Want a Hellcat V-8 In Your Jeep Gladiator Pickup? That’ll Be $140,000
Great things have come from engineers or enthusiasts asking themselves the right question at the right time. Hey, what if someone made a Ferrari that didn’t break down? Answer: The original Acura NSX. What if you took a 3-series racing? Answer: The BMW M3. Now, what if you stuffed a supercharged Hellcat V-8 engine under the mid-size Jeep Gladiator pickup’s hood? You’d get this big baddy currently for sale at Wilde Cars in Florida.
Look, the question of putting V-8 engines in Jeeps isnt’ a new one. Back in the day, Jeep CJs and the like came with V-8s from the factory, and these days, you can convert Wranglers to accept Hemi V-8s (lookin’ at you, AEV!). But the Gladiator is new for 2020, and we’re sure plenty of aftermarket companies are asking themselves how to install V-8s in the Jeep pickup truck. Oddly, we don’t know who specifically put the Hellcat V-8 in this specific Gladiator, but take it as an example of what’s likely to be available soon.
The ad for the used Gladiator—oh, right, this isn’t a brand-new example—bills it as “one of a kind.” We’re not so sure about that, as a simple Google search proves, but we think it’s trying to make the point that this is a custom job. (It doesn’t appear as though any aftermarket conversion kits for adding V-8 power to the Gladiator exist—yet.) In place of the Jeep’s 285-hp Pentastar V-6, the original owner of this Gladiator Rubicon had a 707-hp supercharged Hellcat V-8 installed. That more than doubles the Gladiator’s original output.
The Jeep’s list of mods extends far beyond that mighty V-8 engine. Whoever did the swap added 17×7.5 inch wheels clad in massive 37-inch Nitto Trail Grappler tires for an impressive off-road-ready look. There are also two light bars (one behind the passenger cell and one just below the windshield), LED flood lamps, and some fresh SRT and Hellcat-inspired decals.
We’re scratching our heads over the decision to swap the Jeep’s excellent Uconnect infotainment system for an aftermarket unit, but hey, some people just enjoy messing with stuff for the sake of it. (We are, after all, talking about a nearly $50,000 mid-size pickup that someone custom-fitted for a huge engine . . . ) The quilted leather on the seats is a nice upgrade, however, on the stock Jeep’s cabin.
And speaking of upgrades, all of this horsepowery goodness is going to cost you a pretty penny. Interested parties must be ready to cough up $139,900 for this Gladiator-Hellcat mashup. You could buy three stock Gladiator Rubicons for that much dough, in which case you’d have 855 horsepower and 18 cylinders but not a single supercharger between them. Or, if you like to option trucks up the way FCA did—the company sent us a Gladiator for our 2020 Truck of the Year testing that stickered for $59,685—well, you’d have only two Jeeps and less power (and still no superchargers). Still, for those of you who value power over, well, value, and can’t wait for a conversion to surface that lets you add a V-8 to the Gladiator of your choosing, it looks like this is the only Gladiator out there for you.

ACURA NSX (91-05): Worst Driver's Car Buy of 2019 via /r/cars
ACURA NSX (91-05): Worst Driver's Car Buy of 2019
As sellers of 1st generation Acura NSX cars try to unload their out-of-warranty USED 30-year-old Honda at overinflated prices (so they can use that sale money to buy a warrantied NEW C8 Corvette), I feel compelled to inform potential buyers of THE TRUTH about these cars. The truth is IF you pay more than $20,000 (USD) for a 1991-2005 Acura NSX, you're paying too much.
Why, you may ask? The 20 point explanation is NSX cars...:
ENGINE 1... are SLOW due to a WEAK powered (230 hp) HEAVY motor (487 lbs) that is a cacophony of old fragile parts with high repair costs (leaky seals + valves losing clearance + non-baffled oil pan that causes oil starvation, etc = blown motor).
