diehard sky cotl fan and therefore im also a diehard tgc complainer and i do not understand why there is the giant merged manta on that floor of vault

like i admire the lore building and vault is one of my favourite levels (i was starstruck for the entire of my first playthrough of it) but at what point was it a good idea to go "oh what if we stuck 4 mantas TOGETHER???? we will make no other reference to this amalgamation and it will look like a bug to everyone seeing it for the first time but let me cook"

Not too sure if you’ve done this but can you do TADC x Ghost!reader? Like they’re kinda just wearing a white sheet with black holes that resemble eyes, but there’s like nothing under the sheet so when it’s pulled off it looks like no one’s there

Assuming this is romantic imagine he tries to lift up your sheet.. probably says something about "wanting a lil sneak peek of his darling" or maybe even making a joke that the sheet is a veil.. only to pause when theres visibly nothing there. His jaws probably hang open before he composes himself and tries to play off his shock with quick witted flirting. Of course this is all stemming off the idea that you forget to tell him/he has yet to see your sheet fall off so..!

POMNI:

Depending on how long your sheet is (mentally I'm seeing it at the ankle... oddly enough I can see the reader wearing these sneakers) she probably finds out you're... invisible... after accidentally stepping on the back of your sheet and pulling it off. Stops mid apology before just absolutely freaking out. Probably let's out a choked out scream thinking she just krilled you before you slap a hand over her mouth, so no one rushes in to see the commotion.. it's a little embarrassing for both sides...! You're basically nude..!!!/j

Or actually who knows, maybe the reader views it like that... I dont know the readers personality

RAGATHA:

Ooo okay so I think she would give you cute little pins and patches for you, so you can personalize your sheet more! Also ties in the hc that ragatha makes handmade stuff for her friends/partners!

A little thrown off guard when you go sheetless around her for the first time, but she quickly shrugs it off. Pro not the weirdest thing shes seen in the circus!

Offers to make you entirely new sheets, with patches and patterns and all that now that she knows it detachable

JAX:

Does the same thing as pomni except he would do it on purpose. Or maybe he yoinks your sheet and tries to make a run for it.... before stopping dead in his tracks when he turns around and you're seemingly not there. Of course assuming this is his first time snatching your sheet

Oh reader please please dont do that ever again, his poor digital heart cant handle scares like that.. paranoia or not, I think kinger always hated jumpscares. Long before he entered the circus

Now ZOOBLE would ask you to cause some mischief when they find out you're invisible under the sheet. Except, only target it to one person... jax. I mean think about it, zooble already doesnt seem to like him... and they're probably annoyed about the whole "stealing your arm to scratch my own back thing"... I mean I doubt it's the first time jax has messed with zooble, considering he did it so casually and how he treats the others... so if you're... down with a little haunting..

Similar to ragatha, I dont think theyd be all that phased. If anything they would think it's cool! I already hc that before getting stuck in the circus, zooble was into cryptids and the supernatural as well as general "disturbing" topics, so ghosts are right up their alley...... even if you're not really a ghost

Thinks the sheet is cute! I was gonna say she finds out after accidentally tripping over your sheet and pulling it off, but... I actually.. dont know if gangle has heavy enough feet to do that

Haii splish splash helloooo hoiii hiii :33 uh don't mind this ig i just wanna put this here for fun or something since i like the not so original [at all] idea of the world of sky being more like sky: children of the dark instead of light like an apocalypse of the sorts for funsies [unoriginal as in I'm 100% not the first time come up with it at all and got like some ideas from looking at the game's concept arts for like 2 minutes]!! I even wrote like an entire not so good just basically very mid poem rhyming thing abt it cuz why nottttt rhymes are amazeballs. I wrote 7 whole pages in a notebook about each realm on 1 page and ideas for it and stuff and now i feel like shoving all of that info into a screen!! Guh……… I'll like edit this over time ig.

Our kingdom was filled with light and love, but wrath and rage transcended the eye above.

The clouds were painted in a hue so red, and from the sky, divine blood had seemed to bled.

Our lands were plauged with horror and screams, our souls faced the imminent doom of no redeem.

The soils had turned from green to black, beings of light sealed away, never to come back.

