Okay, so

I remember seeing people confused on who the "twins" that were mentioned on Mulberry's reference sheet for the 1989 Convenience Store Clerk:

To explain: There was never-before-seen concept art of the original 202X Clerks that was never used for some unknown reason. In this case, the 202X Convenience Clerks were first shown (as a silhouette) in YandereDev's video A Tour Of Yandere Simulator's New Street back in 2019:

After the 1980s Update, You get to see the un-silhouetted art on the reference notes Mulberry posted:

On the right, you can see Cashier-San, and on the left is either an early version of the Mom Manager from 1989 or another character (maybe Cashier-San's sibling/friend).

So, in conclusion, The twins Mulberry is referring to is a concept that we haven't seen, not the Basu Twins or any other twins people speculated.

Yandere Simulator - A Sleuth's Blunt and Honest Review

Hello everyone! The sleuth is back and she is ready to give you her blunt and honest review of Yandere Simulator. I’ve been wanting to do this for SO long but I simply did not have a computer strong enough to do a fair and accurate review. Recently, I was able to get a decent laptop and the demo installed fairly quickly – perhaps 8 to 10 minutes.

To those who may be new to this blog, I started following the development in 2015/2016(?) when I first saw a gameplay by Markiplier, and I am one of many that has watched Yandere Simulator transform from bare-bones to this STUNNING atmosphere with tons of different gameplay options. I am so proud of how far this game has come, and I appreciate YandereDev and his volunteers for busting their asses every day and sticking with the development. I will be going through what is likely common knowledge, but I’m rather late to the game and I apologize.

The main menu is unique! I’m not the most knowledgeable gamer out there, but I have never seen one quite like this before. Pressing start creates a rather fast zoom towards Ayano, who is holding a love letter behind her back. After you defeat your rival, you can see a visual of the specific method you used in the background. (ie. Osana’s bloody body hanging out of the fan; I don’t want to provide a screen shot of this, so just pretend.) Last I heard, not every elimination had a specific visual yet, but I’m not sure if this is still true or not. The menu is very easy to read, and you are currently allowed three different game files. You are unable to use the easter eggs/debug cheats until you have eliminated your rival once, which is a nice touch.

The introduction cutscene is quite compelling and it grabs your attention easily. I noticed that the large flash of various images are now in a photograph format and gradually piles up in the middle of the screen (if that makes sense); I feel that the previous format, image after image, was a bit more thrilling. Though, I appreciate the current look, as it hints that you will be taking pictures in the game, at one point or another.

One question I have: It’s canon that Ryoba kidnapped Ayano’s father and tied him to a chair in her basement (as told by the basement tape.) Yet in the cutscene, it shows them under the cherry tree, holding hands. Is this simply a daydream of Ayano’s? Is she truly aware of how her parents got together?

The game runs VERY smooth overall; it is a little choppy in spots, but the performance is much better from what I remember. Out of force of habit, I adjusted my settings anyway; I’m personally not a fan of the outlines on each character. I’m not sure why; it’s just a preference for me. For the sake of this review, I chose an elimination method that I have never tried before: Expel. I believe that choosing a method that I’m well-rehearsed in would not make this a very fair review, and it would not represent the challenges in the game.

The current small town holds a variety of shops – hardware, games, lingerie, and even a small restaurant to earn money. (I’ve played it in the past and it’s pretty fun.) It has a lovely ambience to it, with perky music in the background and several familiar faces roaming the street. Despite being unable to adjust my settings or access my phone in general, the town still runs great on my new laptop. You are automatically given $10 at the beginning of the game, and I chose to buy the stealthy black underwear, to limit students’ range of sight.

I’m thrilled to learn that there are more ways to receive points for Info-Chan’s services. The bug mechanic is genius and is a lot more convenient for players. With this feature, you can receive fifty points per day. And for any other extra points you may need, you can ‘sneak’ panty shots.

The first (minor) complaint I have is the controls for taking photos. When you have a laptop with no actual buttons, and no mouse, it’s impossible to do so. I had to take my mouse from my Yamcha PC in order to take the lewd pictures on Osana’s phone, and for the vandalism of the vending machine. Aside from this, the expel method is very interesting, and I admit that I was a bit scared stealing the answer sheet. I had gotten caught once because I placed the radio too close to the door, but I was able to go back and successfully steal the sheet.

