Digimon Adventure Shipping Masterpost - Part 1

Digimon is the first fandom I ever got into where I started actively shipping characters, and Digimon is a treasure trove for multi-shippers since it features a large group of friends being forced together for long periods of time and being emotionally vulnerable while fighting for their lives and relying on one another.

Now for this reason, I maintain that there’s a good basis for nearly every possible ship out there and I’ll be talking about most of them within the Adventure continuity. Just giving the lowdown about them, fairly listing their pros and cons, and explaining why someone might like them while others might not. Afterwards giving my personal thoughts on each.

Now a few ground rules before we start. First off I’m only covering the adventure seasons and movies, minus the reboot and the newest anniversary film as I haven’t seen those yet. Secondly I’ll only be covering the main human characters of those films/seasons. Last off, I won't be covering crack and OT3s, just because this list is too damn long as it is. Characters must have interacted on screen before, be no more than five years apart, and this probably can go without saying, but they can’t be related to each other.

Oh, and any antis starting shit will be blocked!

So without further ado, LET THE SHIPPING BEGIN

Tai x Matt (Taito)

Pros: If you like rivals to lovers, boy do I have a ship for you. Taito is like the typifier of this trope. They constantly fight, but are best friends, and when they do argue it’s usually over deeper things than just their rivalry/jealousy. Once the fighting is over, they tend to become stronger people with a firmmer relationship. They also hold a lot of respect for each other that only grows as they get older. While not a ‘canon’ ship, (most of these aren’t) there’s a lot of gay subtext between them, especially towards the end of Tri. Now how much of that is the writers throwing the fans a bone and how much of it is just anime being anime, who knows.

Cons: If you’re not a fan of the rivals to lovers trope than this ship may not be for you. You may prefer them as friends only, and hey that’s valid since they indeed are friends first and foremost. Also if you’re looking for a more officially canon gay ship/rep you may be disappointed with how they are portrayed.

Personal Ranking (6/10) I’m one of those people who doesn’t typically like ‘rivals to lovers’. Just not my thing. However I’ve warmed to this ship over the years due to fanworks and the fact that Tri is indeed very, very gay.

Tai x Sora (Taiora)

Pros: I don't know if this is the most popular pairing in the show, but it’s high up there. All throughout the first season and the second movie these two were heavily hinted at. Especially in the dubs. Sadly it came to nothing, but for a lot of people this was the first thing they shipped in the fandom. But beyond just the hints, these two have that ‘childhood best friends to lovers’ dynamic that resonates with a lot of people. They’ve known each other the longest out of the group and were friends before getting stuck in the digital world. Now add in how they they compliment each other so well, Sora’s level headedness getting through to Tai stubbornness, Tai’s optimism and can do attitude encouraging the more doubt ridden Sora, and their shared interests in sports and kicking butt, and you can see how this pairing took off.

Cons: The writers tried their damndest to sink this ship in season two by pairing off Sora with Matt. Much to everyone’s frustration. Even Sorato fans agree that it was handled poorly. Since then, the writers of the fourth film and Tri have tried to keep things more open ended between the three of them, but for some it’s not enough and the bad writing can indeed kill this ship. There’s also the usual reasons of simply not gelling with their dynamic or preferring them with other characters. Some may even like the unusual subversion of the lead guy not getting the girl but remaining good friends.

Paronal Ranking (8/10) - Count me with those that first shipped them in season one when it first aired. That said, they were never my absolute favorites so season two’s reveal didn't hurt me as much as it did for some others. It’s still my preferred ship for the two of them, but I’m flexible and open to others.

Tai x Izzy (Taishirou)

Pros: While not as popular as the previous ships, Taishirou is really cute. Izzy and Tai interact with each other a lot. In fact Tai might be the character Izzy is on screen with the most besides his digimon. They’re very much a comedy duo, but with enough underlining heart to heart moments to sell the idea that they have a working basis for something deeper. Also Izzy isn’t afraid to call Tai out on his bullshit, which is good, but it’s not like Tai ever actually listens.

Cons: They are primarily a comedy team. Tai is very much a foil for Izzy’s more serious nature, but play for laughs rather than angst like it is with Taito. If that doesn’t jive with you then this ship isn’t going to appeal to you as much as some others.

Personal Ranking (7/10) - I more drawn to this dynamic then say the aggressive sexual tension of Taito, so this was always going to rank higher than that one for me.

Tai x Mimi (Michi)

Pros: Mimi is one of the more popular characters to ship with. She gets paired with nearly everyone in the group routinely. Now this isn’t the most popular ship featuring her, but it has its share of hardcore supporters. I think it’s cause both she and Tai are the most outgoing and optimistic of the group. So it’s a case of two very upbeat people pumping each other up while also being forward enough to call out each others bull.

Cons: If you prefer Mimi with someone else this is obviously not going to appeal to you. There’s also the issue of her not being with the main group in season two and therefore doesn’t have as strong a relationship with the others as she should.

Personal Ranking (7/10) - I really like just about all of the Mimi ships and this is no exception.

Tai x Joe (Taijyou)

Pros: If Mimi is over-shipped then Joe is under-shipped. All the Joe ships are underrated, imho. Heck Joe himself is underrated. He plays off most of the characters really well, including Tai. If you like ‘opposites attract’ then you can’t get more opposite than Joe and Tai and they’re really entertaining for it. Plus there also those more serious moments to suggest that they are good friends and have that basis to build off of.

Cons: They’re again a comedy duo, and that might not be your thing. More than that though, they have the same arc. They’re opposites but they grow and develop in much the same way. As such, they don’t team up as much as say Tai and Izzy do.

Personal Ranking (6/10) - I really like Joe, he’s one of my favs, but this isn’t the best ship with him. Though it still can be cute on occasion.

Tai x T.K. (Taikeru)

Pros: This pairing only works if we’re talking about season two or later, and that is where they have less interaction. But I won’t act like there’s zero basis here. They were stuck together in S1 same as all the others and did have lots of friendly interactions there, they do team up now and then in 02, and they are there with the rest of the group in Tri. As far as dynamics go, both older Tai and older T.K. are very chill and laid back people. They’re more level headed, but always up for fun when they aren’t busy saving the world, so it’s easy see them getting along well with one another. There’s also the unrequited crush route if you wanna go that way with T.K.

Cons: There is an age gap here. Now it doesn’t matter as much in later seasons or post series, but it can be enough to put people off initially. Especially since it’s the time period when that age gap would actually get in the way is also when they have most of their interactions with one another. I call this a good for fanfiction but not so good for AMVs pairing.

Personal Ranking (4/10) - Yeah not enough of them interacting when they’re both older to really sell this one for me. I’ve read the occasional fanfic with them, but I don't actively ship it myself.

Tai x Davis (Taisuke)

Pros: Davis and Tai are two peas in a pod. In fact they are so alike that the series comments on this several times and Tai even appoints him as the new leader. As such they get to bond over a lot of things on the occasions they do interact. Also, while Davis is the same age as T.K., he and Tai only ever interact in season 02 when they’re both already young teens. So things are a little less awkward on that front. There’s also the unrequited crush route, or post series fanfic, as always.

Cons: They only ever interact in 02 where Tai’s role is greatly reduced, so limited screen time. Hopefully the upcoming anniversary movie will give us some more interaction between all of the 02 gang and the original group, regardless of shipping. There’s also the fact that age gap will be a hurdle for some people no matter what point in their timeline you have them hook up. Three or four years don’t matter when their both adults in their twenties, but it can make a difference in high school, so context is key with a ship like this. It helps that the show covers several years and all the characters age, but it’s up to you if that’s enough or not. Then there’s people who just don’t like their dynamic and think they’re too similar to each other.

Personal Ranking (5/10) I like it more than Taikeru, if only because Davis is my favorite character in 02 and like the rest of the new digidestined, he really doesn’t get enough love from the fandom. That said it’s still not that great of ship for all of the previously stated cons. I’ll give the occasion fan fiction or AMV a shot, but it’s all about context and how it’s presented.

