from ff.net in the car.
Last two early (kind of) influences!: my english teachers Mrs Tetley, and Mrs Larkin. i stan
nvm that was quite long ahaaa
13. Hardest character to write. idk i want to say either Hela (because i havent really made up my mind about her internal monologue yet), supergirl/Kara Danvers (because its hard to write angst which isnt about self-loathing, which is definitely not her defining mindset), and Luna Lovegood (and it really really pains me to say this because for a while there i had her down p well i think but suddenly i dont know how to write her anymore and thats annoying cos i know some people are still waiting for my Under the Moon series to update and ughhhh) anyways yea. this was a hard question, so thank you!
22. favorite story you’ve ever written.oh ouch… i dont want to choose between my babies! but… fine -_-… i probably have to say Like Smoke In The Air. probably because it felt like an actual substantial piece of writing and i managed to finish it (within the month no less!) And because i actually felt really in control when writing it, so it turned out how i wanted it to. for once. which was nice. :D (but i also want to mention Halfmud, Three Cheers, and a circle has no beginning, just cos i want to give them some more love :///) but yea, Like Smoke In The Air, probably.
27. best reviewohhhh this is a fun one! Ngl tho it took me a fucking long time to decide on one, but at the end i went with this. not the longest or craziest but just enough that i felt it was sincere and still gives me excited happy feels even tho it was years ago:
[text: Admiral higgenbottoms: Hello! I have been following this series and waiting for new chapters for a bit and I’m so sorry I didn’t review sooner. Any how, I am really enjoying this crossover. Luna Lovegood is my favorite character from Harry Potter and even though she was raised in the red room and is different, it’s still her. It’s still the Luna Lovegood I fell in love with in the books. She’s not lost herself in any of this and I just wanted to thank you for writing her so well. This whole series is really enjoyable, I’m sure I’ve cried a few times already and laughed even more. Thank you again for writing this and posting it up, I think you are doing an amazing job! You’re wonderful! ] (ff.net- Love is Blindness)
but also shout out to this person:
AND FINALLY … 46!!!.
Fic: Stay Frosty Royal Milk Tea
(yes i enjoy fob)
The only thing in the Alignment Room is a toilet.
Apparently, it was installed after its fourth use because the late Allfather Bor realised how unpleasant clean-up would be, for those whose isolation therapy lasted more than five hours.
Loki’s isolation therapy has never lasted less than five hours.
Somehow, the smooth glazed clay of the toilet bowl feels warm to the touch against his back, even though his mind knows intellectually that it is just as cold as the rest of this room. But he supposes warmth is just relative.
It’s not bright, not at all, but the window slit provides an orange sort of glow to the room (and well, it’s refreshing to be able to see the blue of his toes)so Loki clambers awkwardly up to his feet to stretch his limbs and walk about, before the last of the light dies down.
The dimensions of the room are about four average-medium, Loki-sized footsteps by five, including the toilet. Which is ample leg room for laying down and just enough to properly exercise his muscles. He knows this as a fact. Did the maths and everything. Still – it doesn’t hurt to count again. Besides the dull ache of all this pacing is warming for his sole (and his soul too, apparently.)
It’s a simple layout. Quite ingenious really. Designed to be maddeningly effective. Four concrete walls. One with a toilet in the corner. One with a thick metal door, with a hatch that only opens from the outside. One with a horizontal slit at the ceiling, a silver of a window, barred from the outside and a pane of glass on the inside. A comfort though, for it allows whomever is staying to know the time of day.
He should be getting out soon anyway. Who will it be this time? Heimdall in his silent, disapproving witness. Or Fandral in his gloating and patronising, stupid, snivelling face. Perhaps Thor and his loud disappointment at how he expected better. At how Father expected better.
Which is dumb really? Expected better?
Come on.
Four out of five times, the person greeting him is mother, but she’s on some sort of trip with the other mothers. Something about developing her inner Seidr. Hopefully, it will be Heimdall or Sif because at least then it will be in silence.
