I think for fanfiction. The original original Inspirations were clix0 and mildiggy on the nick dot com avatar fanfiction message boards when I was 11 lmfao just with like the concept of fanfiction and what you could do with it

And then a lot of my early inspiration and writing style for when I first started writing suju fics and then the shines a few years later was inkin_brushes on livejournal like. The high school hanchul. bruh. The witness protection hanchul?? the kihae hot arms smut?? xmen au hanchul. A lot of hanchul lol. They really like gave me the realization that I could write gay little fanfics about my emotional support kpop boys and that they could be really good. And they introduced me to a lot of the little fanfictionisms and tropes and everything

And then I was shy for a while when I first started writing for the shines and didn't talk to anyone but then authors that I became brave enough to talk to like elle n squickz and bri and cely and wishyunew and all of them really helped me get a feel for just like. writing whatever self indulgent niche bullshit you want who cares lmfao

And for non fanfiction authors I think the first one I got like actual writing inspiration from was Kristen Cashore when I read Fire and I was like. I want to write books like this !!! with like cool women and disability representation and gay people and everything

A lot of my magic inspiration comes from tamora pierce in the way she does magic in her tortall books

My craving for fun and whimsy is at least in part from mr Bill Watterson. the Calvin and Hobbes guy. my beloved. Shel Silverstein also probably

And then more recently I read this book called Wilder Girls by Rory Power and boy howdy are those girls definitely wilder. Never read a book so Visceral. So I am about to start trying to go ham like her and in the same vein I just read Now Entering Adamsville by Francesca Zappia and I just really love the main character and how tough and no bullshit she is so much so that will probably start bleeding into my stuff soon lol. Same for Each Of Us A Desert by Mark Oshiro. The Last Cuentista by Donna Barba Higuera. This Poison Heart by Kalynn Bayron. Just read all the Sailor Moon manga.

The running theme is I keep reading books about girls that are brutal and headstrong and devoted and compassionate and I'm kind of going feral about all of them

Why Is It Difficult To Find Deer-Head Chihuahua Breeders?

Finding a trustworthy breeder of Deer-Head Chihuahua puppies is a challenging job. There are almost no reliable breeders that offer Deer-Head Chihuahuas under this term mostly because this division isn’t a part of the breed standard.

High-quality Chihuahua breeders will state on their website that they breed dogs that comply with the breed standards set by dog organizations like the AKC and the UKC.

It Took 6 Years, But It Finally Happened: West Tennessee High School Celebrates An Entire School Year With No Fights – Memphis Tennessee reporting

“One of the things I tell them on the first day is the most important thing you’re going to learn in this building is not English. It’s not math. It’s not science. It’s not even history. It is how to get along with people,” said Principal Steve Killingsworth.

Killingsworth knew it would be no easy task to get nearly 500 teenage students to go an entire year without a single fight.

Principal Steve Killingsworth said in the world of social media, disagreements among students can escalate incredibly quickly and peaceful conflict resolution is becoming a lost art.

“At first it was kind of a, ‘oh, I don’t think we’ll get there,’” said student Isabella Brown, who distinctly remembers Killingsworth’s speech every day on the first day of school.

Killingsworth says the key to finally crossing the finish line came down to one simple idea.

“It was a school effort. It was not one person or two or three people. It was everybody in the building who bought into this. Everybody bought in,” said Killingsworth.

Killingsworth says teachers also played a role in preventing fights before they happened.

“Once they realized that it’s not a discipline issue; they’re not in trouble for having a conflict, they’re not in trouble for having a disagreement. That’s just part of life, then more people were willing to give us a chance to listen to them,” said Wilder.

The road to burger night even included the school’s custodian, offering kids a place to cool off if situations became too tense.

“We’ll pull them out, take them outside. Let them pick up in the front of the school and I kind of talk to them like I think their papa would cause I’m older,” said school custodian Teddy Hughes.

They did it, they would win a burger party.

In 2024 the students at Adamsville High School in McNairy County, Tennessee, finally got that party.

HOME AGAIN

WF UPDATE (5/19/24).

I’m writing this from my kitchen table. We’re back home! We enjoyed our trip to Dayton.

The drive back was uneventful. As always, we made a few stops along the way. I’ll tell you about one of the stops.

Of course, I’ll begin with a digression. One of the problems in America is that almost all of the local diners have closed. When we first hit the road- -almost 15 years ago- -we visited local diners all the time. Today, it’s hard to find a local diner. It’s sad. Don’t you agree?

I’m not talking about the big chains that masquerade as diners. Cracker Barrel isn’t a diner. Denny’s isn’t a diner. Unfortunately, we’re stuck with such places. (If you want a semi-real diner experience try Waffle House.)

Excuse the digression. Now let’s move back to the drive home.

Once upon a time, there was a guy named Bob Evans who lived in Gallipolis, Ohio. (Ain’t that a great name?) In 1948, he opened a real diner in Gallipolis. Bob quickly became frustrated with the poor quality of the sausages that were available on the market. He wanted to deliver a better product to his customers. Bob decided to make his own sausages at his local farm in Rio Grande, Ohio. Everybody loved Bob’s sausages. Business was booming. By 1953, Bob had relocated his family to a historic homestead that he purchased near his farm and he was running a big sausage making facility. In 1962, Bob opened his second restaurant at the farm and he called it “The Sausage Shop.” The rest is history. By 1980, Bob had 59 locations in seven states. By 1990 he had 260 locations in 16 states. The locations were called, quite simply, “Bob Evans Restaurant.” Until 2000, Bob’s family operated the business and they owned every single location. They sold the company in 2000 and it now has 436 locations in 18 states.

Bob probably believed that every location was just like his original diner in Gallipolis. Of course, that’s not true. Bigger isn’t better. We occasionally visit a Bob Evans Restaurant. When you walk through the door, it’s obvious that you’re not walking into a diner. It’s a poor substitute. Give me a “greasy spoon” any day.

Anyway, on the way home we stopped in Rio Grande to visit Bob’s farm and the modern restaurant that sits at that location. Overall, it was a fun visit. The land is pretty. The eating experience was so-so. It’s not a diner.

The most interesting part of the visit involves a village formerly known as Adamsville. It was established in the 1830s, not far from the site of Bob’s future farm. Over and over again, the center of town was severely damaged by monumental flooding. It became almost totally abandoned. Bob wanted to preserve the history of Adamsville. He move a bunch of the log buildings, including a few log cabins, to his land. We had fun looking at the buildings. Even though I give Bob a C- for restaurant operations, I give him an A for historic preservation.

Let’s close on another historic note. Why the hell is there a town in Ohio named “Rio Grande?” In 1846, Adamsville decided that it needed a Post Office. The application was denied because, unbeknownst to the local farmers and townspeople, there was already a Post Office in a northern Ohio town named Adamsville. A new name was needed. At the time, due to the ongoing hostilities with Mexico, the Rio Grande area was in the news all the time. The town fathers guessed that there was no existing town in Ohio named Rio Grande. Their guess was correct. That’s how it happened.
