Even finding a movie was an ordeal. They both had too many things they wanted to watch, and only one night to do it.
In the end, instead of watching something new, Yakko and Max went through the old reliable movies, such as Hocus Pocus, A Goofy Movie, (because Yakko was a little shit) Wakko's Wish (because Max was also a little shit) and Anastasia.
Anastasia used to make Max cry as a kid. He was just glad he'd grown out of it.
And, because it was a date night, something inevitably went wrong. Yakko tripped and spilled the popcorn. Max sat on the remote and turned the TV off. Yakko reached into his hammerspace, completely immersed in Hocus Pocus, for extra-large sodas and accidentally summoned extra-large piranhas. Max tried to be smooth and put his arm around Yakko, only to accidentally slap the poor guy.
A bit of a disaster. But also totally normal for them.
The popcorn spilled? They could make or summon more. Max sat on the TV remote? Yakko made a whoopie-cushion sound. Extra large piranhas? Summon extra large mallets to deal with them. The accidental slap? That just resulted in Yakko laughing and hugging him.
Who needed perfect? Max was thoroughly enjoying himself and, judging by the constant laughter, so was Yakko.
