19 Emilaya x Robin !!! :3
AHHH MY OTP
19) “Can I hold your hand?”
[Extra information: drabbles with Emilaya will be from I-perspective if that’s okay! Because I’ve written in Emily’s i-perspective for all my life and are able to write her most smoothly that way :D Also, Fanaday is the fifth day of the week, and the drabble begins when they’re in Power-control class. Somewhere in the story, Emilaya’s energy level explodes and Robin is there to help restore her energy (because he has the power of Physical Energy). This drabble occurs a few days after she’s been feeling better]
Under a read more again because!! @bitsynoya tagging you again too~ ^^
I KIND OF WENT OVERBOARD BECAUSE I LOVE THESE TWO
“You’ve been grinning all stupidly for the past five hours.” I looked up and noticed Bella side-eyeing me with a suspicious look on her face.
“Really?” I said cheerfully. “How nice.”
“That’s not nice. It’s creepy. Why are you so happy?”
“I don’t know? Do we need reasons to be happy these days? Perhaps it’s because the sun is shining–”
“The sun shines fifty percent of the time here.”
“–Or because Brenden sang beautifully in music class today–”
“Brenden always sings beautifully??? That’s nothing new.”
“–Or because Mr. Albator has been walking around with a leaf saying ‘I adore papaya punch, it’s so cute’ on his back all day!”
Bella was silent. “Okay, that I can understand.”
I sniggered. “I’ll try to figure it out and when I know, I’ll tell you, okay? Just let me enjoy myself.”
“Sure sure. Hey, you wanna go to the lake today? It’s Fanaday and there’s nothing that needs to be finished for tomorrow.”
“Sorry, I can’t!” I said with a shrug. “I’m going to show Robin the park.”
Bella’s mouth fell open and she stared at me.
“Now you look all stupidly, Bella. It’s creepy.”
“You’re going to show Robin the park?”
I blinked innocently. “Yeah. What about it?”
Bella looked at me with an incredulous face. “Aha. I guess I can see now where that cheerful mood came from.”
I waved my hand at her face. “Don’t be silly! Yeah I’m looking forward to seeing Robin but it’s not like that’s the only reason I’m in a good mood today!”
“Yeah right.” She looked back at Albator and mumbled, “Emily’s got a daaaaate.”
“I do not!” I yelled.
“What do you not, Emilaya?” Albator asked from the front of the class.
“Uhh.” Bella was grinning too smugly for my liking, so I decided to pay her back: “I do not know why Bella hasn’t done her homework.”
Albator pouted. “Not again, Bellány?”
“Emily!” Bella hissed at me. But I smiled innocently and focused on my book.
“Well, it was voluntary anyway so I can’t say I really mind,” poor Mr. Albator sighed. “Also, I’ve been feeling something on my back all day, can anyone see if there’s a bug on there or something?”
The entire class shook their heads. “No bug, sir.”
“Oh. Well okay then.”
When we were working again, learning about the theory of Mental-Magic control, I whispered to Bella: “How’s Yason doing?”
Bella glared at me. “I hate you.”
Robin was waiting for me in front of the school. Aliciora stood next to him, chattering about whatever. Robin was listening patiently to her and nodded at the appropriate moments, but when I approached them, he looked up (how could he have known it was me?) and a bright smile appeared on his face.
“Hey Emilaya!” he said. He apologised to Aliciora and came to me quicker than I could have said “papaya punch”. “How have you been feeling?”
I only vaguely registered Aliciora looking at me angrily and stomping away from the school tree; I was too focused on the happy gaze in his eyes.
“I’ve been well!” I said. “No more tired moments or breakdowns.”
“That’s good,” Robin said gladly.
“And how have you been?” I asked as we started walking. “Gotten used to our city yet?”
“Definitely,” he answered. “Everyone’s awesome. Especially Yoni.”
“Yeah, Yoni is cool,” I nodded.
“I think so far, Yoni and you are my favourite people.”
I felt my chest swell with happiness and I joked, “Hehe. You have good taste.”
He grinned at me. “I know.”
I snickered softly.
Within a few minutes we arrived at the park, with its wonderful green fields, tall but tranquil trees and the gem of all: the shining lake full of Ziplas.
“Alright so, over there you’ve got the sport park, but I don’t go there. You can guess why. Annnd, in that direction is the city library, but you probably already know that. I will save the lake for last, because that’s the most amazing part.”
Robin nodded. “I’ll just follow you!”
And so our little tour began (I refused to call it a date. Stupid Bella). While showing him all the fields, my favourite secret places, and the best trees to climb in, we talked about many, many things. About his life in Mekinápolis, friends, my power of Sylencie, and way more. The entire afternoon I felt so ridiculously cheerful that I almost didn’t recognise myself. I had met so many nice people in my life, and yet this person, who I didn’t even know for that long, could make me laugh just by smiling at me. It was weird.
But I just decided to enjoy the feeling his presence gave me. No use overanalysing it.
An hour before twilight we arrived at the glittering lake. After Robin had expressed his amazement over the size of it and had squinted his eyes at the blue little men in the middle of the water (the Ziplas), we dropped down on the shore and enjoyed the last rays of sunlight.
We were sitting next to each other, with about twenty centimetres between us. The proximity made my heart beat in a joyful rhythm.
“This is amazing, Emilaya, thanks for taking me,” Robin said sincerely. “My cheeks hurt from laughing so much.”
“Same with me,” I said, and rubbed mine. “I had a great time.”
“We should climb the tallest tree once, together,” Robin said, looking at the trees behind us. “It looks like a sweet challenge.”
“Yes!” I said. “That is a great idea. We could make a race out of it.”
Robin smiled. “You like competitions, don’t you?”
I nodded vigurously. “Yes! Lucy and I always hold a dance battles at the Rainy Feast. And we sometimes hold battles who can stay underwater the longest.”
“Nice,” Robin said. “I’d love to dance battle against you someday.”
“I need to warn you that I’m really good.”
“I still want it.”
I grinned. “Alright then.”
We stared over the water together, watching the shadows of the trees glide over the waves. One of the Ziplas tried to outrun the shadow, but when it overtook him, he plunged in the water and pretended to be drowning. I giggled softly.
I felt Robin’s gaze on me. My cheeks turned red, because we’d been in this situation before. A situation in which I giggled softly, I mean. The last time it happened, Robin had shyly admitted that he found it cute, which I in return found super cute.
But I was too nervous to look back.
“Can I hold your hand?”
My head jerked up and I stared at him. At those words, my heart had started beating so hard I didn’t even know it could do that. Robin looked serious, but his cheeks had turned pink, proving that he felt the same nervousness as me.
“Of - of course,” I stammered. I hadn’t even thought carefully about it. The words just… said themselves.
One of Robin’s most amazing smiles appeared, and he softly put his hand over mine. When I turned my palm upwards, he closed his fingers around it.
I was probably looking like a tomato by now. A very, very dark red tomato.
“Thanks,” Robin said, smiling gently.
Holy shit, my brain went. I licked over my lips and lowered my head. “My pleasure…”
We sat like that for hours, until the stars sparkled in the sky.
Until I suddenly realised I was too late for Astrology class.
I probably won’t have to describe the look Bella gave me when I stumbled onto the roof of the Neno-school.
