A/N: it’s literally 4 am and i didn’t proofread so i’m sorry if this is bad // i did actual research about Godzilla for this bye // if any of you are wondering about how my Laundry Room part 2 is going i’m really stuck right now and i’m trying to get it done so i’m really sorry to everybody that has been wanting it i’ll try to get it up asap

A giggle escaped Y/N’s throat as she crunched down on another potato chip and scrolled through her Instagram feed. Her head rested on her pillow lazily, a vibration shaking her phone.

A text had popped up at the top of her screen sent by her best friend.

Peter:

Hey, I’m bored, you wanna catch a movie?

Y/N tapped her screen, taking herself to her messages between Peter. They were previously fighting over a conspiracy theory about time-travel.

Y/N:

Sure, I have nothing to do with my life anyway. What movie you wanna see??

Peter is typing…

Peter:

Not sure, I heard they’re showing Planet of the Apes in memorial of the upcoming anniversary. You wanna see that?

Y/N physically rolled her eyes at his blatant nerdiness.

Y/N:

BORIIINNGGG. Let’s watch something that doesn't make me want to leave the theater mid-movie.

Peter is typing…

Peter:

Excuse me, that is a wonderful movie. I’m gonna pretend like you didn't say that.

Y/N:

Whatever dork

Peter is typing…

Peter:

Well what do you want to see?

Y/N clicked out of her messages to search what movies happened to be playing, spotting a cute romantic comedy. She smiled going back into their conversation.

Y/N:

What about Midnight Sun?

Peter was typing on his computer when he received the message, picking up his phone that was laying next to him on his navy blue bed sheets. His eyes widened.

Peter:

NO

Peter is typing…

Peter:

We are NOT seeing a romcom

Y/N:

Awe why not :(

Peter is typing…

Peter:

Because romantic comedies are cheesy and the acting is awful and I don't deserve to be put through that torture

Y/N:

You haven't seen it so how would you know if it’s cheesy and the acting is bad?

Peter:

Every romantic comedy is like that. They all have the same plot.

Y/N:

Peter sighed before giving into her.

Peter:

Fine

Y/N grinned at her victory.

Y/N:

YAAAAYYYYYYY

Y/N’s arm wrapped Peter’s bicep as she clung to him for warmth as the cold wind blew against her unclothed skin. She was shaking dramatically over the chilly weather.

“You should’ve brought a jacket, wimp.” Peter joked sarcastically as they walked towards the movie theater doors. “Hey, I didn't know I’d need it, leave me alone, bully.” she said, jumping inside the building quickly as Peter held the door open for her.

They stood in line to buy their tickets, starting regular chitchat as they waited.

“Okay, Jurassic Park or Godzilla?” Y/N asked, moving up when the line shifted forward.

“They’re two totally different species of animal. Jurassic Park involves dinosaurs and Godzilla is just a giant monster. He doesn’t affiliate with dinosaurs.” Peter debated. Y/N squinted her eyes at him. “Then why does he look exactly like a dinosaur?” she asked with a chuckle.

He sighed before continuing. “He’s not a dinosaur. He’s just a humongous amphibious reptile.” Peter stated, their spot in the line scooting closer to the cashier. “Hey, wait, how do you know it is a male? It could be a strong, ambitious woman and we’re mistaking her gender. She could be highly offended by us.” Y/N baited, raising her hands at him.

Peter laughed at her. “Godzilla is supposedly gender-neutral. Even Haruo Nakajima, the original director of the movie, said that he doesn't have a clue what the sex of the monster is.” he negotiated and Y/N loved his sense of knowledge on the ridiculous fictional character.

She laughed at him. “You’re such a nerd, Parker. It’s so adorable.” she teased, nudging his arm as they reached the ticket and candy booth. Peter’s cheeks turned rose pink and he pulled out his wallet.

“Two tickets for Midnight Sun at 8:15 please and a box of Sour Patch Kids?” Peter requested, pulling out a twenty dollar bill to give to the cashier.

Y/N’s eyebrows pulled together. “Hold on, no, no, no, I can pay for my own ticket and candy!” she insisted but Peter already handed the woman his money. “S’fine, I don't mind.” he shrugged, unbothered.

“You’re way too sweet to me.” Y/N replied and pecked his cheek with a kiss. Peter’s face flushed a deeper shade of red, a tiny smile spreading across his face at her action as he tucked his head down.

“You two are cute. Reminds me of my daughter and her boyfriend. How long have you been together?” she questioned simultaneously pulling out more bills and coins to give Peter as change while he grabbed his candy and the two tickets.

Y/N gulped nervously before squeaking out an answer. Peter looked at the woman’s name tag which appeared to have the name Sandy written in the white.

“Oh, no, heh, we’re not a thing. We’re just friends.” she concluded, gesturing to themselves.