✦　It's Dark; The clouds & temple 〘 Mostly the clouds〙block the sky, but even if they didn't, the sky would always be dark anyways〘the time of day in the isle only switches from dusk and the dead of night〙

✦　There are quite a few crabs 〘 different types of crabs aswell instead of just the 1–2 usual ones in the actual game〙but there aren't any 〘living〙 krills anywhere in the isle 〘any krills that were there are nothing but piles of dust, bones or remnants of the past, frozen in time and in place by a force not to be reckoned with〙

✦　“Home” is set up inside Prophecy cave and sealed off to corrupted creatures that try to enter be 〘 very〙 powerful magic. 〘 woulda been forbidden in the previous era due to how unsafe it is to cast let alone set eyes upon〙 All the skids are lucky nothing bad happened…

✦　Corrupted spirits in the isle are normally statues that slowly move when you're not looking & try to corrupt you/freeze you in place/sink you under the sand. 〘 but this only applies to some statues, not all of them do this〙However, Some statues can be re-frozen if you shift them into a certain position.

✦　Sand dunes rose & became caves/dead ends/dens for corrupted skids, also known as packs or “the hunt/hunters”, though they are quite scarce in numbers since most of them have been involuntarily buried underneath dunes of sand.〘 some dunes are sentient, best be careful where you tread.〙

✦　Some large dunes/dark water have/has small, turquoise dots in them 〘 they're referred to as “the lens”〙that stare are you as you pass by them but you can't/shouldn't look at them directly for too long or else they'll cause you to freeze in place due to inducing high levels fear/paranoia/panick at the same time.〘despite the fact that there's nothing major to ge scared of most of the time〙A black hand usually stretches out of the dark mud/water 〘 we'll call it murk for simplicity〙or a hole in a large dune from where “the lens” is and geabs you before dragging you into where the hand came from unless you are moved out the way in time 〘there is little to no chance of return after dragged away and in〙

✦　The outskirts of isle is mainly dark water sky kids normally can't swim in unless they're specially equipped/prepared to do so.

✦　The path to Daylight Prairie Nightmare Lowland is a sea of low, dark water teeming with with packs of slumbering hunters in which a boat is needed to cross.

✦　The isle elder, instead of welcoming you, tries to prevent you from entering their temple and tries to get you to leave by commanding “the hunt” & dunes to attack you, barricading any exits with solid sand and walls. They are referred to as “The Despair”.

Whale sharks are sooo cool. So, they are the biggest fish in the seas as far as we know. And they appear to have adapted in the same way as whales for a really long time, filter feeding for plankton.

We knew that they gulped down the algae and sea grasses, but newer research shows that not only do they consume krill, and other such organisms, they also digest the plant matter that they swallow too! This means they are now beating the Kodiak bears for the largest omnivores in the world :o!!!!

Crows are fun because they're so smart. They play, they communicate, and they use tools regularly. Some of them make friends with wolves!!

In fact, they are really particular about which tools they use to retrieve food. Many of them make their own little hooks out of sticks and the like, but the adolescent and young adult crows will typically make one, well crafted hook and protect it and keep it with them. But the older adults will tend to quickly make just-good-enough hooks and then toss them when they're done. The youngster prizes perfection, while the wise know that the food is what's truly important.

Cats are pretty hard actually, because everybody is so into them already. Especially on this hellsite, but that does not deter me! The most effective hunter in the feline family tree is the black-footed cat. And oh my gods, they're absolutely adorbs(^-^)!!

These little murder mitts are from southern Africa, residing in semi-arid climates, and because of that they don't get very big (1-2 kg). But they are voracious little predators, actively hunting for 70% of the time they spend traveling. And not only that they have a 60% success rate when hunting in general. One of the highest in the animal kingdom.

Abner Krill/Polka-dot Man:

Since he's been locked up most of his life, he is not very used to the cold, and so when winter comes along while you two have started dating, you see him shiver pretty much all the time, always in clothes too thin for those temperatures.

He refuses to say when he's cold, though; and he especially denies himself every sort of warmth he could possibly get and is offered by you. The only thing he allows is for you to cuddle him, but even that never lends him the heat he needs.

Abner is so convinced that he doesn't deserve to be warm, which is why you're quickly starting to work on a sweater, a pair of socks, gloves, a scarf and a hat for him. You've long realised that if you need him to accept kindness, then it should come in the form of a present, since he cannot refuse that whatsoever, no matter how much he's fighting himself internally.