Tai x Yolie (Taiyako)

Pros: She is the oldest of the 02 gang, and like Davis she only ever interacts with Tai in S2, so it’s a little less awkward to ship them than some. Also she’s really assertive and outgoing and not one to put up with bull from anybody; so she she can balance out Tai’s impulsiveness in theory. Likewise he can calm her down enough to think, if we’re talking post Tri.

Cons: They barely interact even in 02. They’re together in group scenes and there’s the potential they’ve interacted off screen, but there’s no ‘one on one’ screen time for them. Because of that, plus the small age gap between them, no one really ships these two. They’re the ultimate rare pair, and once again I hope the new movie will provide some genuine interaction between the 02 gang and the original group. Cause at the moment, dynamic wise, they’re kind of just a watered down Michi.

Personal Ranking (4/10) - Yeah I’d just sooner just read about Michi, but the rarity of them does pique my interest just a little bit. I’m now genuinely curious how they would play out post Tri.

Tai x Cody (Taiori)

Pros: Does anyone ship this? Ok, well in the interest of fairness, I did say the cut off was five years and that they had to interact at some point and they do fit the bill, so... Here I go. If you wanted to, you could do a post series route with these two. One is a lawyer for digimon rights and the other is an UN ambassador for the Digital World, so they would work together often. So there’s some grounds there for a childhood friends become co-workers to lovers plot. You can also pull a one sided school boy crush if you go for a pre-Tri route instead.

Cons: Like with Yolie, Tai only interacts with Cody in group settings during 02 and never one on one. There’s the potential that they hung out more off screen, but unlike Yolie, the age gap between them is wide enough that that seems improbable. Maybe, The Last Evolution will give us something more to go off with, just for their friendship sake if nothing else. After all these two will be working closely together someday according to the epilogue.

Personal Ranking (2/10) There’s just not enough there. I might be interested in that future based story I pitched, but even then it’s a stretch.

Tai x Ken (Kenchi)

Pros: Ken is unique in the fact that he’s a former villain, and in Tri it seemed as if he had reverted back to his old ways. This ultimately proved not to be the case, but since Tai is the main hero of Tri, you had the basis for a hero/villain ship for a while.

Cons: Like with all of the 02 cast, Tai doesn’t interact with Ken much. They appear in group scenes during 02 and that’s it. Even in Tri, it turns out that wasn’t the real Ken all along. Though his VA there is going to be his VA in final movie, which is cool I guess. There’s better ships with theses two, and if you want a villian/hero thing there’s more options for Ken. Plus there’s the awkward age gap, tho it’s no worse then than say Taisuke. Also Ken does have a canon partner in Yolie, if canon matters to you.

Personal Ranking (3/10) Not enough one on one scenes to get a feel for their dynamic imo.

Tai x Jun (Taijun)

Pros: What do you mean Jun isn’t a main character? Yeah, I don’t care. She should have been given a bigger role in 02, but that’s a rant for another time. The appeal of Taijun is a pairing of the spares essentially. He’s Sora’s ex, and she’s Matt’s ex. (well sort of) But that leaves you with a tantalizing ‘let's pretend hook up to make our exes jealous only to fall in love for real’ plot. There’s other routes you can go with obviously, but that one in particular makes the pairing more unique than other ships.

Cons: Obviously if you don't like Jun as a character, then your not going to like this ship. She’s pretty decisive within fandom.

Personal Ranking (7/10) - Yeah, I really, really like Jun y’all. Plus anything thing that sees her treated better than how Matt did in 02 is a win in my book.

Tai x Catherine ( Taicat )

Pros: It’s cannon that Tai has a crush on her and her openly flirts with her. He also has an amusing rivalry with TK for her affections. It’s harmless cute fluff and interferes with the love triangle

Cons: Catherine is a pretty bland character. She’s pretty and French and that’s all there is to remember of her.

Personal Ranking (3/10) I suppose there’s a certain appeal to having a semi-cannon ship that is so barely explored that you could do anything you wanted with it and it wouldn’t be out of character, but beyond that I can’t see anything else to recommend it.

Tai x Meiko (Meichi)

Pros: They have some cute moments together in Tri, though they are subtle. It does feel at times like the writers introduced her character as a means of resolving the Tai/Sora/Matt love triangle. Though they never follow through with that completely. In terms of the dynamics Meiko is a complete woobie. A ‘moe’ is what I believe to be the term in Japanese. Shy, quite, cute, and in need of protection. So you get plenty of instances of Tai being the big hero and saving her. Tai himself is also much more subdued in Tri and therefore less impulsive and reckless, so he’s very considerate of Meiko’s emotional needs, much than he would have been had they met earlier. In a way she just shows off how much he has grown as a character. So basically lots of hurt/comfort angst going on.

Cons: If you’re not a fan of Meiko, then you wouldn’t be a fan of this ship. She’s not as well developed as the rest of the cast due to only appearing in Tri, and she relies more heavily on her archetype to carry her interactions with the mains. So how much you’re predisposed to that archetype factors heavily in shipping her with anyone.

Personal Ranking (5/10) I’m lukewarm to Meiko as a character. Her interactions with Tai can be cute, but she just doesn’t grab my interests the same as Jun does.

Matt x Sora (Sorato)

I just realized that this very official screenshot from the fifth movie, has a poster advertising a band with the words ‘fucking night’ on it. This is suppose to be a kids show. Lol. Never change Japan.

Pros: The ship is about as close to canon as you can get. They’re confirmed dating in season two and it’s movie, and there are hints that they wound up together in the epilogue. Also there is a basis for the relationship given their interactions in the first season and Tri. They communicate well and trust each other. Sora comes to rely on Matt in ways she just doesn’t with Tai. He’s an outlet for her to let her guard down and share things, while she helps him come out of his shell sometimes.

Cons: The writing for them in 02 wasn’t good. They got together with zero build up and it came across as very forced. Since then, both in the fifth movie and in Tri, the writers have been pushing a subtle love triangle between them and Tai. Leaving things more open ended to appease the fans who were angry over how Taiora ended. Also, dynamic wise, they can be kind of boring on their own. Without Tai there, there’s no drama between them, and that can be a pro or a con depending on your tastes.

Personal Ranking (6/10) It’s not a bad ship, but the writing in 02 lets it down and, I still prefer Taiora over all.

Matt x Izzy (Yamashirou)

Pros: It’s the ‘cool dude’ who tries way to hard to be edgy being paired with the nerd who sees through his bullshit, but they’re both level headed enough to work together if need be, and they do indeed work together as a team quite well.

Cons: Izzy and Matt don't interact one on one often. Usually when they do, Izzy is sandwiched between Matt and Tai as they work on some problem or other. People who do even ship it, often just go all the way and make it an OT3 with Matt/Izzy/Tai.

Personal Ranking (5/10) There’s a basis for something there if you want to explore it, but both characters have better options.

Matt x Mimi (Mimato)

Pros: Well for one, it’s Mimi. She’s one of the few people who can get under Matt’s aloof exterior. It’s also a case of hyperactive girl paired with quite and closed off guy, if you like that dynamic.

Cons: It has all the same cons as Michi. Mimi is absent in 02, she and Matt usually interact within a group setting, and there’s more popular pairings out there for both of them. So if you ship either one with someone else, you may not be inclined to ship this.

Personal Ranking (7/10) I like Mimi, so I’ll always like this pairing to some degree, but it’s about the same level as Michi for me.

Matt x Joe (Jyouato)

Pros: If Izzy is Tai’s foil, than Joe is Matt’s foil. They get a lot of one on one scenes and come to depend on one another more so than then they do with most of the group. Plus it’s the geeky nerd paired with the cool kid. Joe isn’t confident but he holds a secret inner strength. While Matt appears calm on the surface but has a lot of issues underneath. So if you like ‘opposites attract’ then this could be for you.

