Except for the obvious and most important point that the military works for YOU. Literally. Unlike the police who can and will just shoot the citizens of this country without taking responsibility.

So if you don't like what the military is doing then vote properly and change it.

What the military does or doesn't do comes back to YOUR administration that YOU voted in, and therefore, YOUR choice. It's YOU sending messages to YOUR representatives (or your failure to do so).

These are the consequences of YOUR actions. If you don't like it, change it.

You do not have a coherent or cohesive worldview if your understanding of the military is that one dimensional and limited. You have just said that you don't know what a military is, or even what a country is or what it does, or how it interacts with other countries.

If a military person is "evil" because they support an institution that does terrible things, then you, the worker at Amazon or Google, or the cashier at Walmart, or the user of Twitter, are equally evil because you also support an institution that does terrible things. You support billionaires and enable their continued suppression of people just like you, you enable them to destroy local business, to meddle in the media and affairs of other governments, to stage a government takeover...

Or maybe, it's almost as if it's not the individual's fault what the institution does, and your problematic job isn't any different from someone else's.

At least the military has a professional code of conduct and is steered by the people's vote. Can't say the same thing about the billionaire-run corporations so many of you like to work for.

a lot of American leftists refuse to see members of the American military in the same light as other groups who commit atrocities because they have a personal connection to people who’ve been a part of it. But there’s no world where you can have a cohesive worldview and somehow see the US military (a completely voluntary military service) as unique and innocent in comparison to institutions like the police, border police, the IDF, etc. the lengths people will go to try and absolve these people of their actions is insane
