#Yata would be so proud if he won a competition on his bf's skateboard too

Since Fushimi can't skateboard to save his life, let's say, he instead studies the physics and "tech" in skateboard creation. He researches the best materials for the grip tape, deck, trucks, wheels, bearings, hardware, bushings, everything. He researches the aerodynamics and best shape for the deck. He even researches the best paint or designs for the decks that won't wear out. And he always then upgrades Yata's skateboard(s) for him as a way to say that he might not exactly enjoy the same hobby as his boyfriend but it's hobby-adjacent and is his best effort to be a good boyfriend himself.

This kinda reminds me of Sk8 except I’m not sure how Fushimi became the Reki to Yata’s Langa XD This would be cute though, Fushimi trying to find a way to support his boyfriend’s hobbies in his own fashion. Like imagine post-ROK and maybe Yata’s been doing competitions and such so he’s really into his skateboarding now, treating it as a possible career. He likes to spend time just skating around and of course he’s tried to get Fushimi into it too, like something else they can do together, but somehow despite being ridiculously talented in like everything else Fushimi cannot skateboard to save his life. Yata tells him it’s fine, you can just watch me and give encouragement (Fushimi clicks his tongue and Yata’s like ‘I mean…as much as you’re able to anyway’). 

Fushimi secretly feels a bit down about this though, like this is something Yata enjoys and Fushimi can’t really do anything but watch. One day Yata’s practicing on the roof and one of his boards breaks, he sets it next to the couch where Fushimi’s watching him and goes to get a new board, sighing like I wish I could afford a really cool board. Fushimi looks at Yata’s broken board and starts thinking, like imagine he’s not even paying attention to Yata at this point and Yata gets a little exasperated like what’s so interesting about a broken skateboard. Fushimi just keeps looking at it, spinning the wheels idly and Yata sighs all I’ll leave you two alone.

A week or so later Yata hasn’t seen Fushimi much at all lately and assumed he must have been super busy with work. He’s surprised and kinda concerned when he finds out that Fushimi actually unexpectedly took the week off, like is he being ignored or something. Fushimi sends Yata a text to meet at Yata’s apartment and Yata’s a little apprehensive, wondering if he’s being broken up with. When he gets there though imagine Fushimi looking a little disheveled but happy as he presents Yata with a new skateboard. It looks different from any board Yata’s had before and Yata wonders if it was super expensive. Imagine him trying it out and it’s the best skateboard he’s ever ridden, like it’s so smooth and sturdy and fast it’s amazing, seriously how much did you spend to buy this Saruhiko. Fushimi gives Yata the kind of confident smile that reminds Yata of when they were kids as he says he made it.

Yata’s just in awe, like Saruhiko you really are amazing. He loves the skateboard, it’s his absolute favorite but he didn’t know Fushimi could make skateboards. Fushimi shrugs like it’s a simple matter of studying the structure and aerodynamics and applying your knowledge, Yata has no idea what most of that means but it sounds smart. After this Fushimi basically becomes Yata’s unofficial ‘mechanic,’ he’s always upgrading Yata’s skateboards and testing out new styles and feeling all gratified when Yata smiles at him so widely and calls him amazing. Yata loves this not just because he’s getting awesome new skateboards but also because now it feels more like skateboarding is something they’re doing together, like even if Fushimi can’t skateboard alongside him Yata feels like Fushimi’s always there with him.
