“Maman?” Your two year old daughter babbled, her hands moving up and down and fingers balled up to a fist—creating a grabby hand like gesture.

Motioning for Charles to carry her to which he gladly obliges.

“Yes, mon bébé, we are going to see maman” Charles said in a toddler like voice and then proceeds to twirl her in the air earning a cutesy giggle from their daughter.

“Stop, papa” she laughed, gripping tightly onto charles’ shirt to avoid slipping off his embrace. “Okay, okay, i’ll stop in one condition.”

Charlotte cocked her head to the side curiously; waiting for her dad to continue.

“With a kiss” Charles added, grinning mischievously as he stared at their daughter’s expression. Her once curious gaze turned into happy ones after hearing his “condition.”

“No papa, kisses are only for maman” she shook her head a ‘no’ and rested both her hands on her tiny hips.

She was trying to look intimidating but with her doey face she just looked like a bunny trying to act tough.

With that Charles erupted into a fit of laughter at their daughter’s movements. Making charlotte lean her head to the side and looked at her dad confusingly— thinking what made him laugh like that.

“What are you guys doing? Have you even finished getting ready?”

Charles freezes, hearing a familiar voice that came from the corner of the room to where the door was— and let me tell you; that voice does not sound happy. At all.

“Ah mon amour, yes we’ve finished” he chucked dryly.

“But papa, we haven’t put in my bows” she whispered, well she was trying to at least.

“I heard that” Max said, his brows knitted to a frown and hands rested in his hip. Wow like father like daughter.

Charles widened his eyes and scratched the back of his neck, mumbling a low ‘oh hehe’.

Max rolled his eyes, not in a mean way though more like a ‘i am going to kick your ass later’ kind of way. “We’re going to be late” he muttered and carefully took charlotte out of charles’ arms.

“Come on Mijn liefste (my sweet), let’s get you ready”

“Do you need any help, Mon cœur?.” Charles asked, wanting to ease his lover’s anger. He smiled from ear to ear showing of his dimples and of course max can’t resist that look.

He shook his head and playfully rolled his eyes this time, “sure darling”— Charles’ heart then swelled with love at the nickname.

Without a moment to spear the two of them started to fix Charlotte’s bow.

Finally, after what felt like forever they had arrive at the theater to where your recital was happening.

They walked along the crowded floor; looking for their reserved seat, and once they spotted their names they soon sat down and waited patiently for the show to start.

“Curtains up in five people,” the assistant director yelled, loud enough for only the people in backstage can hear.

You sighed nervously— shaking off the nerves with a few practice Battement tendu. You do that every performance you do, just to let out some of the pre show jitters. It somehow calms your nerves down.

After five minutes was up, the spoke person started to announce the performance and tiny little information about the recital; along with it was the curtains being pulled up to reveal all the ballet dancers including yourself.

The First song was then played and all of you started dance gracefully to the beat of the sound— who ever watched it, will be amazed on how Synchronized you guys were. As if you all were one person that’s playing tricks on their mind making them think that you’re plenty.

Amidst the crowd, there charlotte was. Her eyes fixated on your dancing figure; she was at awe on how beautiful and elegant you look just by dancing alone.

She mindlessly tugged Max’s tux without breaking her eyes off yours.

“Maman is so pretty papa” she mumbled.

Her heart full of adoration for her mom. She wishes she could be there at stage with you and hug you like crazy.

Max smiled, looking at their daughter as she gazed at you; eyes filled with proudness and love. He then tapped Charles on the shoulder and whispered what charlotte said to him.

Now the three of them were smiling brightly.

After the show ended, the three of them made their way backstage to your dressing room.

Charles was holding charlotte in his arm but she was quick to go down as soon, as you guys stepped in-front of your door.

She knocked frantically, waiting for you to open the door, when you did she ran as fast as she can and hugged you tightly down your waist.

“Maman, you looked so amazing back there” she yelled, her hug only getting tighter with excitement.

“Merci mon bébé” you smiled, stroking the roof of her head soothingly.

Both Charles and Max went towards you two and kissed the both sides of your cheeks.

“If you were there, you could see how adorable she looked” charles chuckled, making charlotte pout.

“You’re not supposed to say that papa” she grumbled and broke from your embrace and softly hit Charles’ leg.

Max and you giggled at the two; seeing them ‘fight’ was the cutest thing ever. At that moment you were so happy to have them, if you were to choose to replay one memory it would be this— the laughter from both your husbands and the pouty face of your daughter. Everything was just so perfect.

Some Physical Descriptions, pt.2

Hilda/Hilmar Hardrada

Imagine a stereotypical viking. Now give them an ice saw and cover them in scars. That's H. Built like a brick-shithouse with height to match, H is imposing in spite of their friendly nature. The fact that they have a penchant for wearing furs, thus adding volume to their silhouette, compounds this.

H's torso and arms are crisscrossed by all sorts of cut and stab scars, but their most noticeable scar is a graze wound on the right side of their head, which prevents their golden hair from growing there. Their scars aren't the only man-made mark on their body, however - they, and both of their younger siblings, have a kraken tattooed over their heart, in memory of their mother.

From what they say (and what a half-Ostrowegian MC can remember), H mostly takes after their father.