Cons: It’s a comedy duo, just like with Tai and Izzy. Though they do have their more serious moments and deeper conversations. Also Joe is pretty decisive in fandom. If you’re not a fan of his you’ll probably want to ship Matt with someone else. Or you can make the argument that Matt is too mean to Joe at times, though he always apologizes for it and tries not do it again.

Personal Ranking (7/10) They’re two of my favorite characters in Digimon. While this isn’t my favorite ship for them, I’m all down for indulging myself every once in a while.

Matt x Kari (Yamakari)

Pros: The few people who ship this, do so because of the above scene where Matt has to protect her from Myotismon. Also if Taikeru exists, than it’s only fair if it’s counterpart does as well. You can do the same for this as you can do for that and either go a post season one ruote, or a one sided school girl crush.

Cons: Outside of that one previously mentioned interaction, Matt and Kari get very little one on one screen time. Especially in 02 and Tri, where the age gap wouldn’t matter anymore.

Personal Ranking (3/10) I rank this lower than Taikeru because there’s even less to go off of and I struggle to see how they’re supposed to work together.

Matt x Davis (Yamasuke)

Pros: Same as with Taisuke, Matt is something of a mentor figure who grows to be a friend. And if you disliked Taisuke cause you found Davis and Tai to be too similar, then Matt has that shifting dynamic but with a different personality.

Cons: It also has all the same cons as Taisuke tho. They don’t interact outside of 02, and there’s a bit of an age gap. So make of that what you will.

Personal Ranking (4/10) I do genuinely like Davis and I think he gets along well with most people, but this feels too much like a watered down Taito to really care about it.

Matt x Yolei (Yamayako)

Pros: Yolei does mention in 02, that she helps out Matt and his band sometimes with their audio equipment. Therefore we know for sure that they hang out together as friends even when not on screen. Dynamic wise, its a case of nerdy girl gets the cool guy.

Cons: Near zero on screen interaction save for group scenes in 02, a small age gap,(tho smaller than most 02/Adventure ships), and its similarities to Mimato, is enough to put people off the ship.

Personal Ranking (5/10) I like the ‘nerdy girl gets the cool guy’ trope, but beyond that there’s not much to them.

Matt x Cody (Imato)

Pros: In fairness this about as plausible/implausible as Taiori, I guess. If you like a post series story about two hot dads hooking up or something, then this might appeal to you. Who knows.

Cons: Unlike, Taiori, Cody and Matt don’t even have that coworker angle going for them. Matt’s a fucking astronaut! Which is stupid, but it is what it is. I can’t see any reason why they would wind up together outside of them being in the same social group. Cody is TK’s best friend, and he might hang out with Matt that way, but it’s a long shot. Also the age gap is right on the cut off, so that limits their relationship to only being post Tri.

Parsonal Ranking (1/10) I don’t know why anyone would ship this, and I honestly don't think anybody does. If someone out there does, I’ll give it a look out of sheer curiosity but that’s it.

Matt x Ken (Kenato)

Pros: It’s the two broody boys together. That’s it. They’re both sad and cute, with some anger issues that they’re both trying to work past. So on that point they can connect. So basically soft hurt/comfort fics galore. They also get a teamup episode in 02, so we see them interact one on one.

Cons: They’re a bit too similar dynamic wise. If you don't like both of your characters in a ship to be moody and angst ridden then this might not work for you. They also don’t interact much outside of their one team up episode, and like with Yamasuke there is an age gap.

Parsonal Ranking (4/10) Count me in the ‘too much broodiness for me’ camp.

Matt x Jun (Junato)

Pros: It’s Jun. Also she clearly likes Matt in 02, and he seemingly likes her back their first episode together. They free up Tai and Sora to be together. Oh and if you like the hyperactive optimistic girl with broody cool guy, then this has you cover. If you also a fan of the ‘assertive girl chases after her hopeless crush’ trope, like with Sonic/Amy, Kermit/Miss Piggy, or Bugs/Lola. This also covers that.

Cons: If you don’t like that trope, or dislike Jun altogether then this of course isn’t going to appeal to you. There’s also the added problem of Matt suddenly acting like a douche to her for no reason after their first episode together. It’s like the writers set them up, but then when ‘oh shit!’ when they decided to go with Sorato at the last minute and had to work to shut this pairing down. It’s dumb, and makes both of the characters look bad.

Personal Ranking (7/10) I like it more for what it could have been, rather than for what it became.

Matt x Meiko (Meimato)

Pros: I swear the Tri writers tried to throw in ship folder for Meiko with all of the OG cast. As if she was the potential solution to all of the love triangles in the show or something. Just like with Meichi, this ship is all about the hero protecting the woobie.

Cons: Once again, if you like this ship it’s going to come down to how much you like Meiko as a character and the archetype she represents.

Personal Ranking (5/10) Same score as Meichi for the same reasons.

11 Writer Tag Game

Thank you for the tag @ill-write-when-im-dead

Do you prefer writing things chronologically or just whatever scene you want in that moment? I can only write chronologically because I do not use outlines.

Favorite font and why? Liberation Serif. It’s the automatic font in libre office.

How long do you usually make your chapters? I don’t think of my stories in chapters until I’m posting it somewhere...

Does outside noise distract you from writing? Not really? Unless someone’s trying to talk to me

Can you explain an abandoned WIP? I don’t like abandoning wips, I always intend to go back but the first version of the fic I’m writing now was an original story about a man who was in a car crash and went into a coma and was trying to wake up by solving the crime of what happened to his missing wife through visions of his life in a dream state.

Quality or quantity in your first draft? why not both? I don’t edit while i write but I also want it to be good enough that I can go and read it again

Who is your favorite antagonist in your writing? Probably Yoli, though I wouldn’t really say he’s an Antagonist. He’s just a screaming frog of a henchmen who can do nothing right.

What is your least favorite setting you’ve ever had the pleasure of describing? Probably the World of White? It’s just a lake that goes on forever and there’s nothing but white fog everywhere.

When do you write? all the time? too often? I’m currently taking a little break after burning myself out

Where does your main WIP take place? It takes place in a shared lucid dream with a surreal and ever changing environment!

Why do you think your current WIP is important? Fact is? It’s not! But it’s a lot of fun and it’s the kind of story that I love! I have tried writing smething similar 5 times now, but this time I’m going to reach the end!

Sempre: „Byla to láska na první řádek…“

Už příští měsíc vychází Sempre, gangsterská romance, krásná kniha, za kterou jsem bojovala i já, aby se dostala do edičního plánu. A to především proto, že mi v těch módních vlnách young adult, v těch víceméně stejných příbězích přišla překvapivě originální.

Každopádně největší zásluhy patří Týně a Hance, které nás na knihu upozornily a pak se taky postaraly o překlad. V této chvíli určitě není v této zemi člověka, co by o Sempre věděl víc než ony, takže jsem jim položila pár otázek. Ať jste taky v obraze :-)

Pro ty, co vůbec nevědí, o co jde, tady zkrácená anotace:

Sedmnáctiletá Haven Antonelli nikdy nepoznala svobodu, od narození byla v podstatě něčí majetek a podle toho se s ní i zacházelo. Poté, co si ji koupí doktor Vincent DeMarco, se její postavení podstatně zlepší – pořád není svobodná, ale dostane se do mnohem lepšího prostředí. A pak ji taky nečekaně potkává láska. Haven a Carmine, doktorův syn, musí brzy přehodnotit všechno, čemu doposud věřili. Jenomže uniknout okolnímu nebezpečnému světu, jemuž vládnou moc a peníze, se zdá ne těžké, ale přímo nemožné. Ve světě mafie jsou zrada a násilí všední součástí života, nic není zadarmo a slovo navěky – sempre dostává trpkou příchuť... Jak jste se dostaly k Sempre? Kde vám tato kniha poprvé padla do oka? Samotnému Sempre předchází velmi dlouhá historie a musíme se v ní vrátit až do září roku 2012, kdy jsme s Hankou na našem soukromém fóru pro přátele zveřejnily překlad první kapitoly v té době jedné z pěti nejpopulárnějších Twilight fanfiction. Tehdy už jsme měly za sebou velký překlad jiné povídky a myslely jsme si, že jinou srdcovku už nenajdeme, ale opak byl pravdou. Byla to láska, jak se říká, na první řádek, a než jsme se dostaly s překladem fanfiction na konec, autorka příběh předělala do podoby dnešní dvoudílné série Sempre. Neváhaly jsme ani minutu za tu knížku bojovat, oslovovaly jsme různá nakladatelství, prosily přátele o doporučení, a i když to trvalo téměř přesně na den tři roky, než skutečně spatřila světlo světa, stálo to za to. První díl vychází v Yoli už v září!