Eventually, you're done with all items for him, which he's actually seen you knit and admired your hard work all along; although he never once asked if those are for yourself or somebody else - he doesn't like to pry.

So, when he finally unwraps each item, once you've gifted them to him, he can't hold back tears. Each piece of clothing is grey and has bright coloured dots on it, resembling his dots and outfit.

At first he struggles to speak at all and doesn't know how to thank you properly; especially since he can't seem to stop crying, but you're as patient as ever with him, hugging and kissing him and assuring him that he deserves to be warm in the winter, which only causes the tears to flow even harder.

Murdoc:

It's a little surprising to you that he's actually very fond of your knitting and appreciates your work with nice, genuine compliments and a kiss on your lips. You were fully convinced that he'd think it's boring and stupid for you to have such a hobby; but luckily, Murdoc is always ready to prove you wrong.

Nonetheless, when you decide to knit him a black turtleneck, which he wears at all times anyway, you're nervous, because you're not sure he'd like that; but you also just had the urge to make something for him to show him how much you love him and are always thinking about him.

You happen to be finished with it when his birthday rolls around, a piece of information he hasn't given up easily either; and so of course it's the perfect opportunity to gift it to him.

While he's unwrapping the present, he's guessing what it could be, playfully making jokes about it; but as soon as he sees what it is, the words die in his throat and for a moment his face drops, only to brighten up a moment later with the biggest grin you've seen on his face, thus far.

He can't believe you've gone out of your way to knit the turtleneck sweater for him, but at the same time he admits that he should have guessed it. There are tears in his eyes when he thanks you - which you think you're making up at first, but they're really there -; and he’s showering you in kisses, compliments and many variations of saying thank you.

Rafael Barba:

Your knitting always impresses him, and it's also very relaxing for him to sit with you and watch and listen to you knit - it has such an instantly calming effect on him; especially after a particularly irritating day at work.

On your first Christmas together, you decide to knit him a navy blue coloured scarf; and while you're unsure about Rafael liking it, you are also very excited to see him react to it.

He is so surprised when he opens the present, unable to stop the delighted, short laugh from leaving him, before looking at you with such clear adoration in his eyes, it takes your breath away.

Thanking you mostly consists of kisses and cuddles and sweet words whispered into your ear. While he's usually so quick and smooth when talking, he can barely string the words together, he's so positively overwhelmed by this gift, since it's the first time he can remember someone other than his family to go out of their way like that to make something just for him, something so personalised - it warms his heart and makes it grow about twice as big.

From then on, you're always thinking about what you could knit for him next, while his closet is filling up quickly with all sorts of knitted items you've made just for him.

I HAVE MORE SKY: COTL THEORIES (+ Mini theories and personal headcanons)

PART 1: M O R E THEORIES

people who makes these theories should get a PhD in Sky Lore

1. Sky Kids = Eden Elder Theory

Winged Light are left behind by Child of Light, who appears in the intro in the place for the Eden elder. In Eden before we die we give winged light to fallen skykids as replacement souls. If skykid souls are made of bits of the long lost Eden elder's soul, then you could say that skykids are all collectively the new incarnation of the Eden elder. 

The reason we "shepherd the light through the storm" is because we need to bring all skykids back home so that the final star is reunited with the light. 

In the intro the light that falls down to awaken the skykids is coming from just above where the Eden elder was, implying that this is when the king finally died, spreading some bits of his soul across the realms (winged light), while the rest of his soul pieces became the souls of skykids. When they say the Eden elder is beyond saving, I think he died a lot more recently than we expect: at the start of the game. 

This theory also explains why Child of Light and children of light have such similar names: because they're parts of the same thing. Basically skykids are a result of the king relinquishing his past form and 'starting over' to bring an era of unity rather than selfishness.

Mini 1: Eden was a haven of civilization. Whatever happened in Eden lead to their downfall

Mini 2: Corrupted King/Eden Elder. In one of the Tomcepts (Concept Art by Tom Zhao) there is a drawing of a corrupted king. The King is corrupted by the darkness and is now in Eden

2. Project Ark Theory (somewhat connected to the Eden Stormlock Diamond Theory)

Based off of some concept arts, a massive ark was being built. An ark large enough to hold an entire civilization, so that they could all return home(to the stars/space/orbit). Since they were already used flying boats for transportation, why wouldn’t a huge ark do the same? The ark was planned to land in eden, because it was the highest point of the kingdom(it’s closer to their true home). To help power the ark, they built a massive diamond. Something went wrong and the diamond broke. Things turn black/red and everything falls apart.