It's not a perfect match, but a good way to imagine H is Eivor from AC Valhalla. Best part is there's male and female variants for both characters, lol.

Dagrun/Dagobert Hardrada

D looks about like you'd imagine a mage to - thin and lanky, a penchant for dark-colored hooded robes, pale-skinned, and long haired, with their jet-black hair reaching all the way to their waist. When engaging in combat, they, like H, make use of chainmail and padded leather, though unlike H, D also makes use of a breastplate.

Despite their lack of room organization, D makes certain their person is immaculate. Many times has their elder sibling tried to catch them with even a speck of dirt on them, and many times have they failed.

Since D lacks both the frontline combat style and... adventurous... lifestyle of their older sibling, they are mostly mark-free, with two major exceptions: their lower-right arm, which is almost entirely scar tissue, and the space over their heart, which, just like both of their older siblings, is tattooed with a kraken in memory of their mother.

Much like how H claims to mostly take after their father in terms of looks, D (allegedly) mostly takes after their mother.

Charlotte/Charles de Alençon

C is basically Wolverine the shortest of the cast, but they're still fierce - they're even the second-most muscled RO, after H.

C is a more martial focused person due to their circumstances, and they have the looks to match. Much like B, they wear leather armor even at home (and change into plate when preparing for battle), and they keep their hair relatively short, only growing it slightly down their back (a little past their armpits, if I had to give an exact spot). Charles also declines to grow much facial hair (which he gets teased about, if B is also male.)

Despite the constant need to defend their territory, C actually has relatively few battle scars. In fact, their most notable scar is actually of medical origin, the result of a surgery performed as a young child to try and prevent improper bone growth in their left arm.

Florence/Ferdinand Anglouême

F is... the way I'd describe them is 'average but pretty'. Despite this, F is the one who probably cares the most about appearances. Much like D, they're never seen with a single speck of dirt on their body, and this extends to their outfit. F actually wears rather fine clothes, befitting their status as a duke/duchess.

Ferdinand is one of the two ROs to have facial hair. Unlike Hilmar's beard, however, Ferdinand's mustache is rather well contained, and he takes great care to make sure it's prim and proper. If you want an idea of what Ferdinand looks like, Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Anna Karenina isn't the worst illustration, different hair color aside...

F has several scars on their body, with several concentrated where their neck meets their left shoulder, underneath their right armpit, and around their groin. They also have a handful on their nose and some other extremities. These scars are the result of plague, which infected both them and their father, claiming the latter's life.

Charlotte is very closed off when you first meet. The only sort of affection she offers in the beginning is staring. Then the staring turns into slow blinking, a lot like a cat.

In the middle of the relationship, when she feels safest, she's the ultimate cuddle bug. She's so touch starved and she didn't even realize it before this relationship. But that doesn't mean the staring stops, no. Now, she won't turn away when she's caught staring.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

The very best. Extremely loyal. Anyone who's best friends with her should be honored. It takes a lot of patience and kindness to her and her brother to become best friends, let alone lovers.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

Absolutely. She loves cuddles so much. She loves it when you scooch in to her side, her arm wrapping around your shoulders and her head resting on yours. She loves the closeness and the knowledge that you both keep each other safe.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

Yes. Absolutely. She wants nothing more than to stop running and settle down. She wants a small, cozy house on isolated farmland with animals.

Given the proper materials and ingredients and a cookbook, Charlotte is a pro in the kitchen. She likes cooking, but she's better at baking, and loves it more, too. Her pastries and cookies and homemade bread are to die for.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

Charlotte is very, very loyal. If the relationship has to end, it's your fault. She feels betrayed and will not allow herself to stay with someone who betrayed her and Victor. Though, she doesn't know how to break it off. So, you get the silent treatment until you connect the dots.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

Honestly speaking? She's a bit scared of it. Her father has been out of the picture her whole life and she's scared that you'll leave her like her father left her mother.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

The definition of gentle giant. She's had to be gentle with Victor their entire lives. She is aware of her strength and knows how to control how rough or gentle she is.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

Again with the physical affection, absolutely. She loves hugs so much. They're like quick little cuddles!

She is capable of giving bear hugs, but she's scared of hurting you. You'll have to beg her to squeeze even a little bit. And when she does and sees you like it? Oh, honey, she's giving bear hugs all the time.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

It takes her a pretty long time. She wants to say it but is nervous that whenever she does, it's not sincere. She doesn't want to lie to you or scare you off. She waits for you to say it first.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

Extremely. Except, she doesn't know what to do about it. She hates seeing you with others. She doesn't mean to be that possessive. You'll have to have a talk with her, reassure her. That doesn't stop her from being jealous often.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

At first, they're a little ick to her. She doesn't understand the appeal of pressing her lips against yours. But she does enjoy sweet kisses in other places. She loves receiving forehead kisses. If you kiss her knuckles, congratulations, you now have a big flustered French woman.