Jak se vám to překládalo? Nějaké výzvy, překladatelské oříšky, chvíle zoufalství, chvíle radosti? Knížka se nám překládala lehce, protože když máte něco opravdu rádi, dělá se vám to snadno a navíc většinu děje prvního dílu už jsme měly přeloženou z dřívějška, takže jsme věděly, co nás čeká, a ta největší úskalí jsme vlastně už dávno vyřešily. Knihu jsme sice překládaly celou znova, ale pokud jsme si něco nepamatovaly nebo si nebyly jisté, nakoukly jsme do své vlastní předchozí práce. Výzvou byla určitě přemíra sprostých slov hlavního hrdiny, která se vyskytuje v originále a s jejichž korekcí nám potom si myslím velmi citlivě pomohla korektorka. A oříškem byl možná smysl pro humor jedné z postav, založený na slovních hříčkách, které se do češtiny přeložit ani nedají. Tam jsme musely hledat vtipy podobného obsahu v češtině a někdy jsme se docela zapotily. Co se týče emocí, tak ty jsme s hlavními hrdiny samozřejmě prožívaly, nejednou byste nás mohli zaslechnout, jak nadáváme nebo se smějeme. Ale naše největší radost nastane asi v momentě, kdy budeme držet v ruce skutečnou papírovou knížku, protože to bude znamenat, že se nám splnil sen.

Víte něco o autorce? Nepsaly jste jí? Já bych asi byla v pokušení pochlubit se jí, kdyby díky mně měla být její kniha přeložena do češtiny! Musíme se přiznat, že se snažíme být v kontaktu se všemi autory, jejichž knihy překládáme, a J.M. Darhoverová není výjimkou. Samozřejmě, že jsme jí psaly. Nejdřív kvůli kontaktu na jejího agenta z nakladatelství, pak občas v průběhu prací a teď se těšíme, až jí konečně budeme moci napsat, že knížka je skutečně na světě a poslat jí jeden výtisk. Pokud by čtenáři rádi věděli něco víc, tak J.M. je normální máma rodiny, která se v současné době věnuje už jenom psaní a také se velmi angažuje v otázkách moderního otroctví a vykořisťování lidí. V současné době už má na svém kontě 10 knih a najdeme mezi nimi kromě Young Adult taky lehce erotickou New Adult sérii nebo paranormální romance.

Kdyby Sempre mělo být zfilmováno, koho byste si představovaly jako Haven a Carmina? Tak to je pro nás těžká otázka, protože my s příběhem žijeme ještě od dob fanfiction, takže tam přirozeně vidíme původní hrdiny, ale vzniklo mnoho krásných knižních trailerů, z nichž přikládáme odkaz na ten podle našeho názoru nejhezčí. Četly jste poslední dobou ještě nějakou knihu, která by vás uchvátila podobně jako Sempre? Dejte nějaký knižní tip :-) Kristýna: Tak za sebe musím říci, že v poslední době čtu jenom anglické originály a to právě ve vodách svého zájmu, což je YA nebo romance. Rozhodně bych doporučila právě od J.M. první díl ze série Forbidden, která se odehrává v prostředí New Yorské mafie a v jednu chvíli se krásně prolne se Sempre. Jinak jsem v poslední době přečetla trilogii Labyrint a Papírová města. Chystám se na Jako zabít ptáčka, protože před pár týdny vyšlo v Americe pokračování, které způsobilo nemalé pozdvižení, tak se do toho konečně musím taky pustit.

Hanka: Máme s Týnou v ledasčem podobný literární vkus, takže Labyrint a téměř vše od Johna Greena taky - naposledy ta Papírová města. Ale taky miluju Neila Gaimana, Terryho Prachetta i Orsona Scotta Carda, od nich cokoliv. A na nočním stolku na mě čeká v nejbližší době série Mycelium Vilmy Kadlečkové a moc se na ni těším.

Týno, nemáš ty náhodou tetování? Všimla jsem si posledně… Sempre na zápěstí? Je možné, že by to bylo opravdické? Náhodou skutečně mám a je opravdické, hele :-) A mimochodem, ten úžasný dort nám upekla kamarádka k narozeninám.

Sempre znamená v italštině navěky, a pro mě to slovo představuje takový životní milník, který si chci navěky pamatovat. Není to samozřejmě jenom o názvu knížky, ale o věcech, které tato knížka odstartovala. Mezi všemi třeba to, že mě teď překládání knih živí.

When Izuku was very young his mother died and his father took him away to a home with no doors or windows. But a courtyard and anything he could ever want while he's made to dress up. Everything except a chance to be a hero. So he finally asked his father at the age of twelve when seemed there was no end to this isolation. Fully expecting to be rejected but instead his father accepts his desire to go to school under three conditions. 1. Follow his training regime. 2. Report everything to him. 3. Stay out of trouble. That shouldn't be too hard... Right?

Alternate Universe: Silent Hill is real and AFO gets sucked into it.

Characters: All for One, Mentioned Yoichi

Summary: After All for One gets a letter from his brother who has been dead for several years he seeks him out. In that strange town they had only been too once before Yoichi finally allowed his illness to take him. Though with a man as many sins as his, he's about to enter his own personal hell.

“I’m here for you Hisashi. I’m real…” Hisashi wonders if this truly was as real as he claims in this quiet hell of a town.

All For One, the most vicious man in the world. A symbol of evil who inflicted fear into the hearts of many. A legend, the boogieman of the very world itself. He prided himself in no one ever knowing his identity or his past.

Which is what making this situation even more baffling to him. Following the trail to a very specific town, Silent Hill, known for being quint but nothing else. Yet this is where the letter has led him back to the United States. Even if it seemed seemed the rest of the journey was on foot.

“What kind of game are you playing Yoichi,” he mutters more to himself in the car. Opening the glove compartment to pull out the letter. The one that had led him to this peculiar town in search for the brother that has been gone for so long. Which is why he was alone, no one can see this but him as his eyes scans the letter.

Long ago you took me to this town that seemed to linger in my dreams, Silent Hill. You said it wasn’t anything special just a passing by town in the middle of your grandeur trip. To me though there was something more and I asked if we would ever return. You said you would when you could.

You never did. But I’m there now in that town waiting for you to come to complete that little promise. Waiting for you at a ‘special place’, big brother, don’t forget.

It felt like some twisted joke. That trip had been so long ago, just something between them in his attempt to take their mind off things. He had half a mind to burn the letter as must be some prank. To abandon it and continue with his life.

As Yoichi had long since died to his very illness so many years ago.

“So why am I here looking for him?” Hisashi speaks only bitterly as he wasn’t All for One at this moment. This was Hisashi, the man behind the monster still seeking something despite the insanity.

“And what special place. Since when was he so cryptic? There were tons of places he seemed to enjoy in that small town from the park to the streets, and the hotel excited at how nice everything was,” he speaks like this is some annoyance. Though it doesn’t stop him despite the fact he should know better he still leaves his car parked. Looking off into the forest in the direction of that town.

