Killing Stalking is an online Korean manhwa by the creator known as Koogi, it is completed and I think getting an animated adaptation(???). TW: it contains lots of graphic and upsetting material such as sexual abuse, r^pe, murder, physical abuse, stalking, homophobia, slight transphobia, pedophilia, incest, the list goes on, please read my review at your discretion <3 contains spoilers

Forewarning so I dont get hate mail: I dont like or support this manhwa, i illegally read it as well so nothing goes towards the creator, I was as constructive as I could be in this review and I read it so you dont have to

Summary: yoon bum is a college student with borderline personality disorder and has been severally sexually traumatized. He has a crush on his classmate and old comrade in the army Oh Sangwoo. (Yoon is his family name so I'll be referring to him by Bum) Bum begins stalking him and one day breake into his house. Surprise! Theres a girl chained up in sangwoos basement, suprise again! Sangwoo is a serial killer and has taken Bum hostage. Over the course of the story Sangwoo repeatedly abuses Bum and makes him murder/assist in his murders. Bum and Sangwoo "bond" and Sangwoo begins to "trust" Bum and is more relaxed. An ex-detective now just plain cop who I forget the name of grows suspicious of Sangwoo but nobody believes him. It is revealed that Bum lived with his uncle due to his parents being dead, Bum looked like his mother in his Uncles eyes so his uncle repeatedly r^ped him. In the military Bum was harassed and almost r^ped if not for Sangwoo saving him, which caused Bum to develop a crush. Sangwoo had an abusive father, who his mother killed but blamed it on Sangwoo, over the course of months Sangwoos mother began to poison Sangwoo, and is hinted that he was most likely sexually abused by her. Sangwoo murdered her after she tried to kill him, Sangwoo is obsessed with Bum because he looks like Sangwoos mom (even called him "mom" in the middle of sex, yikes really proving freuds theory here buddy) eventually Sangwoo gets caught and is killed by an old lady (seriously) Bum also dies </3

Art: actually very good, the expressions are really nice 10/10, some of the backgrounds are lack luster but I dont blame them that shit is hard. The art improved noticeably over the seasons

The story: I felt like this whilst reading it

Its definitely just torture porn/regular porn I did not realize how much sex was involved in yaoi, I knew it was there but yeesh. Sangwoos depiction as a serial killer was actually pretty accurate so props to that (his victim type looks like his mommy, he has a routine in how he murders, he revisits grave sites, in some victims he keeps mementos, at first Bum's presence seems unusual until his mommy issues are revealed). After season 2 the tone shifted a lot probably due to the progression of stolkholm syndrome but it was still jarring. A lot of the earlier writing is confusing and contradictory and questions often are left unanswered (although the site I was using may have accidentally skipped some chapters.) Overall I dont reccomend reading it as it contains really sensitive and upsetting material, and romanticizes their abusive relationship and contains both homophobia and transphobia (bum is repeatedly called a pervert and a freak for his "homo tendencies" and his occasional cross dressing) but it's not baaaad? Some plot points and small details were good and thought out (in the beginning Sangwoo recognizes Bum plans to murder him and shows him in a discreet way where rat poison is and tricks Bum, at first you wonder how he knew then you see Sangwoos mom did the same thing to him, I thought that was clever) It had goodish writing and nice art, just handled a bit poorly for my taste, and I understand and feel the same as to why people dislike it/find it problematic. I'm not sure if you're supposed to feel sympathetic with Sangwoo in the end cause that's how it feels but he definitely earned what he got, go grandma!

My rating: I dont reccomend reading it, especially if you don't handle upsetting material very well, it's not as horrible as some yaoi/BL I will eventually review so it gets a 4 out of 5 what the fucks