It does take her a bit to warm up to her giving kisses. Once she gets used to it, there's no going back. Though kisses on the lips are going to take a bit, she will happily kiss you elsewhere.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

Victor is the only childlike person Charlotte is content with caring for.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

From years on the run, she's grown accustomed to being an early riser. If you're also an early riser, great! If not, she'll just wait. Anxiously.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

At the beginning of the relationship, she will not want to spend the night with you. She's nervous about being asleep next to someone other than Victor. But once she trusts you, she can't sleep without you. She's a light sleeper, but never moves in her sleep.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

She's very, very closed off. She won't start revealing things until she knows she can trust you. But it's not all at once. Some things take more time than others.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

Charlotte has a lot of pent up anger. Like, a lot. She doesn't want to, but she does have it. She's angered very easily but does a very good job at hiding it. But when it all comes too much, because she doesn't know how to express it, she just cries it out.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

If she were an animal, it would be an elephant. This girl has an amazing memory. She remembers almost every detail, down to your shoe size.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

Seeing you interact with her brother. Her brother is the world to her, and it means so much that someone sees that. That someone sees Victor as a human being and treats him like one.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

Extremely. She is very, very protective. If you were to be hurt, she would first make sure you're okay, and then let her anger fuel her reaction. Never towards you, of course, but to whoever hurt you.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

Not that much. She's not experienced in relationships, so she doesn't know how to plan dates. But she does remember events (birthday and anniversary) and makes sure you know she remembered.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

Pushing people away. She's so used to people being untrustworthy towards her, so she pushes people away in an attempt to protect her and Victor. But some persistence and persuasion from your part and you will have wriggled your way into her heart.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

Not very. She's never been very concerned about that. She just figures that if you love her just the way she is, she doesn't have anything she needs to change.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

Absolutely. Once she trusts you and formed a bond with you, she can't stand being away from you for long. It's like she can't function without you.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

I have so many. So, so many.

What I'll choose for this is that, as quiet as Charlotte seems, she can be loud. Very, very loud. When something gets to her and she really laughs, it's loud and contagious. And she snorts.

Grey got me t-this gigantic box of v-vinyls and a K-KISS t-shirt! *big smile* I-I can’t wait to wear it around. I r-realized my friends k-know a lot about m-my tastes. *laughs* I got a lot of I-Iron Maiden and Motley Crue s-stuff, vinyls, cassettes, band shirts and some new s-spray p-paints.

"One of the main six is going to die" - an opinion piece

Again, a show-relating rant of sorts! I do apologize for that, but the static that I call my mind just will not stop producing. Hence I will subject you, dear reader, to my very own take on a very sensitive matter. Hence, blanket TW for discussion of d*ath. In the cusps of the season one finale of HH, I have seen plenty of discussion on the topic of "who is going to die" - following an age-old (/h-jk) statement of the creator that "one of the main six is going to die". There seems to be a common conception that this will be happening now - which we do not know for sure, even if this is going to happen at all is not certain! - and the discourse mainly revolves around Vagatha and Angel Dust, with some speculating about Charlotte or possibly Alastor dying. If we stick with the common idea that the death is going to happen in the finale of the first season (which I am not completely sold on!), all of these could be compelling story-defining events, lending new and deeper motivations for those around them to oppose Heaven - but they would also be terribly boring because they are so overt!

Thus, I want to revisit two ideas with you, dear reader.. who are the "main six" in question and what does "dying" mean for each of them?

For the first one, I do not believe that the addressed "main six" are the main cast of the show or even the main characters living in the hotel! Eight characters are living there currently (Charlotte, Vagatha, Alastor, Nifty, Husker, Angel Dust, Keekee, and Pentious) and while, yes, dear Nifty and Keekee have been more of a supportive staff for now, again, this would be too overt. I will offer you a different reading.. how about the main six characters developing the plot and conflict of season one - the possibility of rehabilitation, redemption, and the opposition of this idea? Would not a death in this rank have a much bigger impact on the narrative..? I present to you, dear reader!

- Charlotte - the leader of the rebellion forming, the spokesperson for the worth and rehabilitation of Sinners. Her death could be a tragic rebirth, thrusting her into her Becoming and the Blooming of her powers. - Adam - the leader of the Exorcists, her direct foil and antagonist. His death could be an escalation of the conflict and/or the gateway to the introduction of an even Greater Evil.. we don't know what Exorcists really do all year long, and what if they keep the Greater Evil at bay? (Hints for Roo, possibly, and/or the things not written in ink). - Vagatha - the fallen Angel, protector of Charlotte, her partner and confidant. Her death could be a rebirth as a true Demon or Angel again (redemption through sacrifice, perhaps?) or a permanent fixture to support Charlotte's drive for justice. Also, why is no one talking about the possibility of HER having killed the Exorcist? - Lute - the second in command to the Exorcists and Adam's companion, as Vagatha's foil. Her death could be just as much a trigger to violence for Adam and the Exorcists, pushing the conflict to a new level. (Also, as a little side note.. we have seen her face. That cannot be a good sign! Also, what are the LED screen helmet designs all about? I cannot stop thinking about it!) - Emily - the Seraph who comes to the same conclusion as Charlotte, that Heaven has to be a lie. Her death could be a reprise of the Fall of Lucifer, her joining the main cast in the fight against the double standards of judgment to make right of what is wrong. - Carmilla - the Sinner (and possibly fallen Angel, seeing all the thematic ties she shares with Vagatha) who seems to know that Heaven cannot be trusted, but speaks for the status quo to remain unchanged - her call to conservation is a foil to Emily's drive to change. Her death would shake up the Overlords, possibly opening up the scene for the Vs to spark the fight on their front.

