#YOU'RE MISSING THE POINTTTTT#was he always an asshole with deep rooted issues with his ego and masculinity?#possibly probably yes#BUT. He wasn't nearly as bad as ppl make him out to be. he struggles with his morality and his descent is gradual#vince gilligan's whole idea for brba was to 'take mr. chips and turn him into scarface'#FURTHERMORE one of the themes of Better call saul was nature vs. nurture#and how jimmy WASN'T 'always like this'. maybe he had some predispositions but he wasn't BORN like that#so by claiming that walt was always evil you're missing the point#which is that he was this milque toast run-of-the-mill guy who got corrupted by power and this could happen to anyone#feel free to hate on him bc he deserves the shade but do it for the shit he did AFTER his diagnosis#of course there is no excuse for what he did but there is absolutely no indication that he ever did anything to harm anyone before that#skyler and flynn both keep saying how much walt changed so like. that's your proof right there that he was more or less normal#if he was always as cruel and abusive as y'all claim then the change wouldn't be. a change noticed by the characters#thanks for coming to my ted talk#breaking bad#brba#walter white