Proof A) Dyno Chart https://www.dragtimes.com/1991-Acura-NSX-Dyno-Results-Graphs-27349.html Proof B) Real Weight https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-s2000-5/how-much-does-nsx-engine-weigh-60944/ Proof C) 1 loose intake screw destroys NSX engine LOL! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lV1MzSGxzNY Proof D) NSX engine blows up on Dyno https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZZXT5mC3mU
HANDLING 2... have a DEFECTIVE SUSPENSION DESIGN that causes Snap Oversteer (loss of control = CRASH). In fact, Car and Driver magazine crashed 2 NSX's during their comparison tests yet claimed it the "winner," thereby shamelessly misleading the public. Proof A) @ 4:13 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIiOW8LzACg and @ 6:56 C&D editor says "despite the crash, the NSX won that first comparison test..." WTF? No car should win ANY comparison test if it crashes when you turn it! He mentioned they crashed the updated Acura NSX for the SECOND TIME too @ the 8:03 mark. Proof B) Honest driver reports "That NSX has a DESIGN FLAW under certain cornering situations this car is [prone] to understeer then without very little warning at all that understeer turns into sharp oversteer." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvqH4-Gcals Proof C) Owner admits "[NSX] is VERY sensitive to snap over steer" @ 1:35 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoqUluKuY10 Proof E) Road Track NSX spin-out with instructor (multiple angles) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHjItVpDVDM Proof F) Road Track NSX CRASH https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0mVc3TWDoY Proof G) Even after upgrading to a coilover suspension and a Clutch Type Limited Slip Differential, this driver showed it wasn't enough to overcome the NSX's defective suspension design flaws as he reports "...Under braking the car would shimmy and drift... Smooth roll-on of the gas pedal equals understeer so you had to plan ahead. Every tap of the brake and every gear change had to be extremely smooth to avoid DISASTER. The car's handling balance would constantly shift between SNAP OVERSTEER, slight understeer... It was a non-stop war zone driving this car..." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vgy_6EgbtOg 3... suffer from tiny sized Weak Brakes + ABS Squeal (ancient malfunctioning ABS unit sooner or later) 4... have too narrow front tires (205 width same as Toyota Prius!), thus adding to poor braking and handling performance. Upgrading to wider front tires (~245mm +) requires wider aftermarket fenders to avoid tire rub. 5... are incapable of proper alignment with bigger wheels + tires and original control arms. Also, they're notorious for excessive inner tire wear (front and rear) and wear out wheel bearings FAST. The aftermarket camber adjustment kit that is supposed to fix this problem (only in the rear), does NOT FIT and requires grinding the NSX's metal control arms and the "upgraded" part to work. Proof) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tS3w_mBWje0 6... develop sloppy play in the Steering Wheel (if it didn't already exist) and retain an EXTREMELY SLOW steering rack ratio. Proof) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alCrUCeDgMw
DRIVETRAIN 7... have a DEFECTIVE Transmission housing (in some cars) causing SNAP RING Failure. Proof A) Starts @ 30 seconds mark https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4BPxNpZqN8 Proof B) https://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/Troubleshooting/transmission.htm 8... have a cable based transmission shifter that is worse than the Honda S2000's mechanically linked shifter. 9... have vague clutch pedal feel even after Type R pedal upgrade + damper deleted Slave Cylinder hose.
SAFETY 10... are DEADLY dangerous in collisions compared to newer (and cheaper) cars. The NSX's gas tank is directly behind driver and passenger just like the Porsche Carrera GT car that killed Paul Walker in a blaze of fire. Proof A) NSX gas tank fire https://imgur.com/BM4lUWF Proof B) NSX crushes occupants heads https://imgur.com/a6ZEauR Proof C) NSX passenger dies in accident https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKvk90-QZaI
OLD AGE 11... have failing Electronics (Stereo volume knob "scratch sound", Climate Control, stereo wiring going bad, window roller problem, etc).
12... have decades of Windshield Scratches from road debris = bad light refraction.
13... have expensive replacement parts that are either discontinued, increasing in price, or are hard to find (ex: 24 coolant hoses that need to be replaced because of age + radiator and header tank tend to fail, etc).
14... have Window suck from higher speeds = very noisy loud cabin. More road noise inside the car = hearing damage. Proof A) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vdai0vYnCUI
15... have wear items at only 100K Mileage @ 4:40 mark of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dn1EeGWZxaA
16... have almost ZERO parts sharing compatibility with other Honda cars.
EXTERIOR 17... have delicately thin aluminum body panels that are easy to dent and damage beyond repair. Too low ground clearance = frequent ground scrapes + susceptibility of bigger ground bumps damaging underside of car and jolting it off the road.
