But her charm and quick wit usually get her out of sticky situations, endearing her to the townsfolk, who see glimpses of both her father's determination and her mother's warmth in her wide-eyed optimism.

I love traumatised characters; the ones that were so mistreated by the people closest to them that now they rarely open themselves up to others in fear of being hurt; the characters that are treated as sacrificial lambs; characters that are so misunderstood that even writers forget who they truly are, at their core; the characters that would sacrifice their lives for others without betting and eye, not because they are heroes but because they don’t think of themselves as worthy of outliving others; I especially love the flawed characters that are not afraid of being flawed! They are so utterly brilliantly, so beautifully human that it hurts!

Lets saaaay no, they didnt forgive their big brother (yet?) Like its been a long time since the 3 siblings seen each other so none of them know how much they all change, especially Mike. Elizabeth and Evan didnt see their brother as a change person so even then they tryed to kill him, for thinking he was just like their dad (in Liz's case) or just for revenge (as for Evan) Speaking of them, where is Evan and Lizzie in this AU?

The last scene you see of Abby & Mike Schmidt is them eating breakfast together. Happy, together, alive. Mike got closure, Abby’s come out of her shell, and they’re content to be like that.

The last scene you see of Vanessa Afton is her in a coma after her own dad tried to kill her. Mike thanks her for saving them, but she’s unresponsive, he’s really only talking to the tubes that have intubated her and an unconscious body. Vanessa was forced to take on the burden that comes with the name, and she paid the price for it through enough childhood trauma, manipulation, and a last act of final betrayal—all courtesy of her father.
