" doesn't matter, " he murmurs, letting helo's kiss drag him back to reality. this reality; his warm embrace, the love that radiates from helo, his gentle support. matthias never thought he'd experience a love like this, much less when they'd first met. but, nights like these, as unpleasant as they were, cemented a simple fact. hand is splayed out 'pon matthias's chest, urgent in the way that he presses down lithely and shakes the other in a desperate attempt to wake @solarodes from what looks to be a unnerving nightmare. helo recognizes them within himself, nights haunted by the memories of what they have all endured since landing on the ground years prior. he hates that he is unable to soothe the pain for the other, placate any open wounds as a balm. when helo sees matthias open his eyes, there's a sigh of relief that spills free in the air as his spine no longer stiffens. "hey... that sounded like a bad one," he whispers, lips barely hovering over matthias's forehead, pressing a tender kiss. "where did you go?"