18... prone to old Abs plastics that have become Brittle + fragile metal clips with easy to crack tabs if you slightly over tighten a screw. This is for ALL interior, engine, and body panel alignment areas. "Spending hundreds of dollars on tiny bits of plastic due to previous owner breaking the mounting tabs." (source: https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-carpool/honda-nsx-ph-carpool/37197 ) Proof) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Vsl7JPjRuE
INTERIOR 19... have a Cramped interior (steering wheel hits legs and roof is too close to driver's head) + poor rear visibility out the back window (no one talks about this and only emphasizes front visibility). Proof A) No Head Room https://imgur.com/IHqVkjh Proof B) Driver's head (with helmet) bounces off NSX's roof as he tries to hold himself down by pushing up on the steering wheel https://media.giphy.com/media/j3OpATfUXzdipw3jw1/giphy.gif Proof C) Shorter diameter after market steering wheels used to fit normal sized HUMAN drivers. 20... suffer from lack of storage space (especially compared to the new C8 Corvette)
CONCLUSION After you spend thousands of dollars to fix SOME of the above problems, you'd have been better off with a different car that didn't have them. So, don't believe the hype about these first generation Honda NSX econo boxes. This previously advertised "every day super car" is nothing more than an over priced "super SLOW Dangerous money pit," thus making it the Worst Driver's Car Buy of 2019.

2018 Acura TLX A-Spec First Test Review: Actually Sort of Sporty
All the way back in 2004, Acura launched one of its most beloved models: the third-generation TL. The new TL paired an attractive design with a powerful 270-hp V-6, a premium interior, and an abundance of standard features at a price that significantly undercut its German competitors. But as we found in our long-term test, the front-wheel-drive TL was undertired, and torque steered way more than we would have liked.
Acura’s solution? The A-Spec package. It didn’t give the TL any additional power, but it did include an aero kit, bigger wheels, stickier tires, and a suspension tuned by one of the engineers responsible for the first-generation NSX. It practically eliminated both torque steer and understeer, turning the front-wheel drive TL into a legitimate sport sedan.
Acura’s subsequent sedans, however, have struggled to recreate that same magic. The cars themselves haven’t been bad, but the styling has been off, and it hasn’t felt like Honda knows exactly what it wants its luxury brand to be. With the much-hated “Power Plenum” grille officially dead, Acura would like us to believe it’s ready to reinvent itself. And part of that reinvention involves bringing back the A-Spec badge, this time on the TLX—the car that replaced both the TL and the TSX.
The question is, though, does the A-Spec treatment turn the TLX into a legitimate sport sedan, or has it been wasted on a car that’s a little too ho-hum to wear the badge? To find out, we ran a 2018 Acura TLX A-Spec through our full battery of tests to see just how competent it really is.
But first, what do you get for your money? Under the hood, there’s a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V-6 that sends its 290 hp to all four wheels with the help of a nine-speed automatic transmission. The A-Spec package also adds 19-inch “Shark Gray” wheels, a more aggressive appearance package, a sportier suspension, heated and ventilated sports seats, faux suede seat and door inserts, metallic trim, sportier gauges, wireless charging, and a few A-Spec badges.Â
Every A-Spec-equipped car also comes with the Technology package, which adds rain-sensing wipers, navigation, a premium 10-speaker audio system, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.Â
In our acceleration tests, the TLX hit 60 mph in 6 seconds flat and did the quarter mile in 14.5 seconds at 96.6 mph. That’s slower than the all-wheel-drive Audi A4 we last tested but ahead of the all-wheel-drive Mercedes-Benz C300. What’s impressive, though, is that the TLX laid down those exact same numbers no matter how many times we ran our tests.
“No matter what I did, it kept making the same numbers: In drive, in manual (where it still auto upshifts), with pedal overlap, without pedal overlap, it did the same run, time after time. Engine seems powerful, but the gear spacing doesn’t help it. If the gears were closer, it could use the power better,” wrote road test editor Chris Walton.Â
Braking, however, was a different story. “Four stops, and typical Honda/Acura, each one grew longer,” Walton wrote. “Brake pedal is medium-firm, and the body is well controlled and straight with no ABS pulses. However, after four quarter-mile passes, the brakes faded very much and the pedal went nearly to the floor. It needs more brakes.” Â
Even the TLX’s first 60-0 stopping distance of 118 feet was well behind the 108 feet we got from the Mercedes C-Class and the 105 feet we got from the Audi A4.
On the figure eight, testing director Kim Reynolds also had complaints about the gearing and the brakes. “I wasn’t able to completely turn off SC, but I don’t think it mattered too much. This cars gearing is sort of in-between—it wants to jump to third at the exits, which doesn’t help acceleration at all,” he wrote. “I was really having to use a lot of brake pedal force—harder pads? Anyway, it was noticeable.”
As for the handling, he found an interesting mix of understeer and oversteer: “Basically understeers but turns-in rather crisply. Some slight drift on exit. Could use a little more lateral seat support.” Still, it managed a commendable 0.92 g of lateral acceleration and a 25.8-second figure-eight time.
