honestly i think the answer has to be no, right, not if i want the fic to end with romantic obikin and no other pairing (there is no other option for a kit fic im sorry to say anidala is going to get a divorce because anakin is going to realize he's head over heels obsessed with obi-wan kenobi)

like i feel like if padme tells anakin she's pregnant, then anakin, who has recently realized he may be in love with obi-wan, would tell obi-wan and obi-wan would realize he's definitely in love with anakin because he'll also realize that anakin is reluctant to start a family and be a jedi, and he knows by now that the thing anakin likes the most about being a jedi is being around obi-wan, but he also thinks that anakin has always wanted a family of his own and obi-wan refuses to stand in the way of that

so he'll say a bunch of awful things to break both their hearts so anakin stays with his family who he wants more than he'd ever want obi-wan

so unfortunately, no pregnancy for pads in this fic </3 I just can't see it ending well for our disaster duo over here

(maybe there was a pregnancy scare and anakin told palpatine about it who was a bit too enthusiastic to start sending him nightmares of padmé dying in childbirth so when it turns out she's not pregnant, anakin swears to be celibate forever so she can never die from childbirth and by the end of the war, she's convinced him into doing hand and mouth stuff but that's it. just to be on the safe side.)