In my humble opinion, Lute and Carmilla would make the most compelling candidates for the character to die, if this is to happen in the finale of the season. The potential impacts of their deaths could be magnificent while also omitting the sacrifice of characters that bear the possibility of age-old, deep conflicts and developments yet to be seen. What do you think?

We understand from the beginning that Charlotte is a an emotional person, she is forced to marry a man she doesn't even know and clearly she just wants to escape this situation... quite literally ⬇

George keeps a composed and stable persona, quite flirty too (venusian energy), and persuade her to stay and marry him

Charlotte doesn't have much choice either and as we'll know, even though she project a strong/composed persona in public, she is actually submissive and moved by emotions

She enters a dream space when the wedding happens, she builds expectations and delusions on how nice this new life must feel.

George however, doesn't give her the attention she deserves after the wedding and leave her alone, and he imposes on her that from that moment on they'll live in separate buildings (yeah, not even separate rooms, but two completely different locations)

She asks for an explanation but he loses his temper and gets aggressive, so she lets this slide for now...

The days after the wedding George never visit Charlotte, much like he has withdrawn from her life completely (both Taurus and Scorpio energy enjoy spending times alone)

There's a lot of confusion that surrounds Charlotte's life.

She first is confused about why she's picked to be the King's wife, then she is confused by the king's behaviour, she's confused by the emotions she feels.

She is confused about how she should feel (both Pisces and Virgo get confused by emotions quite easily, the first feels them intensely but can't quite grasp them, the second tries to intellectualize them but refuse to admit they get emotional)

She feels like an enemy, outcasted and despised by majority of the people in the castle (those people have prejudices her because of her skin tone)

And all the people keep her in the dark about what's truly going on.

But she is analitical and smart, she starts to pick up patterns and try to decipher the bigger plan.

Days pass and she is living alone in her beautiful castle, with so much time to herself, she start to overthink.

Until she has had enough and decide to impulsively visit the King unannounced

She has all kind of thoughts, he might has gone from one brothel to another, pleasuring himself with other women instead of his wife.

She feels extremely hurt and undervalued.

But what the king was actually doing was studying astronomy and the sky all day for all these past days , scribbling down his calculations

Charlotte is surprised to see he is only passionate and obsessed with his craft and she fall for this aspect of him too, deciding to study books on astronomy and sciences to impress him (Virgo nature)

However, she doesn't find the answer she was interested in getting, the king still want to keep a distance from her, and this pisses off her even more, so she just leaves and call it a day.

But, she doesn't know the king didn't tell her all the truth (8h secretive nature)

He is in fact sick, he cannot distinguish reality from his dream world, and he has been having episodes where he completely loses his reason to insanity.

(During the time he spent alone, isolating to go through the process of metamorphosis he was trying desperately to get better, trying the violent, sick and brutal methods of his doctor, to possibly become sane and give her the life she deserves ) He has the resiliency of Taurus/Scorpio

Not to mention he is the King , and he had no choice in refusing this burden he didn't even want to take, and now, his sickness will only worsen everything and making him a total fool and inept.

His doctors methods "stabilize" him for a little while and he gains confidence to show up and give Charlotte what he had denied to her all this time.

She is clearly mad with his inconsistent behaviour (she still doesn't know anything) but she starts to soften up quite easily (Pisces nature)

George is a very romantic, intense, mysterious and passionate individual, and they both enjoy their time together (i mean, they can't take the hands off each other lmao)

Until...he starts to trascure his doctor's appointments and has an episode of madness, revealing his nature to Charlotte

We can see both parties finally coming to deal with their biggest insecurities.

Charlotte deal with her fantasies, and accept the harsh truths of reality, and decides to fully sumbit herself to the crown, taking responsibilities to help the king, not only by showing acts of service towards him, but by bearing the whole weight of the crown (as we later will see, she is almost always the only one that will rule and attend events in public as the king's conditions will get only worse and he'll have to isolate completely from society)

George's initial reaction is to isolate and give Charlotte the chance to leave and return home, that he'd understand it, but she decides to stay.

Charlotte taps in her 6th house energy

George taps in his 8th house energy

Both George and Charlotte put aside their pride and their fears to let each other know what they truly feel despite the circumstances.

They both reached a sense of maturity after this scene, and a beautiful testimony of unconditional love.

Even though this is a sad story, it teaches us so much on self-acceptance, sharing and receiving and allowing ourself to in the first place.

Faith and hope never die, the right person with the right mentality will come, we should prepare ourselves to for that moment, because it's not really the other that doesn't understand, it's us that are not letting them the chance to.

Adrien looked expectantly at his father, Marinette’s sketchbook in hand. His pigtailed friend had dropped it while she was packing up her bag and Adrien had the sudden bright idea to show the designs to his father and get Marinette an internship or apprenticeship at his father’s company.

“These designs certainly are,” Said Gabriel, flicking through the pages, “impressive. Your friend is very talented.”

Adrien grinned, “so, you’ll give her an internship?”

“I’ll think about it,” Dismissed Gabriel, making Adrien deflate a little, “go to your piano lesson.”