Although those comments might paint a picture of a pretty underwhelming sport sedan, on winding back roads, the TLX proved to be more fun than expected. For one, the exhaust note sounds surprisingly good in Sport+ mode (the mode we left the car in 99 percent of the time). And although other cars in its class offer more power and torque, 290 hp is still plenty. Â
Plus, unlike the refreshed RLX we drove recently, the TLX didn’t feel out of place in the corners. Driving the canyon roads near Los Angeles was actually enjoyable even if the TLX didn’t quite have the Alfa Romeo Giulia’s razor sharp reflexes. Â
Unfortunately, the brake fade that Walton experienced in testing was also an issue in the canyons. The bigger issue, however, was the tires. Acura sells the TLX A-Spec with Michelin Green-X tires that simply didn’t offer enough grip to encourage driving the car hard. Swap those out, and the TLX would probably be more fun.
Unfortunately, neither the refresh nor the A-Spec package can completely overhaul the TLX’s lackluster interior. For $45,765, most buyers will expect more. And although there’s always strong competition in this segment, the Genesis G70 is about to go on sale in the U.S., making the choice even harder. Based on our initial driving impressions, we suspect it will be hard to pick the TLX over the all-wheel-drive version of the G70.
It’s also impossible to talk about the TLX without bringing up its corporate sibling, the Honda Accord. The new Accord might not offer all-wheel drive or a V-6, but the 2.0T is remarkably sporty and can be had with an optional manual transmission. The Accord can’t quite hang with the TLX in the corners, but the 2.0T proved quicker to 60 mph and through the quarter mile. Plus, even without the premium nameplate, the redesigned Accord Touring actually felt more luxurious inside than the TLX. As long as all-wheel drive isn’t a necessity, a loaded Accord offers a more compelling overall package.
Still, even though the A-Spec package doesn’t quite turn the TLX into a true sport sedan, it’s not a total loss. It’s a commendable improvement over the original, especially when you consider that it’s been introduced as part of a midcycle refresh and not a full redesign. Anyone looking for a reliable all-wheel-drive sedan that offers a good number of features for the money will probably be happy with the TLX A-Spec.

New and Future Cars for 2018 and Beyond
In 2016 the car-making industry saw its seventh consecutive year of record sales in the U.S. with 17.55 million purchases in all. So far in 2017 the numbers seem to have finally plateaued, with analysts forecasting a final total closer to 17 million—still not too shabby. Various social, political, and economic factors are driving the slight decline, but don’t blame it on a lack of interesting, exciting, and appealing new vehicles designed to grab our attention. Indeed, the following is filled with more than 100 cars, crossovers, SUVs, and trucks that are either on sale now or will be within a few years. Even so, this lineup is not exhaustive in terms of everything coming down the pipe. It is composed of the top 100-plus machines that pique our interest as the automotive world continues to change on a seemingly daily basis. Although there might come a day when, as some predict, we will see a sad end to our celebration of No Boring Cars, the good news is—as evidenced on the following pages—we aren’t there yet by a long shot.
2020 Acura RLX
When to Expect It: Summer 2020
The beak is dead! Long live the diamond pentagon grille! Aside from the new mug, expect to see a bigger badge and a wider body similar to the Precision Concept for the new RLX. More tech from the flagship NSX supercar as well as more powerful electric motors for the sport hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive luxury sedan should continue to trickle over. The extra juice should provide a healthy gain to the V-6 hybrid system’s current combined 377-hp output, but the standard 310-hp V-6 in the RLX could be replaced by a version of the 2.0-liter turbocharged i-VTEC four-cylinder that’s in the 2018 Honda Accord. The six-speed automatic and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission will probably be replaced with a new 10-speed automatic transmission. More radar and lidar equipment should find its way to the redesigned RLX, as should a lot of autonomous features in the cockpit if Acura expects its fully autonomous fleet to hit the 2025 target date. The car should be available in 2020 for a starting price of around $60,000.
