Elemental Master's HeadCanon :]
Sometimes when I'm just sitting and thinking about Ninjago, I'll start to headcanon that when elemental masters die, they continue to live within their element somewhere. Like how Nya became the sea, except instead when they die, their bodies are still mortal and existing, like how any person would die. I guess it's like their souls connect into their element, rather than their bodies merging with it
The dead elementals can view the moral living world if they wish, or they can sit, and rest in the comfort of their element if they'd like, it's up to them
They can't intact with the living or mortal things, and the living can't interact with them either, they're dormant.
It's said that at one point in time the dead elementals could interact with each other, no matter what element it is, but the way of how to is long forgotten. Nobody really seeking to remember how anymore anyways, as their element gives them all the comfort they need
However their souls do still carry their emotions and memories with them into the afterlife, since their bodies can no longer function and carry them. This can sometimes lead to sad moments in remembering ones who have lost them, but its okay, because their element gives them comfort.
In the end, they all reside happily within their elements as they watch time pass, and as they rest peacefully once and for all
Some mortals believe that the lightening elementals can control where the lightening goes during storms, or claim they've seen the dead elementals residing within their respective elements when they are near it. (Like in water, or fire, ice, sometimes shapes in the Earth too)
I know this wouldn't work very well for certain elements like speed or form, but maybe somehow there's a way to make things work, just haven't thought of it yet
Anyways there's a neat headcanon I've thought of multiple times before :]