Adrien sighed, before leaving the study. Once he was gone, Gabriel opened the book and looked at the designs. If he published these, his business profit would skyrocket. But, if he said they were Mlle. Dupain-Cheng’s, the funds would go to her. Gabriel smirked, before he started to make subtle changes to the designs. After all, who’d believe a young girl over a fashion mogul?

Marinette slammed her head against her desk, she’d torn her room apart looking for her sketchbook. She’d had it at school a few weeks ago, and she’d looked everywhere she could think of. At home, in her bag, at school, on her way to school, at Alya’s, she’d even asked Chloé if she knew where it was.

Marinette closed her eyes for a second, before her mother gently shook her shoulder and told her she was late for school. In her rush, she didn’t see the texts her classmates had sent her. Marinette barrelled into the classroom, rearing back under the combined stares of her classmates.

“Hey?” Waved Marinette, looking around.

At first, she thought Lila had made up another lie about her, before she noticed that all of them were pitying her.

“Is everything okay?”

Alya winced, “Um, you know about your sketchbook?”

“You’ve found it?” Grinned Marinette, looking around for it, “Where was it?”

Alya winced and swallowed, “It’s, er, with Adrien’s dad.”

“Why would he have it?” Asked Marinette, confused.

“I, er, I took it,” Confessed Adrien, “I, I was hoping father would give you an internship or make you an apprentice. I-I never thought h-he’d d-do somet-thing like t-this.”

Marinette stared at Adrien, suddenly stuttering and having trouble speaking.

“W-what happened?”

“His new line is out today a-and,” Alya pushed a catalogue towards Marinette, “page 73.”

Marinette frowned, before flicking through the pages until she reached page 73, and froze. There, on the page, were her designs. Each of them subtly modified, but still recognisable as hers. She started checking other pages, finding gloves, hats, scarves, dresses, everything. All of them from her missing sketchbook.

“J-Jagged Stone’s already said the designs were yours.” Stuttered Adrien, “H-he said he saw you designing them. Marinette continued to stare at the pages. Alya gently took her arm and guided her to her seat. Lila then walked in, sporting a new jacket. One of the ones on page 47 of the catalogue that was now discarded on the classroom floor.

“Mr. Agreste’s new line came,” Smirked Lila, “what do you think?”

“Adrien’s dad stole those designs from Marinette.” Said Nino, as Marinette’s breathing suddenly sped up.

“Did she tell you that?” Questioned Lila, cogs in her mind turning.

“No, if you look at the designs, they’re all in Marinette’s style.” Said Alya, between trying to get Marinette to calm down.

“But that doesn’t prove he stole them.”

“We saw her designing them, Lila,” Snapped Nathaniel, passing a paper bag to Alya, “We saw her designing them, she showed them to us, and we know he has Marinette’s missing sketchbook.”

“He’s made minor changes to them.” Muttered Chloé flicking through the pages.

“So, they’re different designs now, right?” Asked Lila, getting a sigh from Max.

“Lila, it doesn’t work like that,” Stated Max, “they are still the same designs Marinette made and the only things Mr Agreste has done is change the logos on them, that’d be like taking the Mona Lisa and changing her skin-tone or taking your stories and replacing you with someone else.”

“There’s still some with that MDC mess on it.” Said Chloé, making everyone freeze.

“Chloé, what are you talking about?” Asked Adrien, looking at her.

“Dupain-Cheng has a habit of putting her initials on the stuff. Like that scarf Gabriel stole.” Said Chloé, opting to file her nails.

“W-what scarf?” Asked Adrien, dread pooling in his stomach.

“Toby, darling, I need to borrow Jack.” Said Edna, shooing Toby away from his boyfriend, “Go make some tea or those baked goodies you do.”

Toby snorted, before walking towards the kitchen. Edna turned her focus onto Jack, “Gabriel Agreste has finally gone insane.”

“What was the first clue, his wardrobe or the clearly forced look of his models?” Snarked Jack, leaning back in his chair.

“He’s been accused to stealing a small designer’s work and passed it off as his own.” Retorted Edna, leaning forwards, “I honestly thought he was better than that, especially after that Prague incident.”

Jack winced, before removing a phone from his pocket. Toby’s phone looked up at him, “Shit, I forgot I had this.”

Before Jack could call Toby back, the screen lit up and a cartoon wolf’s head appeared on the screen. The phone vibrated and made a howling sound, making Toby barrel into the room, “Don’t answer that, that’s my brother and he doesn’t know about some stuff yet!”

Jack blinked as Toby wrenched the phone from his hand. His hair caught fire and he threw a glare at Toby.

“Michael, hey!” Toby nearly yelled, his voice going a tone higher.

“Christine?” Asked a gruff voice, “Are you ill? Because your voice sounds different.”

“Yes, Michael, I’m fine,” Dismissed Toby, wincing at Jack, “um, not to seem rude, but why are you calling?”

There was silence on the other end.

“Check social media, we’re needed back home.” Michael then hung up the phone, getting a frown from Toby.

“Your family doesn’t know, huh?” Asked Jack, as Enda extinguished his hair.

“I’ve been meaning to tell them,” Defended Toby, opening up twitter on his phone, “I… just haven’t gotten around to it yet.”

Enda frowned, before jabbing Toby’s side, “You need to tell them darling, it’s better they know from you instead of finding out from someone else.”