2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio
On Sale: Now (Early 2018 for Quadrifoglio);Â Base Price: $42,990
Alfa Romeo figures consumers in the U.S. bought about 2.1 million vehicles in the premium segment last year, a quarter of those being premium SUVs. It’s hard to imagine the mandate to build SUVs was a dream come true for Porsche, Bentley, Maserati, and very soon Lamborghini, nor would we guess Alfa loyalists unanimously embrace the idea. But that’s the market reality and why we have the 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio, named for a mountain pass in the Swiss Alps. Based on the Giulia platform, the all-wheel-drive Stelvio is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 280 horsepower mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. Styling is a strong point, as is the welcoming interior. Steering and handling are suitably Italian—weight distribution is 50/50—and even at the base level ($42,990), you get some nice features ranging from leather upholstery to a carbon-fiber driveshaft. You can step up to the Ti Lusso package for more luxury or Ti Sport for better performance, including 20-inch wheels and an upgraded suspension. You’ll have to wait until early 2018, however, for the Stelvio Quadrifoglio and its meaty 505-horsepower twin-turbo V-6.
2020 Aston Martin Valkyrie
When To Expect It: Deliveries begin 2019
Aston Martin has conceived what it calls “the hypercar of our time,” created in partnership with Red Bull Racing and Formula 1 design legend Adrian Newey. The key to achieving its goal is the Newey-designed aerodynamic package. This is a ground-effect car. Its radically sculpted floor sits higher off the road than the body sides while the grille” is an opening to funnel air into tunnels along the cockpit sides. The Valkyrie features variable ride height and a hybrid rear-wheel-drive powertrain. The engine is a new, naturally aspirated 6.5-liter Cosworth V-12, supplemented by an electric motor. Total output should exceed 1,000 hp. Constructed from materials including carbon fiber and titanium, a 2,400-pound-or-less curb weight is the target. Figure 0-60 mph in less than 3 seconds and sustained lateral grip and braking in excess of 2 g. Aston will build 150 road cars and 25 track-only versions. Price should be about $3.2 million, but all road versions are already sold.
2018 Audi A5, S5, RS 5
On Sale: Now (Late 2017 for RS 5);Â Base Price: $43,775 (A5) / $55,575 (S5) /$70,000 (RS 5 est)
Although not as elegant as the original Walter de Silva-designed first generation, Audi’s second crack at the A5 makes up for that with big leaps in technology and refinement. The simple, clean cabin is wisely designed around the stellar virtual cockpit instrument display, a segment-best feature in infotainment.
The base 252-hp turbocharged four-cylinder for the A5 is as smooth and punchy as ever, and standard all-wheel drive serves up balanced control alongside steady handling. Thanks to the new five-link front and rear suspension, the last-gen car’s unwanted understeer is a thing of the past.
For the brawnier S5, Audi amped up both power and torque by swapping out the old supercharged engine in favor of a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6. The new mill’s healthy 354 hp and 369 lb-ft are now sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission, which better manages the gobs of low-end torque than last generation’s dual-clutch.
The A5 and S5 are already in showrooms, but Audi has also confirmed a buck-wild RS 5 will arrive by year’s end as a 2018 model. Chomping at the bit with 450 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque from the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V-6 it shares with the new Porsche Panamera, the RS 5 should match the 503-hp Mercedes-AMG C63’s 3.7-second sprint to 60 mph, owing to its sophisticated all-wheel-drive setup. The A5 and S5 start at $43,775 and $55,575, respectively. The RS 5 coupe starts around $70,000 and goes on sale late in 2017.
2019 AUDI A8
On Sale: 2018 / Base Price: $80,000 (est)
Handsome. Conservative. Understated. These words have, for a decade or more, been the key descriptors of Audi’s exterior design ethos. That has changed in the last 24 months or so, and it’s going to keep changing with the introduction of the Audi A8.
The interior carries forward past themes, too, but with an edgier, futuristic flair and no more buttons thanks to two haptic feedback screens. There’s a lot going on beneath the surface as well—things such as unattended self-parking, a 12.3-inch high-resolution virtual cockpit display that replaces the instrument panel, and the ability to interpret GPS route data and sensor information to automatically coast (at speeds between 34 and 99 mph) or recuperate energy via the 48-volt belt-alternator starter system.
The 2019 Audi A8 goes on sale in the U.S. sometime next year with a starting price around $80,000.
2019 Audi Q8
On Sale: 2018 / Base Price: $55,000 (est)
Following the trend of style-first, function-second SUVs such as the BMW X6 and Mercedes GLE Coupe, the Audi Q8 will begin production in 2018 as the flagship of Ingolstadt’s SUV portfolio. The nearly finished concept version (pictured) of the Marc Lichte-penned Q8 showcases a chunky and purposeful styling language meant to break Audi’s traditionally restrained mold. (If all moves ahead as planned, it’ll be by far the least hideous option in the segment.) We also expect the Q8 will launch with the next generation of Audi’s infotainment system, featuring multiple touchscreens and a new head-up display, which will make their debut first on the new A8.