It was like a siren song calling to him that he can’t ignore. Beckoning him toward the unknown that had once only been a blip in their life. Moving to the stone wall rails on the side of the road he stares toward that town.

“Maybe he was always alive and only chose now to contact me…” his voice trails as he grabs a map feeling something heavy on his mind that he tries to ignore. The hair on the back of his neck seemed to stand on end as the air itself seems to ice over.

As he walks toward that town. Able to feel something inside him seeming to urge him on despite himself. A longing he ignored for sanity sake.

“I hope he’s still waiting for me.”

Cruel Father

Summary:

Authors Note:

Welcome to the fanfic. Where we come to a home with a son with curiosity, a father with dark secrets, and a home with a deep hatred for its inhabitants. I’m Yoly your author and this story is very much based on Mad Father the RPG maker horror game. Though it isn’t required for you to enjoy this experience and hope you do enjoy my own unique interpretation of the story. Depending on how this is received both here and on AO3 I might consider a multi chapter series~

It wasn’t difficult for Izuku to pretend he didn’t notice anything wrong at home. As whenever he left the safety of his home he always ran into trouble. Being seen as the odd child unable to connect with others and having a family that seemed so distant from everyone. His father tended to find him and always led him back home, it was likely why he gave him his pet rabbit U. An attempt to keep him home so wouldn't wander off to try and make friends.

Soft white fur and bright red eyes looked up at him as Izuku stroked the small things head trying to recall the memories of his mother. Her sudden death still rattled him as she had been perfectly fine one moment then the next they were holding her funeral. Father didn’t even cry despite how much he had loved her, if anything it was as if a piece of him died with her. Only able to stare as they lowered her body into the dirt.

Now their home was even lonelier than before.

“I wished at least dad spent time with me,” he muttered as despite his dad being the one to insist he stayed home now he barely saw anyone. Especially with mom passing, he picks up the rabbit and goes to place the small thing in its bed. Watching as it goes and flops over happily messing with the blankets until it is tucked away underneath it. It was cute and helped to bring a smile to Izuku’s face as he guessed there was nothing else to do but sleep as it was getting late anyway.

There was one thing he needed to do before that. As he puts on his indoor shoes he leaves the room to walk toward his fathers office. They had already eaten dinner but he hasn’t seen the man since so needed to at least say his good nights. His footsteps echoed in the hall as he goes down the stairs wishing this mansion was a bit smaller. When he was small he used to adore how big it was playing pretend he was an adventurer exploring a castle.

Now it feels like he was in an abandoned ruin, paintings of his family and the uncle he has never seen hanging on the wall. Seeming to be staring at him as he walked down to the basement where his father lived. As if they were judging him for remaining in this house after his own mothers passing. He pressed on ignoring the daggers of the paintings as he arrived at his destination.

“Dad?” He knocked on the door knowing he was being a bit informal but he was tired. He didn’t want to act like a proper young man, he needed his dad. “You have been in there all day. I’m sure you can spare at least a minute.”

There is the sound of rustling in the office and he can see the light peeking from underneath the door. So there was no way his dad could pretend that he had already gone to bed at this time so Izuku waited patiently. His body shivers at the cold sensation of what seemed like a soft wind and he turns his head to the side. But there wasn’t really anything, guessing it was just nerves.

Suddenly the door opens and his eyes look up to see his father. There were heavy bags under his eyes and his hair seemed to have grown out a bit from lack of care. He hasn’t been taking care of himself ever since mother passed away. He was almost resembling the portraits of Izuku’s uncle, his father’s twin brother, with how he was seeming to be losing weight as well. He guessed it shouldn’t be a surprise with twins.

“You don’t have to visit me every night,” the man noted. But they both knew if Izuku didn’t then he would end up getting a visit in the night. His father may forget but it was clear that he did not wish to actually be alone at all. Laying a heavy burden on his son to keep track of his father whose mental state seemed to be on a decline.

“I'd rather you not wake me up so it's better this way,” Izuku noted. Trying to ignore the strong scent of copper the other had. He isn’t sure why his father smelled of metal or copper when he had once been the man that cared a lot about appearance. Yet not even his suits survive, seeming to have become disheveled and there weren’t as many butlers and maids to help clean things.

“Haha, you aren’t supposed to wake up when I visit. I guess I’m not as discreet as I think I am,” his father points out and Izuku knows. Yet whenever his father does come to visit there is this eerie feeling that always wakes him up. As if something was very wrong and that if doesn’t wake up then he might never wake up again. A strange thought as he knows his father would never harm him, he loves him.

“You really aren’t. So it is best that I come to say good night, what are you doing today?” Izuku questions as tries to look around his father. The man blocks his vision very quickly while forcing a smile.

“No looking. I’m still working on some things. Still I appreciate your visit,” he assures before reaching out to ruffle Izuku’s head. Eliciting a small grunt from the small boy as he has to pull away from him. Those eyes narrowed annoyed at his dad’s evasiveness before letting out a sigh, guessing this is as good as it gets.

“I’m not a little kid you know,” Izuku protested but understood that this is at least enough to satisfy his dad. Able to see some light in the man’s eyes meant he won’t bother him tonight. His father chuckles as he retreats his hands seeming content with this exchange.

“That is the sad part isn’t it? I wish you could be a little kid just a bit longer,” the man mused with a somber smile. “As adults always try to leave the nest.”

Izuku isn’t too sure what his father was thinking but he already had a retort, “I’m not going anywhere so stop thinking that. You’re making yourself upset.”

It didn’t seem like his father believed him but he did seem to smile a bit more. It was more than enough as they went to say their good nights. Izuku watches as the doors shut and he begins to walk away. His heart slowly began to pick up as he was left in the empty hallway, then he heard a scream from that office that wasn’t his father.

…And he ran pretending he didn’t hear a thing.

Summary:

Have you ever wanted to become a cult leader? Do you know the freedom it entails and the atrocities you can commit? All for One learns what his life is truly meant for.

"Don't you want devoted followers?"

A man much older than him asked with a delighted smile on his face as stared at this white-haired mutant. Void dead eyes stared back as those words rang loudly in his ear at the one he had defeated. There was a fanatical look, this wasn't the first time he has seen him.

Just another sucker Hisashi scrapped money off of by peddling him some random power. An odd sort, no one special or even worth knowing. Yet it seemed he had tracked him down again.

"The hell are you talking about?" He scoffs. He didn't have time for this his little brother had run another fever for some reason. To the point that he couldn't move so only came out to get more money. The man smiled widely because in a sense he did give him attention. Likely the rambling of some nutcase.

"You've been blessed! The marks on your hands are a sign you are a messiah, a symbol of humanity's next step in evolution." The man jeered, and the young man scoffed. Delusional, all his father ever saw his kids as a demon and burden. Leaving them with a mother who couldn't handle it alone anymore.

Some Messiah.

His fingers instinctively clenches over the palm of his hand never one to enjoy keeping them open.

"Oh, you're an insane person like my religious father," Hisashi jeers with amusement finding these religious types just so funny. Spilling platitudes and nonsense with no value, "Why do I need a bunch of dead-weight strangers?"

The man seemed surprised at the rejection. Did he assume that because was doing some shady underground power exchange, he was that desperate? He needs extra money as his business job was a shit hole that still hasn't given him that raised his promise. Yoichi's medical aide isn't cheap considering he needs outside 'help'.

"You still aren't awakened yet fully," the strange man noted softly. Hisashi's eyes narrowed wondering if should get rid of him since he isn't supposed to remeet those he works with. His hand cracks with light electricity as a warning knowing the power he gave this idiot was weak.

Only to be startled by the man clapping his hands in delight, "I can help you! People would leave their families for you! Give you money or even their body I can already see it now. This very world is hell itself and you will bring it order even if it is by cruelty! The moment you touched me it gave me this revelation! Everyone needs to know your brilliance!"

