Silas purses his lips, "I didn't throw it in your eyes."

Ezrah's chuckle is borderline disbelieving, his words teasing, "No, you threw it in my mouth, thank you so much for that...but you still lost."

The tips of his slightly-pointed ears practically glow red, and his dark eyes narrow at Ezrah's tone. He turns away sharply, placing his wooden sword back in the rack, before facing Ezrah once more.

"You and your sibling are monsters," Silas informs him promptly,

Ezrah's laugh is boisterous and unrestrained, and he covers his mouth as if to stifle it even as his shoulders shake. Silas can't help it; he drops the annoyed act, a smile forcing its way onto his lips as he watches the other man's mirth.

"And you're dating one of those monsters. Besides that, I'll have you know some circles consider my sibling a saint," Ezrah wheezes the words out between chuckles, "Though I don't believe those people had to deal with the teenage mood swings. They'd certainly reconsider the holiness they're touting."

Silas rolls his eyes, "I've never thought of your sibling and the word holy in the same sentence."

"I must admit I've only done so in reference to their socks," Ezrah grins, "My sibling aside, I truly apologize for my monstrousness, Silas."

Only Ezrah isn't a monster. He's the farthest thing from it possible. The man in question must see his face soften because Ezrah draws nearer, only a breath away now.

"I forgive you, by the way," Ezrah says quietly, his words amused yet dry, "For the dirt. My mouth tastes absolutely disgusting."

"Figured I might as well try anything," Silas shrugs, glancing away, "Not like it worked."

"It startled me," Ezrah admits, his smile turning into something beguiling that makes Silas feel as if he's been struck, "Though, if you really wanted me off my game, you should've done something else to my mouth."

His eyes fall, pointedly, to Silas's own lips. A flush is slowly working its way up the Leydonian's neck and seeping into his cheeks, and Ezrah appears to relish the sight of it. If Silas felt stricken before, he's not quite certain how he feels now. He thinks his heart might be trying to flee the confines of his chest.

Ezrah leans forward, and Silas braces himself for a brushing of lips that'll make this heat finally spark a fire and consume him in the flames...

Only Ezrah doesn't do that. He reaches around Silas with the barest tilt of a smirk to his lips, returning his sword to the rack Silas still stands in front of.

"You wouldn't want me kissing you now," Ezrah feigns concern, "I told you, my mouth tastes terrible."

He's gone, walking away with a wink and the barest brush of shoulders. Silas doesn't know why he tries to get a leg up on this infuriating man anymore; he never wins, so he really should just give in and stop trying.

What would their favorite characters be?: This is a little difficult to answer because ModPark takes place in a vague-ass time period, but I think that Vonnie would like comedic cartoons that aren’t afraid to get really adult and/or dark. Stuff like Courage The Cowardly Dog, Rocko’s Modern Life, and Ren And Stimpy.

11. What kinds of foods and drinks do they like? Do they like certain foods to be fried? Do they like certain foods to be prepared hot/cold?: I always envisioned her as Latinx so she likes Mexican food for sure. She’s always down for junk food though, fried, sweet, hot, cold, you name it.

18. What type of singing voice does your OC have?: She can just barely carry a tune.

2. Say your OC made a playlist on Spotify. What bands would be on that playlist? Any specific genres?: All the songs would be nostalgic pop songs from 10-15 years ago that are really upbeat, the kind of shit you’d hear over the loudspeakers at an amusement park. I can’t really say which bands because again, vague-ass time period.

5. What’s their favorite type of weather? Do they like to do anything specific on days when the weather is how they like it?: Casey prefers dry weather; if it’s raining or even really humid, he feels like he’s going to mildew (whether that’s the truth or not). However, he never takes much notice of temperature, unless it’s EXTREMELY hot or cold. Anytime it’s clear and dry, he likes to go out and explore the city, which has led to Vonnie repeatedly explaining that forty degrees is not ideal going-out weather.

10. What’s their favorite time of day?: Late morning/early afternoon, like 10 AM to 1 PM.

11. What kinds of foods and drinks do they like? Do they like certain foods to be fried? Do they like certain foods to be prepared hot/cold?: So this is interesting since because of Silas’s mask, his sense of pleasure is dulled, and that includes the pleasure he gets from food. As a result, he lives on plain foods that are quick/easy to make, but nothing fried because the grease bothers him. However, the mask can’t completely get rid of his sweet tooth.

14. If your OC owned a Tumblr blog, what kind of content would they post?: Either he’d just reblog news and social justice stuff, or he’d never move beyond the default icon and a blog named “Untitled.”

17. If your OC was a musical artist, what genres would they do?: He would specialize in really long and intricate songs that tell some kind of story. So not exactly top 40 hits here.

If they’re a fan of Hot Chocolate, Tea, or Coffee, how do they like either of those drinks prepared?: Something I never really got a chance to mention in The Other Side is that most gods have a really hard time ingesting major stimulants or depressants like caffeine or alchohol, so no coffee or tea for her. That said, she enjoys hot chocolate, but only if you make it with milk instead of water. You need to love yourself.

9. How do they write? Do they write in cursive? How do they dot their i’s and j’s? Do they have specific ways that they write certain letters?: She does write in cursive, but that’s because when she was growing up it was just common for everybody to write in cursive. Her handwriting always looks really rushed and impatient and it slants to the right a lot. Also, half the time she doesn’t dot her i’s and j’s or cross her t’s.

16. If your OC was a film director, what kind of movies would they make?: Oh martial arts movies for sure. Not just action movies, but movies that really focus on elaborate fighting technique.

3. What kind of video games would they play? Any specific titles?: …do they have video games in Halloweentown? Uh, well, let’s pretend she snuck into the human world to play video games. Probably she’d play any of those horror games with “cute” characters, like FNAF or Bendy and the Ink Machine. And she obviously roots for the monsters.

7. What kind of animals would they like as a pet? What names would they give their pets if they got any? If they already have pet’s what are their names?: She owns a large black widow spider named Kitty! She’d also like to get a bat, but her parents told her that the bat might eat Kitty, so she hasn’t done that yet.

19. Does your OC like to collect things? What kind of things do they collect?: She likes to collect “treasures” which are usually just discarded things that seem like they might be somehow valuable: discarded or broken jewelry, empty potion bottles, unusual stones, things like that.

Aaaaaand 12. If they were an actual character in an animated film or TV series, who would they be voiced by? Do they have a certain accent that the person would need to perfect?

I do actually have voice actors in mind for Chuva and Silas! Chuva would be voiced by Teal Wicks, who was Elphaba in Wicked and also Emma in the latest version of Jekyll & Hyde. Silas would be voiced by Ramin Karimloo, who’s done a bunch of stuff, but I know him most from playing the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera! He’s actually my favorite Phantom, and his voice has this sort of regal yet modern feel that I think would be perfect for Silas.

I love this teacher. Oh man, this really could have some serious effects, dpending on what these three will do.

The question is, when Karkat saw those social media messages about the public opinion turning against Jane, was that just in response to the original picture, or have these people already spoken out by then?

They could truly become important influencers in the public conversation here.

I love the references to the fact that is taking place in just a side story.

You know, it's really too bad that the bonus updates only come once per month. We've got a lot of ongoing side-stories right now, and I'd love to see how they continue.

But unfortunately, it can take a long time to see some of those through to the end.

Anyway, this was another really cool sidestory and definitely setting up for some possible influence (hehe) on the main plot.

It's interesting how this is the first sidestory taking place on Candy, while all other ones were Meat-focused! Good to see that they really can take place in both timelines.