If including the King…

The King watched over the ark project(like god watching over noah building the ark). Assuming that he cared about his kingdom, he wants all of his people to return to the stars. Maybe while the ark was being built, cities were also being built in eden(explanation of the presence of pipes and steel beams in Eden).

Some aspects of the concept art suggested that the King IS Eden. The King probably got greedy because of the abundance of light and materials produced from the ark project. He became corrupted possibly due to the dark stones ability to work with light and he turned into the Storm. Maybe there was too much light being added to the dark stone, more than it could handle.

The King becomes the Storm, the ark project is abandoned, and so was eden. The dark stones become more corrupted and turn red. The stones gain the ability to suck light out of things. Eventually, the huge diamond that was built becomes corrupted too and splits , spurting out dark energy.

3. Stormlock Diamond Creation

The Creation of the Big Diamond Eye

The spirits/elders wanted to create something more powerful than the blue diamonds. Blue diamonds needs to be powered with light to function. The blue diamonds cannot harness light itself. The blue diamonds have to be recharged manually repeatedly.

The spirits only had so much light(only what’s inside themselves and inside creatures of light). Where/How are they gonna get more light?

Where did light come from initially? The Megabird.

The Megabird is linked to the kingdom through a giant beam of light reaching up from Eden. The beam has likely been there since the beginning of time and is a source of infinite light. For a long time, no one had been able to tap into that much raw energy because it’s extremely powerful.

Whoever created the Diamond Eye wanted to siphon that infinite energy/light directly into a diamond to be stored and used like a giant battery that could power the entire kingdom. Maybe they believed that since civilization has advanced so much, they would be able to create something stronger than any diamond they had built before. As a backup measure to prevent the Diamond Eye from overflowing, they created concentrated forms of darkness(red crystal rocks) and attached it to the Diamond. The darkness would suck out any extra light that the Diamond couldn’t store. They thought it would be enough to stop a potential surge of energy from pouring out of the Diamond Eye. But of course, they were wrong. The red crystals didn’t just prevent the Diamond from exploding, they actually caused the Diamond Eye to siphon light at a faster rate than it could handle, resulting in a huge explosion of massive energy, scattering shards of red crystal and shockwaves of darkness that spread throughout the kingdom, corrupting creatures and killing the ancestors(currently spirits). After the explosion, an infinite vacuum was created(taking in light and everything around it, stirring in a huge storm).

4. Rebel Wasteland theory (possibly connected to the Two Shields Theory)

Golden Wasteland was the second most industrialized realm (first would be Eden) in the sky world and possibly the most militarised one (four out of six spirits are military, and there are soldier statues at the entrance corridor to the broken temple).

For it’s potential to be a threat, especially due to its proximity to Eden, the King fills the realm with his statues (there are 9 in total - 2 of them broken in half - not counting the turrets atop the GW temple) as a way to assert his position of leadership over the land.

Then the anti-power diamond movement started and, considering the polluted water, it must have been stronger in Wasteland than any other realm. So the people there start a strike on diamond mass production, threatening the entire line of production, and, when the king send his men in to end it, the GW spirits are backed by their Elder.

There starts the civil war with GW troop’s winning at first, and it ends with the king using his giant diamond to level wasteland (the level of destruction there is comparable only to Eden, and hardly was caused by only men-to-men combat). But by doing so, the king corrupts his giant diamond, leading to the eventual fall of Eden and the spread of darkness to all the other remaining realms.

PART 2: PERSONAL HEADCANONS AND THEORIES

1. The krills are corrupted whales. No proof except that they look similar

2. The darkness is slowly killing the krills and dark crabs.

The krills have dark particles dropping from their body, and the dark crabs have the same particles on their body. These particles are very similar to the one we see when our Skykids are dying in Stormlock Eden, after we lost all of our Winged Lights.

After we die, the dark particles drop down to the ground and disappear.

This makes me believe that these particles are slowly killing the krills and crabs.

3. The King is just the Prince on a mech.