The second, not-so-small complaint I have is regarding the ring theft from Sakyu Basu. I had the WORST time stealing it! I learned rather quickly that for whatever reason, I could not distract Sakyu. I could not interact with her at all. She just sat there, eating lunch. I tried bang snaps, simply sneaking up on her to grab the ring, and even joining the drama club for a mask with the intention of just grabbing it and running. Each time, I would get the ‘don’t touch that’ dialogue and never got a chance to take it again. Out of frustration, I tried stealing it while INKYU was distracted and it worked!

The third and the biggest complaint is SNAP mode; I have been anticipating this for years. First, I will say that this feature is absolutely terrifying, and the concept is everything I imagined and more. Ayano finally loses her sanity, to the point of no return and you are free to eliminate anyone and everyone in your path, within a time limit. The objective of snap mode is to obtain a knife and kill Senpai, since he has discovered your true nature and he will never love you.

Unfortunately, SNAP mode hardly worked for me and I eventually had to close out of the game. I got the game over on the roof top at lunch time, and I got the command to find the knife. I would venture through the school to try to do so, and would press the space bar to transport a little further, but I would get static and teleport to the same exact spot I was at on the roof! I learned that eliminating students in my path would buy me time to search further into the school, but eventually, I ran out of students and I was stuck on the roof.

But… I have faith that the ring bug and the snap mode bug will be fixed.

After Osana’s expulsion, I admit that I am rather intrigued by this method and may actually use it in the final product. Senpai’s sanity will be playing a major part in the game, and it will be very interesting to see when it is fully implemented.

The first of three ending cutscenes introduced Amai Odayaka. She is absolutely precious and I cannot wait to learn more about her when her week arrives! I almost had her eliminated during the Amai challenge, but I messed up and had to end the game for the night.

The newest adjustment to the students’ models are just beautiful. Have a look at Kokona Haruka!

Overall, this game is rich in lore and plot twists, and plenty to speculate on. There is SO MUCH to do in Yandere Simulator! I feel that this game has a lot of potential and I look forwards to its release, whenever that may be. Unfortunately, the pandemic has slowed a lot of things down, including the upcoming crowdfunding campaign. This is a fantastic demo to check out if you have not already. I’m planning on going back in and finishing the Amai challenge, experimenting with mission mode and pose mode.

good here with an oc of yandere simulator (although it also works like oc of typical anime school cliche: v) that I did in many (well not so much) years ago (I admit that its first design I did it based on it gave me laziness) but decided in drawing it again with paint and good what I have of basic sheet would be that: Name: Morrie Violet age: 17 nationality: Mexican on behalf of his father and Asian of his mother personality: extroverted, simple with life, geek who likes anime and manga and sometimes irresponsible of their school duties he likes: the Mexican food, animes and mangas (more specific the demographics shones and shojos), spend time with his friends and role-play in wattpad books. Maybe that character will use it for role of schools in wattpad.

Character Design and Friction

Originally written on January 15, 2023.

It’s the weekend and I’m just kind of messing around.  I wanted to polish Mindy’s design before I started drawing the beginnings of her animated sprite, so I started putting together this reference development sheet.

At the time of writing this, her anterior view is actually already finished but I don’t have it saved on my computer.  I decided to change her original design (see top left corner) to include arms only because I think it will look clearer when animated and her hands won’t get lost in the details.  I’ve also work-shopped her silhouette and hood a bit.  Now the hood is a bit more similar to the finished illustration of her I did for class (the one with the colorful bugs in the corner) but also, with input from an instructor, made her cape/cloak thing a little more complementary to her silhouette then it was before, and I’m very happy with how she looks right now.  Very Paper Mario-esc.

In the meantime, while I work on the character sheet, I felt like coding some more stuff and all I really got finished was friction.  Essentially this is when the character moves for a little bit of time after you let go of the directional button—Inertia.  I followed this old video by DragoniteSpam which uses a WAY outdated version of Game Maker Studio, but I was able to adapt his concepts and even refine them, I think(?).

The original code used 3 whole IF statements which is a lot for basic movement.  There’s a lot of caution around how man IF statements you put into your code because of the horror stories of Yandere Dev (creator of Yandere Simulator.  Look it up, *shudder*).  Essentially the computer has to check these IF conditions every time it runs them, so I was actually able to cut it from 3 to 1, which I’m proud of.  However, I’m not entirely sure if using a “repeat” function would be considered good practice or not but nobody online seems to inherently swear them off?  I think you just have to be cautious to not create an infinite loop, which I don’t think I’m in trouble of in this specific situation.  I might even be able to totally get rid of it.  It’s worth experimenting with!