Unlike its three-row Q7 sibling, the Q8 will come exclusively as a two-row SUV, riding on the same MLB architecture that also underpins the surprisingly athletic Bentley Bentayga. Powertrain options are undetermined, but we expect the 333-hp turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 from the Q7 at launch, with a plug-in hybrid option as well as a sportier S model in the pipeline. Look for a starting price north of $55,000.
2018 AUDI RS 3
On Sale: Now;Â Base Price: $55,875
An absurd, white-hot 400-hp dynamo of an entry-level luxury sedan used to be the sort of thing we’d have to lust after from across the ocean. These are blessed times, however, seeing as Audi has renewed its commitment to beefing up its RS portfolio here in the States to better compete with BMW M and Mercedes-AMG.
Europe was able to enjoy the last RS 3 as a hatchback with a 367-hp turbo inline-five, but we’ll only get it as a sedan. Using the same all-new turbocharged inline-five and seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox as the more compact TT RS, the first-ever Audi RS 3 for the U.S. has the added benefit of four doors and a more usable back seat. Despite a little more weight and a less track-focused approach to suspension tuning, the $55,875 RS 3 will still be a potent answer to the Mercedes-AMG CLA45, capable of cracking off 0-60-mph sprints in less than 4 seconds.
2018 Audi TT RS
On Sale: Now;Â Base Price: $65,875
Anyone accusing Audi of being too sedate would do well to sample the TT RS. Packing 40 more horses and maintaining the same 3,306-pound weight, this 400-hp ĂĽberTT won the heart of contributing writer and race-car driver Andy Pilgrim. A big part of the appeal is the distinctive, all-new 2.5-liter turbo inline-five. True to Audi heritage and electrifying to witness, the new aluminum-intensive engine drops 54 pounds and sounds delicious with an optional sport exhaust.
Other major bits of kit include a nonadjustable sport suspension and carbon-ceramic front brakes, but the TT RS is a beast even with its standard steel brakes and adaptive magnetic dampers. Even under serious punishment the TT RS will not understeer; its all-wheel-drive system is capable of sending just shy of 100 percent of available torque to the rear axle.
With no real competitors at its $65,875 price point along with all-wheel drive and brutal 3.6-second 0-60-mph launches, the TT RS is in a class of its own.
2018 Bentley Continental GT
When To Expect It: Summer 2018
The 2018 Continental GT will make its debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show with a newfound focus on athleticism, technology, and an appropriately avant-garde design language. Although the new Conti’s looks borrow curvy cues from the EXP 12 Speed 6e concept, its chassis is based on Porsche’s MSB platform. The Continental’s top-dog model will be powered by a new edition of the venerable 6.0-liter W-12 delivering 624 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. In this guise, the new model eclipses the outgoing Speed version with a 0-60-mph time of 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 207 mph. By 2019 a 550-hp, 4.0-liter V-8 model should materialize, as should a plug-in hybrid that utilizes a 3.0-liter V-6. A hefty fuel tank and drivetrain efficiency improvements will deliver a cruising range of around 500 miles.
2017 Bentley Continental Supersports
On Sale: Now; Base Price: $296,025 (coupe) $325,325 (convertible)
The curtain call for the current Conti invokes brag-worthy milestones, appointing the 209-mph Supersports coupe ($296,025) as the world’s fastest four-seater and the 205-mph Supersports convertible ($325,325) as the fastest four-seat convertible. The W-12 engine sees its most potent application to date with a reworked intake and charging system and larger turbos that can spin at 150,000 rpm. The upgrades extract 700 horsepower and 750 lb-ft of torque from the 6.0-liter W-12, a 67-hp and 131-lb-ft gain over the Speed model. That motivation can launch the 2.5-ton steed to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds, aided by 88 pounds of weight loss at the wheels, brakes, and exhaust. The notoriously long-in-the-tooth infotainment hardware is at least garnished with more inventive finishes such as a dashboard embedded with a checkerboard pattern made of 12,000 strands of carbon fiber, each 10 times thinner than a strand of human hair.

Its radically sculpted floor sits higher off the road than the body sides while the “grille” is an opening to funnel air into tunnels along the cockpit sides.
The notoriously long-in-the-tooth infotainment hardware is at least garnished with more inventive finishes such as a dashboard embedded with a checkerboard pattern made of 12,000 strands of carbon fiber, each 10 times thinner than a strand of human hair.