Hisashi steps back as this psycho walked toward him with that insane admiration. As if the moment he had received some power something broke in this man's brain. It pissed him off wondering what made the other so happy looking at him. He was just some ordinary man stuck in a damned dead-end job while the government did nothing to prevent the verbal abuse he endures.

"Isn't this your will that you pushed on me!? To become a god-!?"

In a fit of rage, he killed the blathering man when this man went to touch him... And this feeling of disappointment remained unsure of what came over this man as well as the worry about anyone discovering he had killed someone. His hand ached and itched at the wasted quirk but also fear of getting caught.

He needs to run.

Damn, he hated this world.

It lingered in his mind despite the fact he had other things to worry about like a teenage little brother. His work at this wretched company once again skimped him on his pay raise. Instead, they scolded him for his 'behavior' as he wasn't acting like a team player.

"Honestly, you're the only one here that complains and refuses to do over time! You need to learn to respect your elders more before you come bothering about a pay raise. But then I guess should expect it from a mutant," the last part was said under his boss's breath. Hisashi grits his teeth hating that the man wants him to be a slave but refused his deal.

As if he was going to work overtime to not get paid when has someone at home. But there isn't anything he could do about this bullshit.

"I do my job perfectly and usually finish by the time my shift ends. I still don't see why, me, refusing to stay over time is a deal breaker," Hisashi tried to speak calmly as forced a smile. Sadly it isn't very effective against a boss who has a powertrip over trying to break every new 'meat.' But he enjoys how it pisses the man off that he isn't affecting him.

"Tch, get out of my office! I already made my decision and that's final also dye your damn hair as we've said!"

The boss sneered bothered by his smile. Hisashi sighs as he gets up and bows though he doesn't go all the way. Enjoying the annoyance showing on the man's face at the half-asses respect as he leaves. But underneath he was fuming wondering why the hell he is still at this damned place.

He studied, he worked, he went to college like every other fucking drone in this society. He crawled over every other person to get to this position and yet in the end he hit the wall. Just like every other hopeless mess, his hand moves to touch his hair knowing exactly the reason. Despite his qualification, this is all they see, his refusal to conform to their desires.

As he returns to his desk the fire of spite was still fresh knowing he should work but a thought entered his mind.

If I was a cult leader maybe instead of being scorned they would cower in awe.

Hisashi frowned. The thoughts have been becoming stronger as is his urge to use his power. His hands were always itching to grab at something to shove in his pocket and take home was common. Kleptomania has always been a problem to the point was taken to a therapist, too bad their parents chickened out when they did say something was wrong.

Still, this felt different, not even when he comes home to his little brother did the feeling leave. Now thoughts of becoming a cult leader. How absurd there is only one result that could bring.

The sound of an email arriving on his computer sounded catching his attention. As he looked at the email he stares at the title.

Do you wish to learn how to charm people?

Well... Hisashi can't deny his curiosity.

"Hey, Big brother?" Yoichi spoke up. Today he seemed to be doing better and healthier. Seems the money he got from that expensive foreign ass doctor was worth it. If the free health care wasn't shit in this current climate it probably wouldn't be such an issue. Then again the doctors barely even know what is wrong with him.

"What is it, Yoichi?" Hisashi needed a smoke his nerves still shot at another failure for that pay. Not that he allows his little brother to know he has any problem. He can handle this.

"What have you been doing?" Yoichi was as blunt as ever. Those eyes looked at him curious but also concerned. Guessed he has noticed him sneaking out during odd hours but it is best not to admit that.

"Working," Hisashi answered. "Come on don't look at me like that Yoichi I'm fine you just focus on your highschool life before you get another episode."

He just hopes some asshole at the school remembers to mask up when sick before Yoichi goes through another hospital trip. He hates his brother going to that school it was a ticking time bomb now starting to understand why their parents kept him homeschooled if could. Not that Hisashi had many options for homeschooling if needs to work. What was it the parents always say? You'll understand when you have kids?

Too bad it is his little brother and not his actual kid.

...He shouldn't think like that. This is the only family he has and it isn't his fault his health is like this. But damn the other constantly questioning him can get frustrating.

"Stop acting like my dad it's weird," Yoichi was quick to remark. Making a face that didn't enjoy being 'talked' down to.

Hisashi looks at the brat who was trying to cross the barrier. As if he didn't sacrifice a lot to keep his ass out of the system before was even eighteen when their mom couldn't handle h̶i̶m̶ them.

"When you stop being a burden to our finance over a cold then you can tell me how to act," his word was harsh but it got the result he wanted. Watching those green eyes widen and his form shrink it made him back off. It was only the truth though so isn't too sure why that would bother him so much but it at least worked. Results are all he cares about.

"By the way, I'm probably going to be looking for new employment. So my schedule going to be a bit erratic," Hisashi informed. Taking out a cigarette as he goes to step outside. Though he glanced at Yoichi noting how he looked miserable. "What? Did it seriously bother you that much what I said?"

It honestly baffled him. As he's sure Yoichi is aware of this simple fact but he looked like he was about to-

"Hey don't cry! Why are you about to cry!?" Hisashi questioned startled as his little brother had tears in his eyes. Feeling himself becoming stressed at the tears in the other's eyes. Shit, how does he fix this?

"I'm not trying to be a burden!" Yoichi shouts his hands on his lap as his teeth were clenched. "Why do you always have to bring that up whenever I protest? Do you hate me that much?"

Hisashi tries to wrack his brain at how had come to this conclusion. He takes a moment to process the other's statement, "What? Why would I hate you?"

The smoke break and murder of his lungs can wait. Walking over he kneels in front of his little brother his large size allowing him to examine the teen boy.

"I love you a lot. It's why I'm doing all this I was just stating the truth it isn't anything to cry over. You know I'm just like that," Hisashi may have no idea why his brother was crying but he was trying. He reaches out to grab his little brother's hand and continues, "Look, no matter what I might say or do. You are important to me if wasn't for me caring about you I wouldn't be here. And you need me too, after all, I ain't abandoning you."

He knows that he isn't exactly... Parental. The other needed a dad and all he had was his apathetic and dead inside older brother. He used to have so much more life and joy, his little brother likely missed when would drag him outside to have fun. Playing roughly and how would spend every moment with him if could even if got him sick. It was a precious memory.

Unfortunately, he had to grow up.

"How about I buy you the last new chapters of, Captain Hero? I heard it is really good," he notes with an awkward smile. Yoichi slowly calmed down his tears only small sniffles as removed a hand to wipe his face. He was much too old to be crying and likely eventually Yoichi might rebel harder. He isn't too fond of that idea when is trying, but he was sure if this new work endeavor works out then it will be alright.

These cults were interesting.

Hisashi had technically 'joined' one out of curiosity. Though it was clear they were slowly starting to realize he wasn't invested like the others. The seminars quite frankly were about how amazing and perfect their leader was.

He had a mutant power. A weak rare 'healing' power but he can tell easily it was more about a euphoric sensation. Basically, the man had a touch that made you feel like you were on cloud nine was the claim. Everyone wanted to be touched by him and Hisashi studied him.

He experienced it once.

The man had touched him and it took all of Hisashi's willpower to not strike back. The touch was something else but beyond that, it wasn't as insane as everyone acted. Making him wonder if it is only because of how much he talks it up that they think it is some orgasmic experience. When it is just small shocks.

That wasn't the interesting part. It was just how every single follower was pathetic, desperate, and hopeless. They had no hope in themselves but in their leader who is spewing only lies. Spreading promises of happiness and joy while suppressing any desires for them to leave. He guessed if those are the targets of a cult it makes sense since many people have lost their homes, families, and everything.

Mutants, normal, and the odd ones were here mixed in the crowd. Though it seems the leader doesn't like being observed like a lab rat. One day he had tried to leave only to end up grabbed for a talk.

"You don't believe that I'm a real god, do you? I would think the business type would be more open-minded," The leader questioned. Hisashi doesn't say anything as he was shoved. Noting that the man that herded him in had blocked the entrance. Hisashi recovered as he fixed himself a bit.

