For a post-Odyssey story, I think what I'd enjoy most is a slow process of learning how to be a father for Odysseus.
People with absent/distant fathers know that when they try to connect/reconnect with you, it's always so awkward so I don't really vibe with the idea that Odysseus would be immediately on the best of terms with Telemachus (and he doesn't really know him). And I mean, when all settles down, sort of further into the future when routine is established. How does a son that has never truly known his father interact with him now that he's back for good? There's so much dynamic established with Odysseus-gone-from-home and so much needs to be rebuilt. Is a man who left for this long ever truly back? Telemachus is his mother's son with his father's legacy, how will he reconnect to someone who hasn't had direct hand in raising him past offering him a hero's journey to follow?