Anyways that’s it for tonight.  I hope to finish the character sheet and start animating on Tuesday.  Maybe I’ll code some more by then?

this is Monika ‘Nik/c’ Carolin (the k/c thing bc I made a handwritten typo on the character sheet, it should be a ‘k’)

she is a adventurer in the kingdom of Alinala, currently under the tyrannical rule of Lord Fintan, an extremely powerful fire mage. Nik is part of the group of adventurers working to put the rightful heir (Lukas) on the throne

her best friend Luna is a dark mage and they are traveling with Lukas and Zane to defeat Fintan and ‘save Alinala’

Nik and Luna originally lived in the same town, Windale. However in the series of arsons that Fintan set to make the crown concede and hand over the kingdom to him, Windale was burnt to the ground. and the thing with Fintan’s fires was that he set up a magical barrier around the towns so that no one could escape. so the only survivors were people who were out of town, including Nik and Luna, who were out getting roots and herbs for the local medicine woman. being orphaned at a young age started their quest for revenge, and they are now dead set on dethroning the stupid man who did this to them nyeheheh

however, Nik and Luna each have secrets. Nik is a very well hidden crazy person, who I named sociopath for lack of better word (sorry if I’m way off base didn’t mean to offend) but is totally hidden from the rest of her teammates. in a way she is kind of like yandere chan from yandere simulator, where she hid the fact she was very different for her entire life, acting a lot so she would fit in and disguise her malicious intents. but that’s where the similarities end, she’s not a yandere that’s for sure

SPENT THE WHOLE DAY AT CEBIT AND IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!

...even got to show some of my otaku side at the Craftar booth QwQ ahhhhhh (apparenlty this company designed the human characters in pokemon go?????? SO COOL!!!)

they had a lil yandere simulation with vr goggles and it was like i was inside the anime!!!!!????? ...it felt kinda great to be the object of yandere-chan’s affection/obsession ;w;

also before trying out the simulation the guy at the booth asked me if i watch anime and if i do which ones and i wAS SO FLUSTERED I COULDN’T REMEMBER ANY RECENT ANIME I WATCHED. so i just blurted out osomatsu-san ahhhh. but both the guy and his superior knew what i was talking about ahhh (his superior only seemed to know about the 80s version osomatsu-kun tho aha, which i watched as well btw), also said i recently started to watch the original sailor moon anime ;w; and then right before the simulation he asked me if i knew about the terms tsundere and yandere (of course i do ;w;) 

after the simulation, i talked a bit more with another guy at the booth (the first guy was mysteriously gone???) and right after the simulation he literally greeted me with the words: So I heard you like anime? :)  and then we talked a bit more and i told him that i wanna seriously study japanese after i finish school and that maybe in the distant future i wanna work in japan and he told me i should do it!!!! ahhhhhh i was probably blushing the whole time because i’m so passionate about all of this ;w; at the end when i had to leave the booth again we parted ways with a “Sayonara” ahhhhhhh QWQ

...besides this amazing experience i also saw some HQ 8K TV screens at the NHK booth and a karaoke software that automatically displays the lyrics in a fun animated way that’s supposed to make singing along to the lyrics even more fun and it looked so futuristic ahhh. i also stopped at a booth presenting japan’s IT-Valley Tokushima (i felt kinda bad for being more interested in the cultural side than in the IT side ;w; and after grabbing a few information sheets and touristy stuff i quietly snuck away........ i’m still so ashamed. sorry to the booth ppl ;x; i felt intimidated because they were all so professional and i felt so out of place and that made me all shy and quiet ahh... ;x;)

...then i had a totally overpriced green tea (initially i wanted onigiri but they were already sold out... i didn’t want to just leave and be rude so i bought a green tea instead...... so overpriced ;;;;;;;;;;;;;; spent the last of my money on that....... and it wasn’t even that great of a green tea... and i burned my entire mouth because it was so hot haha......)

bUT I SAW SOME CRIMINALLY GORGEOUS BUSINESSMEN?????? one looked like a middle aged bishonen and the other could’ve been straight out of ouran high school host club or something ahhhhhhh. i really had to bite my tounge to keep in any reaction ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; my aesthetic senses were tingling all over the place ahhhh (so many pretty people and i felt like a big lumpy sack of ugly potatoes ;;;;;;;; i felt so anxious because of that... like i’m so fat n ugly and they are all so gorgeous..... which was probably intensified by walking around on my own...)

ALL IN ALL IT WAS A GOOD DAY THO!!!! (Craftar’s booth made it all worth it tbh ♥Lots of Love♥)

...i might go back on friday since i got a ticket that’s valid all week * w *