"Come on now we are all adults here. I'm not about to expose you as the fraud you are," he puts on his businessman smile, "I'm just about to leave and you will never see me again."

Seems he somehow had said the wrong thing. This was to be the final time he make such a mistake in being so honest.

"You don't believe me a god? My my, I think you misunderstand. You can't just 'leave' once your in," the cult leader spoke as walks toward him. "We need to fix that come let me give you my touch. So we can open your mind."

What happened next would make anyone puke as his hand touches him in places he never wished for. "Don't touch me!" Hisashi howled hating the sensation trying to elicit fake emotions. It was a mistake he won't make again in his naivete. Seems it isn't just society that would rip siblings from each other but men themselves seeped in filth.

The cult's leader very soon learned though when he had his men restrain to give his touch. He learned this boy had no heart to change but the itch had grown. With an unfathomable strength calling all those works he worried about calling at once, he grabbed the man's skull-

And crushed him like a grape.

"W-What the hell!? What are you!?!?" The guards were shocked and horrified pulling away from him with fear. Blood still coated his hand and despite most people would be horrified at what he had done... He felt euphoric. Wondering if it was because of the man's quirk prior that he stole before crushing or maybe he was just this fucked up on the inside. A ringing in his very chest that felt so empty seemed to sing.

As he looks over at the guards a wide smile formed on his face as he felt like those villains in those comics. Like he had just finally been freed by whatever shackle had made him cautious of going too far. The fear on their face at his smile only made him cackle as he finally says what had been on his mind since that psycho asked if wanted followers.

"I'm above that fraud and I'm going to show you what a mistake you all made in trying to contain me," he jeers knowing he was always broken inside. He always has been hating every rule and monotonous life he was forced to live working for other people. Abandoned by their father and their mother's untimely demise. So leaving him the only one to struggle to care for his brother. To conform to what others wanted just to survive in this miserable existence with small-time peddling.

Unloved. Unwanted. The only thing he had is a little brother whose health depends on how much money he has.

But right now, for the first time in his life, he felt joy in this depressing and monotone life because he finally understands why he exists.

Even if the leader was a fraud he had taught Hisashi everything he had needed to learn about how to gain followers. With actual power of worth, he can do more than dumb parlor tricks and shocks of euphoria. The government didn't exactly help make the many mountains of mutants end up shot down any lesser. So he focused on that.

After all, his old job presently has him in work limbo because of his conduct so he has time.

He learned to run toward any chaotic scene. He was no hero he had no intention of helping the police and this time he won the lottery. Someone's superpower had gone out of control and then the police came at him with guns blazing. This time tho they escaped without becoming a chalk line with people wondering what happened.

Such a sorry sight. She was curled up in the corner of the trash the evidence of flowers crawling across her features and even on the trash. A pretty thing though not his type looking almost sharp. Those eyes stared intently at him with a burning fear as the flowers seemed to grow even more.

"Relax, I'm only here to help," he assures with a small smile as he walks toward the other. Memorizing how that cult leader and how held himself with decorum. Slowly extending a hand to the woman as he smiles, "You may call me..."

In the Aftermath of USJ, Izuku's relationship with his father has become unfamiliar. As the man now seems to be almost distant from him despite having once never given him space. Izuku isn't sure if this is a warning of things to come, as the HPSC isn't done trying to recruit him all he can do is just try to find solace in familiar company.

Chapter 26 is out! This one might tread a bit more personal to some but it an important chapter. Izuku is struggling with a lot of new experience he never had in his secluded mansion. And after the last chapter isn't to sure how to navigate for the future.

Treasure Vault (Rewritten) - CH 1

Characters: All for One, Yoichi Shigaraki

Relationship: All for One & Yoichi Shigaraki

Warning: Platonic Yandere, Disturbing behavior, Vault time

Summary: All for One has had enough of his little brother's rebellious nature. He can't afford to risk his little brother's life by letting him continue this. If he has to commit cruelties to keep his brother safe, then so be it. What's one more sin on the pile?

All for One was a monster.

A man feared as an unspeakable being, a living demon that plagues the very world in a never-ending torment. At the least... That's what the government would prefer to call it.

As if they hadn't started it when they started basically allowing it to be legal in everything but name to kill Metahumans. That any whose 'powers' got a bit out of hand was to be killed and when those with power retaliated the cycle grew more chaotic. Fathers turning against sons, siblings against their kin, there were all kinds.

All he had done was take advantage of a situation they had no interest in reigning in since the beginning.

And yet... It seems his own flesh had turned against him. The younger brother who once looked at him with bright eyes full of affection had darkened with anger.

Words escalate in debates and arguments that he can't fathom that he has to keep making. And this was no different, as had been given a 'gift' as a quirk and now those eyes had become spiteful.

Then the boy tried to run away and it was time to put his foot down as the other's guardian before instead of Yoichi being a spiteful brat he ends up being a corpse.

"I assumed many things about you that even I can admit might be exaggerated but stupidity ironically wasn't one of them," All for One spoke curtly as thankfully his men had found the idiot boy. Even if he was legally an adult it was hard to take him seriously when he spouts about heroism only to make dumb decisions that put his life in danger.

"But then I guess that be acknowledging that I didn't exactly 'raise' you to be as smart as you should be," a regret but something he can't change. As he was a child raising a child, mistakes were bound to happen. It's a miracle that they were able to make it to adulthood after 'abruptly' becoming orphans, "Release him."

His little brother was silent just staring daggers at him clearly in a foul mood right now. Those green eyes peaking from underneath his hair as he watches him intently waiting to be released. Though his men clearly didn't understand as in the next second they practically threw him at All for One's feet. A sneer shows on the crime lords face as his red eyes stares his men down, "I didn't say throw him."

His voice was light but there was a slight edge to his voice as his smile turned more like he was baring his fangs as a warning. While he might be mad at his brother he isn't about to allow outsiders to cause his sibling harm. That seemed to make his men shrink back as if in an apology.

None of his men really liked Yoichi it seemed. They tolerated him because he was his brother but in their eyes, he was a parasite that leeched off All for One causing trouble and throwing a 'fit' whenever doesn't get his way.

All assumptions, but does make him worry at times that even his own men may eventually cause his brother harm. The attempts at his own life weren't exactly small and eventually he knows it will get worse. The government may not have done a direct attack but they sure put up quite a show.

"Wow you're quite roughed up," Hisashi speaks as he walks over to offer his hand to his little brother to lift him up. Of course, it was ignored likely out of his usual stubbornness for 'independence' as the male got up by himself. Seeming even more irritated then before which is understandable after being thrown onto the floor.

"Couldn't even come get me yourself? Your men weren't exactly gentle and I'm sure you know that," Yoichi speaks harshly as if his brother had ordered them to be rough with him. Hisashi has told Yoichi time and time again that they do as they wish most times. Even if he follows orders he can't control how as he is only one man. He can inspire fear so they don't go too far from his plans but they were still independent then his brother was stubborn.

"Seriously what am I supposed to do with you," Hisashi sighs not about to argue with the other on that specific subject. As he had some more important concerns, as his little brother was going to get himself killed if he was making 'escape' attempts. Some hero his little brother turned out to be he was more like a damsel in distress but then he guessed that made his older brother a dragon. "You know I'm working and can't always come to save you."

Yoichi's eyes narrowed at the implication that he was somehow a bother especially since he had been trying to run away. When really Hisashi thinks he should be thinking about it because his older brother is sick with worry and doesn't want him out of his site. Even if Hisashi would never say that at times like this he wasn't proving it wrong that possible is a slight burden.

"I can't believe you're serious. You aren't working, you are LIVING OUT some insane fantasy of being the big bad of your dream!" Yoichi spits out with a surprising amount of rage. Hisashi 's eyes narrow just a hint unable to understand why it's an issue. It provided a lot more than working at a black company or stealing off the streets with people wanting to cave your skulls.