Sandy smiled at them, dropping the change in Peter’s hand. “Oops, my bad. I’m sorry. Enjoy your movie.” she apologized, moving onto the next customer as Peter and Y/N stepped out of the way.

Y/N anxiously laughed. “That was weird.” she said. “Yeah.” Peter agreed awkwardly as they approached the man who patiently waited to rip their tickets.

“Theater five on your right.” he directed, gifting the paper back to them.

When Peter and Y/N stepped inside the dark room they hastily began to find somewhere comfortable to sit. They discovered the perfect seats and got relaxed.

As the beginning previews played on the big screen Y/N looked admiringly at how the colors from the videos reflected on Peter’s skin and she began to stare before shaking away her eyes, putting her attention back on the projected monitor. She smiled to herself at his obliviousness of her adoration for him because she thought it was cute that he was unaware that he was so captivating to her.

As the candy box was already growing dry Peter closed it at the moment Y/N wanted to reach her hand inside. She gave him a pleading look and instead his eyes stayed on the screen. She did the same, ignoring him. His mouth, inches away from her ear, whispered, “Save some for the movie.” and a shiver ran down her neck.

The movie started and as an old habit she delicately rested her head on his shoulder, snaking her fingers in between the spaces where his weren't.

He wrapped his fingers around her hand, touching her knuckles, satisfied with the softness of her caress against the wrinkles in his skin.

“That wasn't bad at all!” Y/N exclaimed, stretching after being framed in a seat for an hour. Peter mimicked her, shaking his hair and grabbing his trash.

“Yeah, it wasn't as horribly awful as I thought it would be.” Peter said. People all around got up to leave when Peter and Y/N exited through the door, throwing away their empty candy box on their way out.

“I thought the part where she dramatically fainted in the hospital was a bit much, especially with the slo-mo scream.” Y/N added, Peter by her side as they walked outside. The breeze giving Y/N’s bare arms goosebumps.

“That’s true. I liked the whole concept but it was still sort of cheesy in certain scenes.” Peter uttered honestly. Y/N chuckled at his opinion. “Okay, but, I still cried when he read the letter she wrote to him.” Peter rolled his eyes. “You cry at everything that’s like that.” he told, his footsteps echoing through the dark neighborhood. “Uh, because I’m human, Peter. I’m sorry I’m not a weirdo like you who only cries when he stubs his toe on my door frame.” she defended.

Peter gasped and Y/N started to laugh hysterically at the memory. “THAT WAS ONE TIME, OKAY?!”

The two continued conversation about Peter's “Stark internship” and the huge Spanish exam coming up as they walked to Y/N’s home, stopping to say their goodbyes before she went to open her door. Peter coincidentally lived only blocks away from her so it was convenient for the both of them when they wanted to hang out together.

“You know Peter,” Y/N purred as pieces of her hair fell from behind her ears when she looked down at her shoes. “I had a really good time tonight.”

He sent her a soft smile at her acknowledgement. She giggled. “I mean I know it wasn't a date or anything but I just wanted to tell you.” she corrected.

“I h-had a really good time too, Y/N.” he repeated to let her know he agreed with her.

They stood in a nice, subtle silence, appreciating each other's beauty without either one knowing about it.

Her eyes fell on his lips and she thought deep about how much she wanted him to share them with her.

He dreamed about her eyes and how lovely it be for her lashes to flutter down when he kissed her for the first time.

“I better get inside, my parents are probably wondering where I am.” she spoke up, taking a deep breath in disappointment that she had to leave him and they would probably be on the same routine tomorrow at school. Flirting nonstop but still never ending up making a move at the end of the day.

Even Ned seems to notice how much both of them want it to happen and he dares himself to say something to force them to finally fulfill each other’s dream.

“Yeah, you should.” Peter agreed again as Y/N began to walk inches and inches away from him.

“Goodnight.” they wished at the same time.

He watched her turn her back and walk to her door. “Peter,” she called before pacing in his direction again.

“Mhm?” he hummed, eyebrows lifting up in curiosity.

I hope I don't regret this. Y/N thought.

She tilted his chin down to level precisely with her lips and she pressed as gentle as she could be. His pupils dilating when she did so.

When she felt him lean in the butterflies in her stomach evaporated and melted into mush.

She pulled back and they both stood, breathless and shocked. Y/N pecked Peter’s cheek. “Goodnight, Peter.” she said again, skipping back to her door and closing it behind her.

As Peter turned to walk to his home, a grin spread from ear to ear, he replayed the moment in his head like a movie.

I wore goth lolita in the dream and the “home” she was in was in New York, inside a Victorian style house. I almost wrote a book based off it, since it ended up that I had to walk through a mystic door in an alley. It’s a crazy ass dream, and I did write a story called “The Door” in high school.