“I get the feeling that was aimed at me.” Muttered Jack, igniting his hand.

Toby froze, before he dropped his phone. He stared into space for a second, before diving for his phone and punched in a number.

“Is everything alright?” Asked Jack, making Toby look at him.

“Some, some candy cane motherfucker’s stolen my sister’s work!” Seethed Toby, accidentally cracking his phone in his hand, “Fuck!”

Edna frowned, before getting out of her seat, “Jack-Jack, darling, call your family, we’re going to Paris.”

Caline pinched the bridge of her nose; she’d arrived at her class and found Marinette hyper-ventilating. Everyone had taken to yelling what happened, all at once, resulting in an indiscernible racket that led her to do something she hadn’t done in years. She lost her temper. It’d been almost funny seeing how pale everyone got, which the exception of Marinette, before everything quietened down.

She then looked to Sabrina for an explanation. While she wasn’t supposed to find fault with anyone, she knew that Sabrina loved to, to put it politely, be curious about other people’s business. She’d already given her numerous detentions because she caught her rummaging through other people’s belongings.

Sabrina had given her a condensed version of events, which then led to Caline asking Alya to take Marinette to the nurse, which then led to an ambulance being called because Marinette then had an asthma attack and, to cap everything off, paparazzi had swarmed the school entrance. Some looking for Adrien, some looking for Marinette, which all led to Damocles going ballistic, with an unfortunate incident requiring a second ambulance. The school was then given an impromptu half-day. Caline sighed, her hand resting on her bump. D’Argencourt had offered to hunt down Josiah, which Caline had declined, if Josiah didn’t want to know his own child, then he wouldn’t.

She looked up when someone knocked on her classroom’s door. Mendeleiev leaned against the doorframe.

“Dupain-Cheng’s parents have been in touch,” Said Mendeleiev, “she’s making a recovery, the hospital’s also issued her a new inhaler. Still no news on Damocles, though.”

Caline closed her eyes and sighed through her nose, “At least we’ve got one piece of good news.”

Mendeleiev hummed, before disappearing from view. Caline suddenly wanted nothing more than to go home and have a nice long bath. Her phone buzzed, getting an annoyed huff from her. Caline pulled it from her pocket and glared at the screen. She didn’t recognise the number, but she decided to answer it on a whim.

“What?”

Jack tried not to scowl as Dash’s children running around the plane. Dash was rapidly messaging someone on his phone, probably an Avenger or JL member. He heard about a race that was taking place in a couple of months between the Flash, Quicksilver and Dash. Violet was quietly speaking with Tony, occasionally throwing a dark look at Jack. Tony nervously glanced at Jack, then at Toby, Jack’s parents and back to Jack.

“Well,” Said Toby, clapping his hands, “since Paris is, sort of, being terrorised by an emotional terrorist, we might as well air any grievances we have with each other.”

“And bring us back in the loop?” Scoffed Violet, getting a wince from Tony.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Demanded Jack, as Bob groaned, and Helen covered her eyes.

“I’m just saying, it’d be a first to hear anything about you from you.”

“Look, if this is some massive problem you have with me being gay-”

“I don’t care that you’re gay, Jack,” Snapped Violet, “I care that we were told by a fucking tabloid.”

The plane fell silent, Toby letting out an awkward cough, while Jack glanced around. No one was meeting his eyes, Dash’s wife had her face buried in a book, while Tony and Violet’s eldest had opted to sink into his seat and listened to music.

“That’s what his is all about?” Asked Jack, getting a flinch and a gasp from some of his extended family, “Look, modelling is something that often requires the media being let to know somethings before anyone else.”

“So, you thought that allowing that magazine to portray us as homophobes was necessary?” Asked Dash, looking over at Jack, “Because it made things so much more difficult when we were out in public.”

“Come on, it’s not like anything happened.” Retorted Jack, before a force field snapped around his legs.

“Mom and Dad’s house was firebombed, and you think nothing happened?!” Snarled Violet, “Dash was practically forced into resigning, and that not even starting on the CPS visits because ‘worried’ neighbours ‘believed’ we were abusing our children.”

Jack swallowed, glancing around. He looked at his father, old burn scars were on his arms, Jack had always assumed there were from hero work. He’d heard that Dash had resigned from his job, but he didn’t think too much into it at the time.

“Then why didn’t anyone answer my calls?” Questioned Jack, looking around.

“I think the answer is obvious.” Said Dash, leaning forwards, “We had to move, change phone numbers. Believe it or not, you have fans that are batshit crazy.”

Jack winced, looking around, “I, I’m sorry. I didn’t know.”

Violet sighed harshly through her nose, glaring at him.

“Did you even try to contact us?” She asked, suddenly looking tired.

“None of you answered.” Jack, getting a groan from Helen.

“Okay, there’s obviously a lot we need to talk about,” Said Helen, getting to her feet, “so we might as well get the heavy stuff out of the way first.”

Michael scrawled something on a sheet of paper, as Marinette sat on the sofa with a weighted blanket covering her. Skye had rocked up to the bakery with a briefcase full of legal notes. Christine had sent a text to the Family group and said she needed to talk with them.

