Time for more old stuff!

To this day, I still find myself, from time to time, thinking about @loycos 's Bellow Diamond human AU (ilysm loycos) and @thegembeaststemple 's Jasper (this was Premium Quality Jasper).

And Jesse Zuke's Lapidot (whatever happened to them? Have they worked on any other shows?).

Yelena Diaz's personal Gundam, Absalom Tyr. Originally Gundam Ares, it was heavily damaged after Steven's raid on the Homeworld's Mars Station Hangar almost left her for dead. She vowed to surpass her limits in order to one day overthrow Winowa, subsequently outfitting her upgraded MS with two additional fusion reactors. She still bides her time in secret, waiting for a sign of weakness from the Homeworld Authority's Matriarch Supreme.

I like the idea of pink diamond symbolizing a disabled adult instead of a child. she needed guidance and accommodations but instead she was abused, neglected and infantilized

in "a tale of steven" she's described by white diamond as "impossible to understand, impossible to ignore and impossible to control." during the jungle moon flashback she seems to not know stuff she's supposed to know as a diamond — at first she just keeps repeating yellow's words:

YD: I'm commanding the drop ships to colonize this planet.

PD: I wanna command a drop ship!

YD: Well, when you have your own colony you can command whatever you want.

PD: I want a colony!

shortly after this bit of dialogue yellow opens up a panel in which a drop ship can be seen. even though pink just asked to command one, she still asks yellow "what is this?". yellow says she's contacting the leader of the fleet and pink tells her to let her do it instead — and proceeds to start smashing the panel randomly. it seems like she doesn't know what she's doing.

rose told greg that gems burst out of the ground already knowing what they're supposed to be; unlike other gems, pink seems to have emerged lacking knowledge about her duties as a diamond. she needed guidance and accomodations not bc she was child but bc she was different from her fellow diamonds.

spinel said that "pink wanted a colony, more than anything". I don't think she was fixated on the idea of having a colony because she was a spoiled child who felt entitled to it but bc she was a disabled adult who wanted to be seen as an equal. pink thought she would no longer be mistreated by her family and would gain the independence she craved if only they'd let her fulfil her diamond duties.

YD Gem Steven looked over toward Yellow when she offered. "I mean if it gives you peace of mind to make sure that I'm ok, even though I feel fine right now. I guess I won't make a big stink about it." He replied, shifting his hand to pull his shirt collar down to expose his gemstone.

His gemstone was in a different orientation, looking as if it was rotated slightly about 90 degrees so it looked as if it were a different cut of gem that sported the same square cut. It was perfect golden hue with no cracks in sight.

"So what's the verdict?" YD Gem Steven asked looking over with his yellow diamond eyes with a hint of concern to his gaze.

YD Gem Steven moved to get his face out of the and spitting a mouthful of sand out, and blinking a bit to get it out of his eyes. He cleared his throat, and looked over. “Mmm yea, just being… clumsy.” He turned away to check his gemstone, since Yellow Pearl probably wouldn’t have wanted to see it. He paused, “Ok. I can’t see if my Gem is cracked… but I feel fine… so I think I’m ok…” He replied, covering it back up with his shirt.

“Oh…” Somehow that was not the answer she had expected, then again she hadn’t expected any of this to begin with. Yellow tilted her head when Steven turned away clearly checking on his gem not being sure why he would hide it from her. It wasn’t like she didn’t know what gem he had so it wouldn’t be shocking her. 

“I can check if you want me too” the Pearl offered, knowing seeing her former owner’s gem would probably bring back so memories. Or at least set memories back in the place where they belonged, as her mind had been quite scrambled ever since she had been brought back. Apparently that was quite normal for gems that had been trapped like her and would clear up over time.

BD AU: yellow simply puts her fellow diamonds in bubbles because she thinks they are no longer needed

WD AU: pink traps her fellow diamonds in fake realities made from their clouds (abilities completely inspired by rose's room)

YD AU : Blue diamond freezes her diamond friends, transforming them into massive ice statues
