Happiness is an illusion, it's an analog confusion
You are nothing more than a thought
Existential execution, just a fluke in evolution
History already forgot

Hey everybody! Sorry for the long wait on requests, I’ve got a lot of personal stuff going on so these requests are taking me much longer than I’d like. I just wanted to come on here and post some do’s and Don’t’s for music festivals and outside concert venues since outdoor festival season is quickly approaching. I’ve used this list way back in the days of Warped Tour and even now it is still useful.
I’ve been to plenty of festivals and trust me I’ve seen most of these things happen or I’ve experienced most of these things.
Do’s
Bring Sunscreen. Always apply sun screen before leaving the house if you don’t live far or applying it right as you get out of your car at the venue. And bring extra so you can apply it through out the day.
Wear proper shoes! Anything that is close toed and does not have any type of heel. If you have flat feet like me I do recommend wearing anything that is a flat shoe like vans or converse but try to stay away from platforms shoes and platform vans/converse. You will regret not being able to enjoy the show if your feet hurt cause that’s all you will be focused on.
Wear something comfortable! No long sleeves, heavy pants, hoodies etc. etc. The amount of times I’ve seen people come to outdoor shows during the summer in heavy clothing is insane, especially in Florida. Florida heat is not time for hoodies, heavy pants and more.
If allowed, bring your own bottled water. If not either bring an empty water bottle or bring enough money to buy a water bottle and keep refilling it at water fountains. As always though, please consult the festivals’ website on what you can and can’t bring.
Bring snacks if allowed, especially at a festival. Again, if you’re not allowed to bring snacks; bring enough money to buy some food especially if you’re at a festival and you plan on being there for the whole duration of the festival.
Bring money to buy some merch! You might not care about it at that very moment but take advantage of it now! You will regret not getting anything when you get home. Personal opinion; try to wait to buy merch unless it’s merch you really want and you don’t want them to run out of your size especially if you’re a common size like me. I’ve made the mistake of waiting to buy merch of a band I really like and they had led to me not being able to get the shirt I wanted due to them not having my size.
I know this one might be controversial due to not knowing the people around you but try and make some friends if you go alone. Going alone can be dangerous in its own so having someone that is willing to travel with you from stage to stage and stay with you so you can watch out for each other.
Now the most important one, have fun! Don’t worry about anything and just focus on the bands you’re seeing. You’re there to have fun so take advantage of it!
Don’t’s
Like I said, don’t wear long sleeves, I’ve seen it first hand. It doesn’t end well. People have gone into heat exhaustion, heat stroke and much more. It’s not fun.
Not drinking water. Not drinking water sort of ties in with wearing long sleeves. It dumb, stupid, whatever you want to call it. It will lead to dehydration and a possible hospital trip and trust me, healthcare in America is not worth it.
Not wearing sunscreen! If you plan on wearing any kind of open shoe (which you shouldn’t!) please sun screen the top of your feet! Contrary to popular belief, you can get sun burned on your feet. And don’t forget your ears and scalp, people always forget their ears and scalp and they end up with red and painful ears and/or scalp.
Not bringing cash. Most venues may offer card options but always bring cash for specialty merch items, food and just incase of emergencies. You never know what may happen at a music festival.
Bringing pets. Unless it is a service animal of some kind please do you bring your pet. Festivals are dangerous for animals and are not a place they should be.
As always, please consult the festival’s website on what you can and can’t bring. Always check to see if you can bring a bag and how big the bag can be. As always, have fun at whatever festival you plan on going to!