Marinette was slowly nodding off, Michael and Skye were sitting across from each other, while Maman and Papa were down in the bakery. Marinette found it oddly funny, this was the first time her entire family had been in one place in just over five years.

Sabine tiredly came up the stairs, “Nadja’s managed to get most of the paparazzi to back off, she said she’ll interview us herself.”

“How thoughtful.” Snarked Michael, getting a frown from his mother.

“I had an interesting phone call, as well.” Said Sabine, “your grandmother’s been in contact.”

“What, Nonna?” Asked Skye, as Marinette slowly looked around.

“No,” Answered Sabine, “your other grandmother.”

Her children all stared at her, before Marinette spoke.

“Holy shit.”

Gabriel frantically scrambled through the documents on his desk. The Cheng’s and Ricca’s had unexpectedly withdrawn their support and many of his peers were denouncing him as a fraud. He’d already tried to justify his changes to the designs made them completely different, before changing tactics and saying he was giving her exposure.

His previous changes to the designs then came back to bite him, which then had the added effect of all his assets being frozen.

It didn’t help that nearly every one of his employees had resigned, only Nathalie, Adrien’s Bodyguard and Adrien remained. He was jerked from his thoughts when his phone pinged. He glanced at the message. The bank was repossessing the house, on the grounds he was living there illegally. Why did Emilié decide to leave everything to Adrien and not him?

Sunday | Week In Review IX

I feel like I just wrote the last Sunday Week in Review five minutes ago and like six years ago at the same time. Short work weeks and coming off the back of vacation really do mess with your sense of time.

Another short week ahead too, Canadian Thanksgiving tomorrow, happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canucks who observe this holiday! 🧡

On Deck (One Shots) (Jack AU) by @something-tofightfor Just when I think I’ve gone through someone’s master list, I manage to find a gem and this is one of them. I have no clue about baseball, went to a game and had no idea what was happening no matter how many times someone tried to explain. However, I am 110% positive that if Jack was to explain the rules to me, I’d know him inside and out, oh and maybe a bit about baseball too. Gotta make sure those lessons get stretched out…

Bloom (Joel AU) by @penaonthestreets-javiinthesheetsThis was such a delightful opening chapter! Reader has their own flower shop, and just so happens our favourite Texan pays a visit. The characterization of Ellie almost steals the show from Joel’s meet-cute with Reader - I’m not going to spoil it, but I had to pick myself off of the floor after - just saying…

Working Title | Chapter 13 (Dieter) by @rhoorl I’m so rooting for these two! Both deserve a happy ending (in more than one sense!) and yet it seems there's those who want to bring them down or stand in their way. This update was a little angst, incredibly sweet and the last bit, well - I can't wait to read the next update!

Kinktober Day Two (Frankie) 🌶️ by @youvebeenlivingfictional I love the whole fun roleplay trop between established couples and this one does an excellent job of doing just that! Reader and Frankie are out at the bar having fun and, I'm not going to spoil it - go enjoy it for yourself!

Tip Your Server (Dieter) by @nothoughtsjustmeds This is just the best! Dieter and wife!reader on the night of his Oscar win and it’s just so much hilarity, sweetness & spice and the banter between the two is just the best. Please go read it, you won’t be disappointed, I promise! 

Kiss Me Quick (Dieter) by @secretelephanttattoo This, how I love this so! It’s a love letter to the British seaside and is told through a day at the beach with the one and only Dieter. It managed to not only invoke laughter but homesickness too. I’d go to the seaside for a stick of rock any day of the week with Dieter. 

Sofa So Good (Frankie) by @secretelephanttattoo This was cozy, domestic bliss wrapped up as tight as my fingers would be in Frankie’s hair. This was a sweet slice of life and so done so well. A perfect cozy Sunday read if you’re looking for one!

Video Nasty I & II (Joel) 🌶️ by @sin-djarin I don't think I've recovered from these two yet... Oof, incredibly hot, incredibly Joel and incredibly read-again worthy! Also provided a fun memory of mine working in a video store and will Marcus be forever associated with a poorly titled porno? Yes. Yes he will be.

Paranoid Heart (Javier P.) by @goodwithcheese This was such a great opener and introduction to our main character and Javi. Now, if you're thinking you need to watch Narcos to read this, take it from me, Ms. Truly 'I think I've watched six episodes now but can't remember' Betty, you don't need to, because Megan is so good at immersing you in her characters worlds that you'll be well taken care of. Can't wait to see where this story leads us!

A Month of Sundays(Various) by @gnpwdrnwhiskey I love each and every one posted so far! There’s something to be said about drabbles, little slices of life etc., six-sentence fics - because they’re not as easy to write as you think. There needs to be some establishing of what’s going on, and while not a resolution - something to end on. These are all great insights into some established characters and some we’ve not met before and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the month brings!

I missed last weeks update, so here’s an update on Frankie Cat - she’s very much settled in. She is pretty laid back as her name sake, but sometimes her tiny humans can get on her last nerves, but baby Truly #2 and her are BFF’s (mostly because baby Truly is forcing Frankie to love her, like I would the actual Frankie…)

She also has to go back to the shelter today for treatment, as she’s not 100% a Truly until her spay (which if anyone has tips for care after I’m all ears) - hopefully she doesn’t get excited and think she’s finally getting away from us… sorry Frankie Cat, you’re one of us now. Even if you do rip my feet to shit.

