Write Every Day - August 2023

FINALLY I AM FREE

It only took 262 writing days, but I finished it!!! I finished the stupid ww3some fic!

I’m not completely happy with it tbh, but at this point, finished and posted is better than being entirely satisfied with it. I simply could not keep working on it and fiddling with it and avoiding writing the last couple of scenes. Like, real talk, 262 writing days since AUGUST 2020 is TOO LONG. That’s long enough to undergo multiple cycles of entirely reworking the fic, getting sick of the fic, getting excited about the fic, then hating it and thinking the whole thing is awful, then getting excited again, etc etc. It’s most definitely long enough to lose all perspective on it.

Onward to the next WIP! I’m going on vacation this month, so we’ll see how far I get with my Sam/Bucky WIP, and I’m also contemplating if I should start on the Buddie fic idea I have or wait until after I’m back and/or finished with the Sam/Bucky fic. I’m still trying to figure out what angle I want to take on the romance for the Sam/Bucky fic, which, uh, admittedly doesn’t feel great when I’ve already written 17k! It’s just that I want to switch it up a bit from my usual, but also I don’t know how to make the romance B plot best complement the A plot. Or, I do, but I don’t entirely know how to execute it. (Why don’t you just...make it gen, you ask?? Because I want a beautiful romantic moment!) Ah well. I’ll power through it.

Imagine the accidental cross over world meet up fight where Captain Carter and Skinny Steve end up fighting side by side with Captain America and Agent Carter

I am SO late to this, so let's ignore that, lmao.

The portal scene in What If Captain Carter, but instead of Peggy being dragged through, it's Skinny Steve too and they end up on the other side with Captain America and Agent Carter.

They're all confused but no one has time to discuss it beyond an initial quick questioning to be sure they're all not Hydra agents.

Now I imagine the portal scene but make it this.

Captain Carter: Who are we fighting?

Captain America: See the ugly guys? The aliens? Hit them.

Agent Carter: Hit who I hit.

But now I just imagine Captain Amerca knowing his Skinny self weakness, how after a while he'll start to favor his left side, while his right is killing him. How bad his asthma can get (luckily Skinny self has an inhaler).

But also a scene of Skinny self-using the shield as a way to bounce himself around because it's funny

Agent Carter knows how Captain Carter fights and uses it to their advantage.

Yes! Absolutely.

What kind of fanwork can I submit?

Does it have to be a romantic piece?

No, but also don't feel ship limited! Works can be gen or romantic, and I'm not going to stop you from celebrating Peggy if you ship her with someone I don't.

What does the fanwork have to be about?

Ideally, create something that celebrates Peggy's birthday (at any age!), but general Peggy positive works are totally cool too. I just ask that you don't post Non-Con, Pedophillic, or Incestous works. Violence and death are a given for Peggy's life, so I get if those come in to the mix.

When is this due again?

If you can get it done in time for Peggy's birthday (April 9th) that's awesome! If not, just try to have it in by the end of April.