"And your point?" Was his only response, was he supposed to deny it? Tell him, yeah I'm being a big bad for funnies and don't care about anything~!

Because that's how his brother is making him sounds like.

"....Fuck you." Yoichi answered with a sneer. Honestly, where did he learn these words? He must be hanging out with the thugs too long.

And this is exactly why they can't have a nice and relaxed conversation as his brother would get frustrated so easily. Words, reason, facts, none of it mattered to his brother at this point and Hisashi knew this day was going to come when nothing between them could be resolved. But he has to try once more before his last resort.

"Don't you care that you could die if you leave my sight? I've made a lot of enemies, the government would use you as bait to kill me. Those 'rebels' might just outright kill you, and there are tons of thugs that didn't join me yet," once more he is trying to talk to his brother's good nature. To reason that he doesn't need to go this far just to make a point.

"Maybe if you would just stop this whole power fantasy and tried to be actually a good person or even give this up all together. I wouldn't be in danger," Yoichi counters ignoring the plea. Those green eyes stared into his own eyes and Hisashi felt his anger grow now wondering how he could say that.

This child.

Any goodwill he had was thrown out the window as it seemed his brother truly only saw him as a villain. When the only one he never wished to be seen in such a way was by his little brother. He talked, he bargained but Yoichi is the only one who never cooperates with him!

Can't he see it's all to keep him safe?

"Enough! If you won't listen to reason or even be content on stepping aside then I have no choice, tie him up and gag him," he sneers watching his brother's brave expression change to shock and horror. Ha, seems his brother can act strong until his favoritism runs out.

"Wha-"Yoichi was about to speak when he was grabbed by the arm. Those lovely green eyes shifted to look at him as thrashed as if his worst nightmare was becoming a reality, "Big brother stop this! What are- LET ME GO! HAVE YOU GONE INSANE!? Please don't-"

The young man cried out but before can say anything anymore, they got the gag on him along with blindfolds for good measure. They weren't gentle as they held him too tightly, unable to hear the slight hiss and whines of pain from his brother. But he watched until his brother was unable to move though it's clear his men thought they were going to carry him.

"You've done enough, leave him on the floor and go. This is a family matter now," he makes himself very clear watching the guards tense up staring intently at him. It was very much a threat as he didn't want anyone knowing about where he was taking him. He had enough trust issues to deal with and didn't need more, watching them until they completely left the room.

"I really didn't want to resort to this Yoichi... But you've left me no choice," his voice was soft as he went to kneel down beside his brother. Moving his hand to gently brush it against the male's white locks savoring how soft it feels. His precious little brother.

He can't lose him.

"I hope you get quite aquinted in your new home," his voice was a whisper as he heard his brother protest behind the gag. Already picking him up to sling over his shoulder as the place had been made long ago and those that would know were sparse, he will be safe there.

It was quite a trip to make. Especially since they had to make sure the van didn't have explosives nor were they followed. While he had quite an array of quirks, the transportation quirks weren't reliable. This wasn't a risk he was willing to take on his brother until he was sure of its safety.

His brother certainly squirmed a lot during the whole ordeal. Thrashing and making noises but eventually, even he grew quiet. Likely tuckered out by the end which made it so much easier when they arrived to take him out to his new home. Inside of a vault that was meant to house precious treasure.

But then what is more precious than his only living family? Even if said family member is weak and bothersome.

He was still careful to place him in the bed. Making sure his body is laid first on the mattress being careful not to cause anymore bruising then it already has. Anticipating a fight with his brother the moment releases him as while the boy may not be squirming he is clearly not asleep.

As soon as he cut the rope off Yoichi's arm the younger male shot up and attempted to punch him.

Hisashi barely avoids it feeling amused at how much energy his brother has as the male nearly fell off the bed. Looking quite upset as he yanks off his gag and blinds so can finally speak all the things he likely wanted to say. Though likely the first order of business was....

"Where the HELL am I!?" The location that is more akin to a prison with a room.

Yoichi was looking around more than a bit concerned since he had just been in every sense 'kidnapped' by his older brother. As those green eyes landed on the door to a vault and his skin seemed so much paler now.

"Please, Hisashi tell me you haven't lost your mind. You can't do this to me we're supposed to be family," Yoichi's voice was smaller as he looked at his brother who seconds he tried to punch. As if realizing just how serious this situation had truly become now.

"I can and I will. Trust me, this is my last resort as you refuse to stay put and interfere constantly," It was the only way to keep him safe. To put himself at ease knowing nothing is about to end his weak brother's life because of stupidity.

"You...." There is horror, confusion, betrayal and despair in his little brother's eyes as he realizes Hisashi meant every word. "You're insane. Let me out!"

It is amazing what adrenaline and fear can do as Yoichi shot up to his feet off the bed to run. Fear was clear on his face but he wasn't fast enough, but then how could he expect to outrun a monster with powers beyond normal human capabilities?

Able to grab him with such ease as if Yoichi had barely moved, his grip tight so his brother could squirm. Finally realizing how weak he truly was.

"Awww don't say. Don't worry it is just until you behave yourself it's for your own good," Hisashi promises, finding it funny how now his brother was scared. Hoping it was a good sign that he might rethink his stupid and naive stance. To think he was some hero that can do anything with no powers or ideas.

His stupid, weak, and precious baby brother.

"Shut up! You're just the stupid persona All for One. I want my brother back the brother who loved me wouldn't imprison me!" Yoichi snapped and shoved him. Or rather attempted to but it only caused All for One to tighten his grip on the male.

So he's the villain to Yoichi's hero was he?

Not his big brother? Not his caretaker? Not Hisashi who sacrificed literally everything to make sure they didn't die in the streets?

His eyes stared into his little brothers feeling his anger grow as his grip tightened on Yoichi. Watching the male seem to shrink just a hint but still tried to hold strong and meet his gaze. His brother was a stubborn one he can at least admit that.

"So I'm the bad guy is that it Yoichi? I'm the monster that gets defeated in the end?" All for One speaks firmly as he can play the role a bit if that is what his brother wants instead... But he can't.

Maybe for a little while but its hard seeing the way his brother tries so hard to be strong. The way those eyes look up at him there was still innocence and pleading for him...

He smiles softly despite himself as if to assure the other he wasn't mad at his behavior. His little brother was already going to suffer a lot here and will try to accommodate him as best he can.

"I promise, this isn't forever," he doesn't wish it to be forever. Releasing the young man he watches as the male steps away from him looking unsure. As Hisashi slowly walks toward the door it seemed Yoichi tried to follow but was shoved back.

"Please, Hisashi don't do this! You don't have to be the bad guy, we can just stop all of this! Go some where far far away from everything," Yoichi was pleading now almost bargaining. Hisashi looks at his little brother noting that the first time he raised an idea of just leaving it all.

Maybe if he had said something earlier it would have been alright. Viable even to take all the money and run off... It's too late for that there is too much going on and too many people wanting him dead.

"I'll make sure to visit often and make you your favorite food. I love you," was his only response as he hears his brother scream at him not to leave. Before closing the door completely leaving his hysteric brother behind. Noting how quiet it became the moment the door closed allowing him peace.

His chest was heavy as he felt his vision blur trying hard not to feel the frustration about the situation. His hand moves to wipe his face and straightens himself up as he places a hand on the door. His eyes staring intently as he had work that still wasn't completed.

"I promise, this isn't forever. Even if I hurt you everything in the end is for you," maybe he had lost his way and original motivation. Maybe he had lost sight of his original goals just twisted by a childhood fantasy.

Which is what made his one connection, Yoichi, so important. Knowing if he loses him then he will become that very monster everyone believes in. His remaining sanity will break because he can't let him go. It's too late to turn back from this path as it was only inviting death to himself and Yoichi.

Especially Yoichi...

Because what is the point of a future if the only family he has is gone?
