And then it kinda becomes a Thing™ because his kids are old enough to actually understand the implications of Wally having a twin brother that he doesn't really talk to. They get really upset about it because the two of them don't always get along but they love each other and they don't want to never see each other when they grow up. Wally tells his kids that it's different, that him and Waid were never close like Irey and Jai, that they'll always be best friends. But Irey and Jai have receipts in the form of Iris' scrapbooks which show that Wally and Waid were actually super close when they were kids.

Wally tries the good ole' "Well, we just live so far away, so it's difficult to-" but, uhhhh, he's the Flash so that one doesn't get him very far.

I've decided that the fictional twin brother I've created for Wally is named after Mary's twin brother Waid.

#Wally calling Waid at 4am: Hey I'm going to be at your house in ten min. pack your shit uo because you're staying the weekend #Waid: ???? we haven't talked in months and you're calling me at 4 in the morning to say that you're kidnapping me?#Wally: Dude my kids are sad alright? Play 'happy family' for the weekend and I'll talk you up to Frankie #Waid: ..... fine #also i think its kinda funny that Irey and Jai are like... less than two years old rn technically.#so Wally probably didn't even get around to telling Waid that Linda was pregnant before she miscarried #then time travel shenanigans happened and she just spontaneously had twins out of nowhere. so Waid probably got a call telling him he was #an uncle. and then a month later the entire family disappeared for six months and came back for a few months (the babies now children)#and then they got erased from existence for a bit #so Waid probably met them once as infants. once or twice at 8 years old (within the same year as when they were born)#and now they're finally aging normally and existing in the correct dimension. so Waid likes the concept of the kids but he doesn't really #know them that well. hes trying to but its hard for him to keep on top of the sci fi stuff that bugs him so much