Do it 👀 Assign major arcana to the cast

Oh god I'm going to spend far too long thinking about this... I'm starting this exercise at 9:06 PM, we'll see how long it takes.

It goes without saying that MC is, in addition to whatever arcanum or arcana you wish to assign to them, 0 - The Fool. Fool is not only a stand-in for 'protagonist', but it also represents things like new beginnings, unlimited potential, and rashness and thoughtlessness (Upright), but also apathy and bad/faulty decisions (Reversed) - which uh... they can definitely make some of those.

C is VIII - Strength. Strength is a card of courage and, well, strength in the Upright position, and weakness, lack of faith, and lack of power in the Reversed position. C's one of the most battle hardened members of the cast, having to deal with constant border raids, and while they are able to repel them with MC's help, the constant warfare is beginning to take its toll on them. Additionally, their title got demoted during their father's era. Bonus points for it being a more feminine card since I usually think of Charlotte, because that's just how I am.

F is XIV - Temperance. Temperance is a card of opposites and synthesis, as well as serenity, moderation, and patience. F is MC's self-declared rival, and their primary motivation is to ensure the stability and peace of their realm. However, in the Reversed position, it represents impatience, frustration, disunion, and competing interests - F's primary inner conflict is about the values they were raised with versus their own personal values.

H is VII - The Chariot. The Chariot is a rough n' tumble card, which has associations with things mostly relating to willpower, perseverance, and self-confidence to a lesser degree. H is very much a boisterous and confident person, and so their outward personality very much is in line with the Upright meanings. However, inwardly, they're a little more in line with the Reversed meanings...

D is, unsurprisingly, I - The Magician. The Magician is a card of creativity, skill, and the spiritual world meeting the physical in the Upright position, but also of restraining one's own creativity in the Reversed position. D's one of the best mages in all of Marave, but the way they approach magic can often lead to disastrous consequences (see: the previous post where I mention they nearly destroyed their lower right arm.), and in a way their almost reckless approach hamstrings them. The Magician is a traditionally male card, so it gets a little funny if you have Dagrun lol.

Hope Hicks, Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign press secretary, broke into tears on Friday while testifying in the ex-president’s New York criminal hush-money trial, hours after she described his complete control over the campaign. Hicks, who cut a skittish figure in Judge Juan Merchan’s courtroom, is a key prosecution witness. She described Trump campaign staffers’ panic when a recording emerged in which Trump bragged about groping women. “This was a crisis” for his presidential bid, she said, describing the sentiment among the campaign staff.

Hicks also placed Trump squarely at the center of his campaign media strategy, telling jurors “we were all just following his lead”. The testimony marks a turning point for prosecutors, as she is the first Trump staffer with intimate knowledge of Trump’s campaign to testify about his alleged misconduct. Prosecutors allege that he tried to use payoffs to bury stories that could harm his candidacy. While her name has come up at various points during the trial, Hicks’s placement of Trump in the middle of this alleged media strategy is a stunning development. “Who overall was responsible for branding strategy?” prosecutor Matthew Colangelo asked. “I would say that Mr Trump was responsible,” Hicks said. “He deserves the credit for the different messages that the campaign focused on in terms of the agenda that he put forth.”

Hicks – who reportedly had a close relationship with Trump until her anger about the January 6 insurrection surfaced – was clearly uncomfortable. When Hicks walked to the witness stand on Friday in the ex-president’s New York criminal hush-money trial, he traced her with his eyes as she passed him. Hicks, a willowy figure who crossed into the well with small steps, had a quavering voice as she introduced herself to jurors. “My name is Hope Charlotte Hicks, and my last name is spelled H-I-C-K-S,” she said. Unsure the mic was picking up her voice, she said: “I’m really nervous.” Hicks, who was repeatedly interviewed by Robert Mueller due to her longtime proximity to Trump, also served in the White House as his communications director. When Hicks was questioned about the Access Hollywood tape that leaked in early October 2016 – in which Trump notoriously boasted that when a man is famous, he can “grab [women] by the pussy” – jurors were shown a transcript of the tape.

Asked what her first reaction was to receiving an email from a Washington Post reporter about the tape, Hicks said she was “very concerned” about the contents of the email, and the lack of time to respond. She says she forwarded the email with the subject line: “URGENT WashPost query” to others in the campaign. “It was a damaging development,” Hicks said. “[The] consensus among us that this was damaging – this was a crisis.” Former tabloid honcho David Pecker – whom prosecutors said colluded with Trump and Michael Cohen to bury stories that could hurt his campaign – said Hicks was present at the trio’s summer 2015 Trump Tower meeting.

Hicks was also asked on Friday about a media inquiry from the Wall Street Journal, which was running a story in early November 2016 about AMI’s purchase of Daniels and McDougals’ stories – and failure to run them. Hicks said that she thought she had spoken with Trump after getting this inquiry.

Hope Hicks took the stand on Friday in the People of New York v. Trump election interference trial, and during her time on the stand, she described the period in the imminent aftermath of the release of the infamous 2005 Access Hollywood tape in which he was bragging about sexual assault (and not mere "locker room talk" like he described it as) was one that nearly ended Donald Trump's campaign.
