Wait I just thought. Gregor is canonically 36 (35 at game start) and Hong Lu was confirmed to be around 30 (daiyu is nearly 30, and she is younger than him). The first scenes we see in Gregor's backstory are from 20 years ago, and the massacre of H Corp. took place when Hong Lu was 10--

Still just baffled at how many people miss Heathcliff not being white is not just canon to the book but actually integral to the plot. It's a pretty big deal that Heathcliff is Not White and the Earnshaws and Lintons are Extremely Racist About This. The racism is driving like 60% of the plot. And for some reason the only people who actually undestood this were like 2 movie directors in all of history and 1 Korean game developer.

My personal headcanon for the WH Mirror World is that Ishmael agreed to be a maid under the Edgar Family because she knew the heir was a sickly waif of a man who would probably croak from TB in a decade or two and she can train up to face Ahab in that amount of time, but unfortunately she got really attached to the sickly waif of a man she was banking on dying young.
